Lions RB Theo Riddick (knee) remained sidelined on Thursday. He seems unlikely to play against the Seahawks this weekend. With Riddick out last week, RB Kerryon Johnson set season highs in snap rate (59%), carries (19) and total touches (21).

Lions RB Theo Riddick (knee) is out for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins after missing practice all week. We don’t have any details on the injury or when we can expect him back. Tim Twentyman of the Lions’ official website suggests that RB Ameer Abdullah will soak up most of Riddick’s role, but RB Kerryon Johnson might also pick up some extra snaps.

Lions RB Theo Riddick was sidelined Wednesday with a knee injury. It's the 1st we've heard of it. Check back tomorrow for another update on his status.

The Lions selected Auburn RB Kerryon Johnson with the 43rd overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft. Derrius Guice’s slide continues. Johnson was a workhorse for the Tigers last year, carrying 285 times for 1,391 yards and 18 TDs. He caught 24 balls for 194 yards and 2 more scores. Johnson left school with a mediocre 4.8 yards-per-carry average and didn’t overly impress us on film. But he can obviously carry the mail and lands in a solid spot in Detroit. LeGarrette Blount is a 31-year-old on a 1-year deal, Theo Riddick is a pure pass-catcher and Ameer Abdullah has clearly fallen out of favor. Johnson is the odds-on favorite to lead the 2018 backfield in carries, although Riddick limits his pass-catching upside.

Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) is off the final injury report after a full week of practice. He should remain Detroit’s lead back against the Bengals on Sunday. Riddick has totaled 27 carries and 14 catches over the past 3 weeks.

Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) put in a full practice on Wednesday. He'll be ready to go for this weekend's game against the Bengals. Riddick has racked up 27 carries and 14 catches over the past 3 weeks and should continue to serve as Detroit's lead back.

Lions RB Theo Riddick left in the 4th quarter of Saturday's win over the Bears with a wrist injury. The team has yet to provide further details, but it's a worrisome issue given that Riddick had surgery on both wrists last offseason. Before exiting, he continued to work as Detroit's top back. Riddick played all 30 of the team's 1st-half offensive snaps and finished with 8 carries for 49 yards plus 3 catches (on 3 targets) for 12 yards. Tion Green carried another 10 times for 35 yards, while Ameer Abdullah garnered just 1 rush -- plus 3 catches -- in his return from a neck injury. We'll see about Riddick's status heading into a Week 16 trip to Cincinnati.

Lions RB Zach Zenner is inactive for today's opener against the Cardinals. He wasn't listed on the final injury report, so this looks like a healthy scratch. Zenner is behind Ameer Abdullah, Theo Riddick and Dwayne Washington the depth chart and isn't worth rostering in redraft. We're curious to see who gets the goal-line carries for Detroit.

Lions RB Ameer Abdullah carried 13 times for 60 yards and caught 3 passes for 39 more in a little more than 1 half of action in Friday night's preseason game against the Patriots. RB Theo Riddick carried once and was targeted once over the same span. According to Pro Football Focus' Nathan Jahnke, Abdullah out-snapped Riddick 20 to 8 in the 1st half. It was extremely encouraging usage for Abdullah. If he can even get 15 or so touches per game this season, he's a good bet to score as an RB2.

RB Theo Riddick (wrists) sported a red non-contact jersey and was limited to individual drills as the Lions opened training camp on Sunday. He missed all of spring workouts after undergoing surgery on both wrists early in the offseason. It looks like he's on track to be ready by Week 1, but we'll keep an eye on his progress. Riddick has racked up 133 catches over the last 2 years -- most among RBs.

The Lions have signed RB Matt Asiata. A fantasy undertaker in Minnesota, Asiata vultured 19 total TDs over the past 4 seasons -- despite averaging just 3.5 yards per carry. He joins Ameer Abdullah, Theo Riddick, Zach Zenner and Dwayne Washington in Detroit's backfield. Those final 2 and Asiata might be battling for 1 or 2 roster spots. We hope Asiata doesn't turn into a fantasy factor again.

Lions GM Bob Quinn called RB Ameer Abdullah his starting RB following the NFL Draft. “I feel pretty good about the position," Quinn said via Detroit Free Press. "There were a couple running backs that we looked at in the middle part of the draft, but just no one we felt that was going to come in and really unseat any of the guys that we have on our roster. So I feel good about that spot.” Abdullah appeared in just 2 games last year before undergoing season-ending foot surgery. If healthy (he’s already participated in spring workouts) the 3rd-year man has a chance to excel as the lead back. Of course, Theo Riddick will help lower Abdullah's receiving upside. But note that Detroit upgraded the O-line in free agency with G TJ Lang and RT Ricky Wagner.

Lions RB Theo Riddick had surgery on both wrists, according to insider Dave Birkett. Riddick missed the final 4 games of last season with the issue, but we don't know exactly when went under the knife -- or exactly what the surgery repaired. Birkett says, though, that Riddick is expected to be a full participant in OTAs. As long as that's the case, there won't be any reason to worry about his 2017 outlook. Riddick finished 18th among RBs in PPR points in 2015 and 8th in PPR points per game last year.

Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) is out for Sunday night’s game vs. Green Bay. That leaves Zach Zenner as the likely lead back after he out-touched Dwayne Washington 14 to 8 last week.

Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) remained sidelined on Thursday. Detroit would love to get him back for Sunday night's massive game against the Packers, but it doesn't look like that's in the cards. Riddick's absence would likely mean another game as lead back for Zach Zenner.

Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) missed practice again on Friday and looks unlikely to play against the Cowboys on Monday night. That’d again leave lead-back duties to Dwayne Washington, who’s seen 33 touches over the past 2 weeks. He’s totaled just 114 scoreless yards, though, and is no better than a RB3.

Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) did not practice on Thursday. It's not a good start for his chances of returning for Monday night's game against the Cowboys. Fantasy owners can't be counting on Riddick in Week 16 lineups.

11:32am EST 12/18/16

Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) is inactive for today’s game against the Giants. RB Zach Zenner (concussion) is active and will serve as the #2 RB behind Dwayne Washington. Washington is a solid bet for 15+ touches but is just a RB3 or flex against a tough Giants defense.
