Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb caught just 2 of 5 targets for 9 yards in Thursday night's loss to the Buccaneers. He didn't see a single target in the first quarter, and his first 3 targets in the second quarter fell incomplete. Two were poor throws from QB Dak Prescott. Lamb caught passes late in the second quarter and early in the third, but he suffered a quad injury a short time later. He played sparingly the rest of the way, re-entering a few times but clearly looking uncomfortable.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Quad The Only Concern
It was a rough night for Lamb and his fantasy owners. After looking like the focal point of Dallas' offense over the first 4 games, Lamb played second fiddle to WR George Pickens before hurting his quad.
Games like this will happen when you're playing alongside another excellent receiver. A rare poor outing from Prescott didn't help Lamb either.
We're not worried about Lamb's role or Prescott's play going forward. The quad issue will be worth watching when Dallas gets back to work next week, although Lamb trying to play through it against Tampa Bay suggests the injury isn't serious. He also gets a few extra days to heal up.
Lamb gets positive matchups against the Packers and Cardinals in Weeks 6 and 8. They sandwich a Week 7 game against the Eagles, who have a talented secondary but have underwhelmed so far.
Lamb's schedule from Weeks 6 through 17 ranks third easiest, per our adjusted fantasy points allowed.
