Pro Football Focus awarded him the 2nd-highest pass-rushing grade among 325 draft-eligible edge defenders nationally for the season. The Giants have an immediate need at the spot, and Ojulari doesn’t turn 21 until mid-June. He's a high-upside option for dynasty leagues that favor sack/pressure scoring.

The Giants wasted little time in giving their franchise player a longer-term contract. The 2 sides have agreed to a 3-year pact worth $63 million, with $45 million fully guaranteed, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That contract would carry Williams through his age-29 season.

The Giants have applied the franchise tag to DE Leonard Williams, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It's an unsurprising move after Williams posted 11.5 sacks in his 1st full year with the team. That beat his previous season high by 4.5 and ranked him 7th in the league. Williams turns 27 in June and looks like a good candidate for a long-term deal with the Giants.

The Giants recently lost starting OLB Lorenzo Carter for the season to an Achilles' tendon tear. Kyler Fackrell has become a full-time player at the position in recent weeks, but Markus Golden has struggled to stay in the lineup. Sheard's addition might also mean that Oshane Ximines will need more time to recover from the shoulder injury that landed him on IR 2 weeks ago.

The Giants on Monday agreed to a 1-year deal with free-agent DB Logan Ryan. It's not yet clear where they'll play the former Titans CB, though the New York Post reports a source said, "Everywhere. He's a Swiss Army knife." Ryan has experience with HC Joe Judge and DC Patrick Graham from working with both in New England. And the Giants certainly have room -- and a need -- for Ryan throughout the secondary. He might not practice with the team until next week, but a significant Week 1 role seems likely. Ryan is worth a late shot in IDP drafts of at least moderate depth.

Giants rookie S Xavier McKinney broke his left foot and will have surgery Wednesday afternoon, according to ESPN's Field Yates. There's no word yet on his recovery timeline, but we should expect McKinney to miss at least the beginning of the regular season. Julian Love and Nate Ebner look like candidates to replace McKinney in the lineup. Fellow starter Jabrill Peppers also gains tackle upside from the injury. He's the only 1 among those 3 we'd target in IDP drafts right now.

NFL Network reports the Giants will cut K Aldrick Rosas “soon.” Rosas followed being a lackluster FG kicker with an off-season arrest for an alleged hit-and-run. Make sure you avoid him in best-ball drafts. Keep an eye on free-agent K Stephen Gostkowski, with the Giants now employing former Patriots coach Joe Judge as HC.
