ESPN's Jordan Ranaan reports that signals point to the Giants playing their starters in Sunday's regular-season finale that can't change their playoff position either way. Ranaan pointed to HC Ben McAdoo not addressing the playoffs until the end of practice, when he conveyed the message, "Be ascending going into the playoffs." Several players also said they expected the 1st-stringers to be in there. It's worth noting that the offense has yet to get on a roll and could look to build momentum before the Wild Card round. Of course, none of us will know for sure what the team will do with its top guys until we see it play out Sunday. That risk is what makes Week 17 so unsavory for many fantasy football leagues.

Giants LB Jonathan Casillas (knee) is active for tonight's game against the Eagles. He's a low-level IDP, though

Giants CB Janoris Jenkins (back) will be inactive for tonight's game against the Eagles. He's not a big loss for IDP owners. He does take some big-play upside away from the team D but doesn't kill the unit's fantasy outlook against a bad Philly offense.

Giants CB Janoris Jenkins (back) and LB Jonathan Casillas (knee) are questionable for Thursday night's game against the Eagles. Jenkins told the Star-Ledger Wednesday that he doesn't know if he'll be able to play, though he's hopeful. Both players have been limited practice participants the past couple of days. Neither should be in your fantasy plans even if available -- unless you play in a pretty deep IDP league. Jenkins' presence would help the team defense's turnover upside.

Giants CB Janoris Jenkins left Sunday's win over the Lions early after taking a knee to the back. "I'm good. I'm fine," he told ESPN's Josina Anderson after the game, but Jenkins will have further testing to see if he'll miss further time. The Giants face a quick turnaround before Thursday night's trip to Philly.

Giants LB Keenan Robinson (shoulder) is active for today's game against the Lions.

The forecast for today's Lions-Giants game calls for a 65% chance of rain with winds of 10-20 mph. Not ideal. It's especially concerning for Lions QB Matt Stafford, who will be playing with an injured middle finger on his throwing hand. He's no better than a mid-range QB2 for Week 15.

ESPN's Jordan Ranaan reports that Giants DE Jason Pierre-Paul is having surgery for a sports hernia and will miss the rest of the season. There's a chance he could return during the playoffs if the Giants make the postseason, but IDP owners lose a top-shelf lineman at fantasy football playoff time. Rookie Romeo Okwara has been operating as the 3rd DE in recent weeks, while Kerry Wynn saw his playing time jump after Pierre-Paul left Sunday's game at Pittsburgh early. The Giants will likely need to piece together a solution here, though, rather than relying on 1 particular player. Don't bother with any of the replacement DEs on your IDP roster, and don't plan to use the Giants D against Dallas -- already a bad matchup -- this weekend. A visit by a solid Lions offense in Week 15 makes it easier to drop the Giants D for a replacement, though the group could still be in the fantasy-starting mix for Week 16 at Philly.

Update: ESPN reports that the Giants have confirmed Kerry Wynn will start in JPP's place.

Giants DE Jason Pierre-Paul visited sports hernia specialist Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia on Tuesday, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Pierre-Paul reportedly spoke optimistically after Sunday's game about the groin injury that ended his day early, so he might just be seeking confirmation that the issue is OK to play through. We'll certainly be watching for updates. Losing JPP for any more time would deal a big blow to IDP lineups and the Giants' team D.

Giants DE Jason Pierre-Paul left Sunday's game at Pittsburgh early with a groin injury. We'll see about his status this week. Kerry Wynn would likely see the biggest playing-time boost if JPP sits.

Giants DE Jason Pierre-Paul (knee) is active for today's game against the Browns. He missed most of the practice week but said all along he would play, according to the Newark Star-Ledger. JPP has played on little practice before and should be used as you normally would in IDP lineups.

Winds of 20-22 mph are expected for today's Bears-Giants game. That definitely hurts both Ks and is just enough to impact the passing games. We've adjusted our projections for this game a tad. Click here for updated rankings.
