The Giants have ruled ILB Alec Ogletree out for Sunday's game against Washington with a hamstring injury. That will leave ILB B.J. Goodson wearing the green dot and likely playing at least a near-full snap share. We've added Goodson to the Week 8 LB rankings, and he'll carry tackle upside beyond his ranking in what could/should be a heavy dose of Adrian Peterson.

The Giants have traded DT Damon Harrison to the Lions a day after trading CB Eli Apple to the Saints. Harrison should improve the Detroit run defense and could see a tackle increase back with a defense that works from a 4-3 base. We’ll see how quickly he can claim a starting role. Apple should soon make his way into New Orleans’ top 3 at CB but doesn’t alter the outlook for the team D.

The Giants have ruled OLB Olivier Vernon (ankle) out once again. He returned to practice this week but still has yet to play this regular season

The Giants have ruled OLB Olivier Vernon (ankle) and CB Eli Apple (groin) out for Sunday’s game against the Saints. Vernon has yet to play this season. Apple will miss his 2nd straight contest. The absences can only add upside to a Saints pass offense that didin’t need the help.

The Giants have ruled OLB Olivier Vernon out for the 3rd straight game because of his ankle injury. They've also ruled CB Eli Apple (groin) out for Sunday's visit to Houston. The absences can only help the outlook for a Texans offense that already looked like 1 to target for fantasy starters this weekend.

Giants OLB Olivier Vernon has been ruled out for the 2nd straight game because of an ankle injury. He's not worth owning right now in most redraft IDP leagues.

The Giants have ruled OLB Olivier Vernon out for Sunday's opener against the Jaguars because of an ankle injury. We'll see about his status for Week 2. New York will miss its top pass rusher in the 1st game under new DC James Bettcher, but you shouldn't have been planning to use this defense in fantasy anyway.

The Giants have waived S Darian Thompson with an injured designation, according to NJ.com's Ryan Dunleavy. That makes Thompson available for any other team to claim him, though that team would have to carry him on the 53-man roster. If Thompson passes through waivers, the Giants could place him on IR. The team looks thin at safety after also cutting Andrew Adams on Saturday. Curtis Riley will start at FS next to Landon Collins. A former undrafted free agent, Riley is 26 heading into his 1st year with the Giants after 2 with the Titans.

Giants OLB Olivier Vernon left Sunday's practice on a cart after suffering a left ankle injury, according to multiple reports. ESPN reports that X-rays came back negative. That doesn't rule out ligament damage. We'll keep an eye out for further details.

The Giants selected OLB Lorenzo Carter early in Round 3 of the NFL Draft. Carter stands 6'5, 250 pounds and notched the 2nd best speed score in this edge class. Carter topped out at 5 sacks as a junior and totaled just 21.5 tackles for loss in his career but spent a lot of time dropping back. He'll come forward on the edge of new DC James Bettcher's scheme. Carter presents upside in IDP leagues that value pass-rushing production.

Giants S Landon Collins confirmed Wednesday that he needs a 2nd surgery on the right forearm he fractured late last season, according to Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com. Collins will reportedly need 6-8 weeks of recovery time, which should still allow him to start training camp on time. We'll keep an eye on the situation as we move into summer, but IDP owners needn't worry just yet.

Giants DE Jason Pierre-Paul (finger) and S Landon Collins (ankle) are active for today’s game against he Cardinals. Collins remains risky, though, after playing less than 30% of the snaps last week

The Giants have ruled LB B.J. Goodson out for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. He wouldn't have been an IDP option if active, but his absence makes it easier to use Giants LB Kelvin Sheppard in fantasy lineups. Sheppard has played 78% of the snaps or more in 4 straight appearances.

The Giants have ruled MLB B.J. Goodson out for Sunday's game against the Cowboys. That clears a muddled LB picture a bit for IDP owners and makes Kelvin Sheppard likely to get enough snaps to be useful in fantasy. Sheppard led all Giants LBs in snaps each of the past 2 weeks, topping 80% in each game while supplying 7 and 8 total tackles (including 7 combined solos). The team also placed OLB Jonathan Casillas on IR Wednesday with neck and wrist injuries.

The Giants have fired HC Ben McAdoo and GM Jerry Reese. The G-Men are less than a year removed from a playoff berth, but things fell apart this year. New York is 2-10 and ranks 29th in point differential (-102). It'll be a full rebuild this offseason with a new HC, GM and QB.

Giants LB Kelvin Sheppard (groin), LB Jonathan Casillas (neck), DT Damon Harrison (ankle) and DE Olivier Vernon (shoulder) are all active for tonight's game against Washington. All are usable to different degrees in IDP leagues. Vernon gets a boost from Washington missing LT Trent Williams.

Giants LB Jonathan Casillas (neck), DT Damon Harrison (ankle), DE Olivier Vernon (shoulder) and LB Kelvin Sheppard (groin) are all questionable for Thursday night's game against Washington. According to NJ.com, all 4 appear likely to play, with Sheppard expected to start in the middle. LB Calvin Munson is doubtful and LB B.J. Goodson is out for the game.

Giants DE Olivier Vernon (ankle) and LB Jonathan Casillas (neck) are active for today's game against the 49ers. Use them in your IDP lineups if you waited to this point.
