Rams RB Darrell Henderson is dealing with a quad strain and will be "monitored" throughout the week, HC Sean McVay said Monday. We'll keep an eye on Henderson's practice participation, but RB Sony Michel needs to be owned in all fantasy leagues. He'd be a RB1 if Henderson is inactive for Sunday's game vs. the Jaguars.

Rams RB Darrell Henderson suffered an ankle injury in the 1st half of Sunday night's game vs. the Titans and is officially questionable to return. We'll update his status when we know more. Sony Michel will step in as Los Angeles' lead back while Henderson is out.

Update: Henderson returned.

Rams RB Darrell Henderson (ribs) is active for today’s game vs. the Cardinals. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday. We’ll see if Henderson returns to the feature-back role he was playing before the injury. If he does, he’ll have RB1 upside today. Even if he cedes some work to RB Sony Michel, Henderson should still be a nice fantasy play vs. Arizona’s leaky run defense.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Rams RB Darrell Henderson (ribs) will play vs. the Cardinals today. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday. There's some risk that Henderson's workload is scaled back coming off this injury, but we like him as an upside RB2 in today's plus matchup.

Rams RB Darrell Henderson (ribs) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Cardinals. He put in a full practice on Friday, though, and HC Sean McVay confirmed that Henderson will play on Sunday. He was getting feature-back usage before that rib injury, but we wouldn't be surprised if Los Angeles scaled back Henderson's workload a bit going forward. Still, he's a nice Week 4 fantasy play in a likely shootout vs. a leaky Arizona run defense.

Rams RB Darrell Henderson (ribs) was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. "He had a good look in his eye and took part in the walk thru just now," HC Sean McVay said. "So I think the expectation and anticipation is that he’ll play, but not 100% sure." Henderson was getting feature-back usage before the rib injury, but we wonder if Los Angeles will lighten his load a bit going forward. Check back tomorrow for another update on Henderson's status.

Rams HC Sean McVay said Monday that RB Darrell Henderson (ribs) is making good progress and that he's "hopeful" Henderson will be back for this weekend's game vs. the Cardinals. Sony Michel got feature-back usage with Henderson out Week 3, racking up 20 carries and 4 targets. Michel will be a top 20 fantasy play in Week 4 if Henderson remains sidelined.

Rams RB Darrell Henderson (ribs) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Bucs. Sony Michel will step in as Los Angeles’ lead back, with Jake Funk as the #2 RB. The matchup vs. a stout Tampa run defense leaves Michel as just a RB3 in the Week 3 rankings.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Rams expect RB Darrell Henderson to be inactive for today's game against the Buccaneers. He's officially questionable with a rib injury. If Henderson is out, we should see Sony Michel operate as L.A.'s lead back. Tampa Bay presents arguably the league's worst rushing matchup, so don't expect a big fantasy day. But Michel will be in play for lineups in need.

Rams RB Darrell Henderson (ribs) didn’t practice all week but will be a game-time decision for Sunday’s tilt vs. the Bucs. That game doesn’t kick off until 4:25 pm ET, but we’ll look for an update on Henderson on Sunday morning. Between the rib injury and a brutal matchup, he’ll be a shaky fantasy start if he plays. If Henderson is out, Sony Michel should get the majority of the Rams’ RB touches and would be in the RB2 conversation.

Rams RB Darrell Henderson (ribs) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice. The team is expected to test those injured ribs on Friday. Check back then for another update.

Rams RB Darrell Henderson suffered a rib cartilage injury in Sunday's win over the Colts, HC Sean McVay said. McVay didn't rule Henderson out for this weekend's showdown with the Bucs, according to The Athletic's Jordan Rodrigue. These rib injuries tend to be pain management issues, so this might come down to a game-time decision. RB Sony Michel, who received all 10 Rams carries after Henderson exited in Week 2, needs to be owned in just about every fantasy league.

Rams RB Darrell Henderson suffered a rib injury in the 2nd half of Sunday's game vs. the Colts and is officially questionable to return. Stay tuned for updates.

Rams HC Sean McVay said Monday that RB Sony Michel is on track to play against the Bears this weekend -- although McVay stopped short of guaranteeing that Michel will suit up for that one. The former Patriots has been in Los Angeles for just a couple of weeks, so don't expect an extensive role in the opener. But Michel's presence adds downside for RB Darrell Henderson.

Rams HC Sean McVay talked about his new-look backfield of Darrell Henderson and Sony Michel on Thursday. “Wanted to make sure that we got somebody else that’s played in big-time games," McVay said of Michel, per NFL Network's Andrew Siciliano. “The goal is to get him ready to go and have him a big-time contributor on the 12th (Week 1)." Of Henderson, McVay said, "Darrell’s still going to have a very big role. Doesn’t really change the outlook for him." We at least expect Henderson to open the season as Los Angeles' lead back. But it could be a fluid situation.

Appearing on SiriusXM radio this morning, ESPN's Adam Schefter said Sony Michel will "probably be the lead back" in Los Angeles. It sounded like much more opinion than report -- but Schefter is obviously 1 of the most plugged-in reporters in the industry. Although he's struggled with injuries through 3 NFL seasons, it's worth remembering that Michel was the 31st overall pick of the 2018 draft. He's still only 26 years old. And he averaged 5.7 yards on 79 carries last year, ranking 26th among 76 qualifying RBs in Pro Football Focus' rushing grades. RB Darrell Henderson, by the way, finished 17th on that list. We'll be keeping a close eye on this backfield over the next couple of weeks. But, for now, both Henderson and Michel look like risk/reward RB3 targets in fantasy drafts.

The Patriots traded RB Sony Michel to the Rams in exchange for a pair of late-round conditional picks, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. The Rams always seemed likely to add to the backfield after losing Cam Akers for the season. Even if they believe in RB Darrell Henderson, the depth behind him wasn't NFL-caliber. Henderson still figures to get the 1st crack at lead duties in Los Angeles. But expect Michel to be involved, potentially serving as a short-yardage and goal-line back. Michel ripped off 5.7 yards per carry last year and has looked good this preseason. Rams RBs Xavier Jones and Jake Funk are obviously undraftable now. Meanwhile in New England, Damien Harris is now even safer as the clear lead ball-carrier -- although he'll continue to lose almost all the passing-down work to James White. Michel's departure also makes rookie Rhamondre Stevenson a more interesting late-round flier.

Rams RB Darrell Henderson practiced on Tuesday with a non-contact jersey and a "large wrap" on his injured left thumb, according to The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue. Henderson will be able to maintain his conditioning as he rehabs that thumb injury. He's fully expected to be ready for Week 1.

Rams RB Darrell Henderson is considered "day to day" with his thumb injury, according to The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue. Testing revealed no ligament damage to the thumb. We'll keep an eye on him, but Henderson should be fine for Week 1.
