Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (ribs) is expected to be ready to play when he's eligible to come off IR in Week 6, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. QB Jacoby Brissett was serviceable in last week's overtime loss to the Raiders and will start vs. the Colts today and the Bucs next week. But a healthy Tagovailoa should be an upgrade over Brissett the rest of the way.

The Dolphins are placing QB Tua Tagovailoa on IR for his fractured ribs. That means he'll miss at least the next 3 contests. The team reportedly hopes to get the QB back for Week 6. Until then, it's Jacoby Brissett ... which means it's also time to queue up fantasy defenses playing against Miami. That's the Raiders this week, then the Colts and Buccaneers. If Tagovailoa makes it back for Week 6, he'd get a nice pair of matchups with Jacksonville and then Atlanta.

Dolphins HC Brian Flores said Wednesday that, after further testing, QB Tua Tagovailoa has been diagnosed with fractured ribs and will miss this weekend's game against the Raiders. Tua's availability beyond Week 3 is uncertain. It'll be Jacoby Brissett under center for however long Tagovailoa is out. Brissett was bad in relief this past Sunday, finishing 24 of 40 for 169 yards, 0 TDs and 1 INT. Downgrade Miami's passing game under Brissett.

Additional testing on Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa's injured ribs revealed no "major issues," according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. "So it’ll be about pain tolerance and functionality moving forward.," Pelissero adds. We'll need to keep an eye on Tua's practice participation and progress this week. If he can't play vs. the Raiders on Sunday, it'll be Jacoby Brissett under center for Miami.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa has been diagnosed with bruised ribs, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. X-rays came back negative, and Tua will get an MRI on Monday "He's in a lot of pain," Pelissero adds.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa suffered a rib injury in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Bills. He was in obvious pain and took a cart back to the locker room. Tagovailoa is officially questionable to return. QB Jacoby Brissett is in for Miami.

The Dolphins have agreed to a 1-year deal with QB Jacoby Brissett, according to multiple reports. That gives Miami a new backup behind franchise QB Tua Tagovailoa. Assuming we don't get a Deshaun Watson-to-South Beach trade, Tagovailoa should enter his 2nd year with a less threatening presence than Ryan Fitzpatrick behind him on the depth chart.

The Colts have reached agreement with QB Philip Rivers on a 1-year deal, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. It's been a long-anticipated move that should upgrade the QB play for Indy. Of course, Rivers is 38 and coming off 1 of his worst seasons -- both of which surely factor into the Chargers letting him go. Rivers over Jacoby Brissett should help WR T.Y. Hilton and TE Jack Doyle, but we're not sure about him leading an enormous rebound for the Colts offense on whole. Over the past 4 years, Indy has ranked top 10 in scoring and yards in the 2 seasons Andrew Luck has played; 25th or worse in yards and 16th or worse in scoring in the 2 years Luck missed. Colts HC Frank Reich does have experience with Rivers, coordinating his Chargers offense in 2014 and 2015, and spending 2013 as the QBs coach. San Diego finished 2014 ranked 17th in scoring and 18th in yards; 2015 found the Chargers 9th in yards but just 26th in points.

Colts WR Parris Campbell (hand) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, putting him on track to return for this weekend's game against the Bucs. It'll be the rookie's 1st action since Week 9. We wouldn't trust him in fantasy lineups, despite Sunday's plus matchup. But Campbell's return helps QB Jacoby Brissett, who is still missing WR T.Y. Hilton and TE Eric Ebron.

Colts QB Jacoby Brissett (knee) practiced all week and will start Sunday’s game against the Jaguars. That’s good news for Indianapolis’ skill-position guys, but Brissett is just a mid-range QB2 vs. Jacksonville’s 18th-ranked QB defense.

Colts QB Jacoby Brissett (knee) will be a full participant in Wednesday's practice, HC Frank Reich said. Barring a setback, Brissett should be back for this weekend's game against the Jaguars. That's good news for the entire offense after QB Brian Hoyer struggled vs. Miami last week.

Colts QB Jacoby Brissett will miss Sunday’s game against Miami. Brian Hoyer will make the start while Brissett rests an MCL sprain. Hoyer’s a risky fantasy option, but a matchup with the Dolphins puts him on the deep league radar.

Colts QB Jacoby Brissett (knee) is a game-time decision for this weekend’s tilt with the Dolphins, HC Frank Reich said Friday. Brissett got in 3 limited practices this week. Colts-Fins doesn’t kick off until 4:05 pm ET, so hopefully we get an update on this situation on Sunday morning. QB Brian Hoyer will draw the start if Brissett is out.

Colts QB Jacoby Brissett (knee) put in a limited practice on Wednesday. The fact that he was out there at all is an encouraging sign. We'll get another update on his status tomorrow, but Brissett definitely has a shot to play against the Dolphins this weekend.

Colts QB Jacoby Brissett has a "chance" to play against the Dolphins this weekend, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen. The MRI on the injured left knee confirmed an MCL sprain. We'll keep a close eye on Brissett's status throughout this week, but it at least looks like he avoided a multi-week injury. QB Brian Hoyer will start vs. Miami if Brissett can't.

Colts HC Frank Reich said after Sunday's loss to the Steelers that the team believes QB Jacoby Brissett is dealing with a sprained MCL. Brissett remained on the sidelines after exiting and looked like he wanted to re-enter the game. He never did, but it at least looks like he avoided a serious injury here. We should get a more concrete diagnosis and timeline on Brissett tomorrow.

Colts QB Jacoby Brissett injured his left foot or ankle in the 2nd quarter of Sunday's game in Pittsburgh. He was able to get off the field under his own power and is being looked at by trainers on the sidelines. QB Brian Hoyer is in for Indianapolis. We'll update Brissett's status when we learn more.

Update: The Colts announced that Brissett has a knee injury and is questionable to return.

Stephen Holder of The Athletic supplied some ominous info early Friday afternoon on WR T.Y. Hilton's calf injury. Holder said Hilton was in a walking boot Thursday and that the Colts wideout "is very much in jeopardy of missing Sunday's game at Pittsburgh." Unless Indy rules him out today, we'll likely need to track Hilton's status right up until Sunday's inactives come out. Stay tuned. And if you've been planning to start QB Jacoby Brissett this weekend, consider your other options.

9:08pm EDT 8/24/19

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Colts QB Andrew Luck has decided to retire. Luck has reportedly already talked to team management about his decision. Jacoby Brissett now takes over the starting gig. This appears to be a shocking move to everyone. Schefter reports that Luck feels "worn down." The QB switch lowers the ceiling for everyone in the Indy offense. The Colts finished 30th in points and 31st in scoring in 2017, with Luck sidelined (shoulder) and Brissett starting.

Here's a full breakdown of the fantasy impact of Luck's retirement.

Colts QB Jacoby Brissett (concussion) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll start Sunday’s game against the Titans’ 21st-ranked QB defense, making him a viable Week 12 spot starter.
