Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa went off for 324 yards, 3 TDs, and 1 INT in Sunday's win over New England. Tua wasn’t perfect in this one, as he threw at least one pass that should have been picked off. He also lost a fumble. Still, when you’re firing 56% of your targets at Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, good things are bound to happen. Sure enough, that duo alone combined for 15 catches, 233 yards, and 2 TDs. Tua’s remaining score went to Cedric Wilson at the goal line. Keep the young QB in lineups for a potential Week 9 shootout vs. Kansas City.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (hip) is not listed on the final Week 8 injury report. He put in just limited practices on Thursday and Friday but will be a “full go” vs. the Patriots this weekend, according to NFL Networks’s Cameron Wolfe. Hill should stay glued into fantasy lineups.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (hip) was officially limited in Thursday's practice. He told the media afterward that he'll play vs. the Patriots this weekend. Hill can stay penciled into Week 8 fantasy lineups for now. We'll see how he's listed on the final injury report tomorrow.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (hip) was back on the practice field on Thursday, according to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe. Hill "ran routes, caught passes, and did his normal high-intensity cutting during drills," Wolfe adds. After some ominous stuff on Hill yesterday, it now looks like he has a good chance to play vs. the Patriots this weekend. We'll see how he's listed on the final injury report tomorrow.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill did not practice on Wednesday and is on the injury report with a hip. Miami media didn't spot him out on the practice field or in the locker room. "Somewhere down the line, we’re going to get Tyreek back," QB Tua Tagovailoa said, rather ominously. We'll look for more details on Hill's status, but there seems to be a real chance he misses this weekend's game vs. the Patriots.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill hauled 11 of 15 targets for 88 receiving yards with 1 TD vs. the Eagles on Sunday night. Through seven weeks, the speedy veteran has now accumulated a league-leading 902 receiving yards. His teammate Jaylen Waddle concluded Week 7 with 6 catches for 63 yards despite spending a large portion of the game sidelined with a back injury. Assuming good health for both wideouts, they should be treated as high-end fantasy starters in Week 8 vs. the Patriots.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill piled up 163 yards and 1 score on 6 catches in Week 6. His 10 targets marked a 32.2% target share. Hill scored yet another long-range TD, this time from 41 yards out. Four of his six total catches went for 20+ yards. Hill left the game in the second half with cramping, but he ultimately returned. He’ll remain the WR1 next Sunday against a banged-up Philly defense.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill pulled up with a left hamstring issue in the third quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Panthers. It's unclear if he's injured or cramping. We'll update his status when we know more.
Update: The Dolphins say Hill is questionable to return due to cramps. Good news.
Update: Tyreek Hill has returned to the game.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill totaled 8 catches for 181 yards in Week 5. He added his fifth TD of the year. (Hill notched only 7 scores in 17 games last season.) The former Chief destroyed man coverage for a deep ball along the sideline for a 69-yard score. Hill also showed his run-after-catch wheels on a 64-yard gain later on. Entering a Week 6 date vs. Carolina, we’re not looking to sell high here.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill managed only 3 grabs for 58 yards in Sunday's loss to Buffalo. Credit a tough Bills defense for dialing up pressure on Tua Tagovailoa, limiting Hill's opportunities. His 5 targets marked his fewest since Week 3 of last season (vs. Buffalo). Look for a rebound next week at home vs. the Giants, who will play on short rest.
Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. He had been listed as questionable after returning to a limited practice on Friday, so Waddle is trending toward a Week 4 return. It'll be WRs Braxton Berrios, River Cracraft, Erik Ezukanma, Cedrick Wilson, and Robbie Chosen behind target-hog Tyreek Hill against Denver tomorrow.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill was held to 5 catches on 9 targets for 40 receiving yards in Sunday night’s win over the Patriots. Teammate Jaylen Waddle led the team in receiving with 86 yards on 4 catches in the divisional bout. It’s a familiar anecdote that Patriots HC Bill Belichick is good at tailoring a game plan around attempting to shut down an opponent’s most effective playmaker, so fantasy managers should have no reason to go away from Hill looking forward. Both he and Waddle are prime plays in Week 3 vs. the Broncos. This Miami offense has started the year firing on all cylinders.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill started hot, snagging 11 balls for 215 yards and 2 TDs in a win over Los Angeles. His yardage marked the third-most in a season-opener in league history, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Hill scored from deep and in close, showcasing his extraordinary burst throughout the game. On the day, Hill saw a 33.3% target share and accounted for 46.1% of Tua Tagovailoa’s 466(!) passing yards. If Tua continues to cook, Hill will retain an overall WR1 upside for the road ahead. The upcoming schedule just isn’t a cakewalk: at New England, vs. Denver, and at Buffalo.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill won't be suspended for his altercation at a Miami Beach marina back in June, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. That's been the assumption since Hill's accuser declined to press charges, but it's nice to have confirmation as we enter another big weekend of fantasy drafts. See where Hill sits in the WR rankings.
SI.com’s Omar Kelly says Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill merely “blended in” across Week 1 of training camp. “You can tell he's either slowed by a nagging injury, or his focus is off because he's had too many drops,” Kelly writes. This isn’t enough to make us alter Hill’s standing in our 2023 fantasy football rankings. But we’ll keep an eye on him to see if things remain off.
The attorneys for Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill and Hill's accuser issued a joint statement that the parties have "resolved their differences" after an altercation in mid-June. With no formal charges against Hill, it seems unlikely that he'll face any NFL discipline for the incident. We just nudged Hill up the WR Rankings.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill is being investigated on assault and battery allegations for an incident at a Miami Beach marina over the weekend. According to insider Andy Slater, Hill allegedly slapped an employee of the marina on the back of the head during an argument. That employee has declined to press charges at this time. We'll keep you updated on the situation. For now, we're not moving Hill in the 2023 WR Rankings -- but it's not crazy to pass on him in the first five or six picks of fantasy drafts if you want to avoid any suspension risk.
UPDATE: The employee has decided to press charges. We'll continue to monitor this story for developments.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill said in a recent radio appearance that he plans on retiring after the 2025 season. Hill will be 31 at that point. "I'm going for 10 [seasons], man," Hill said. "I'm gonna finish out this contract with the Dolphins and then I'm gonna call it quits. I want to go into the business side." Plans can change, of course -- especially if Hill is still healthy and playing at a high level a few years down the road. But this is certainly worth filing away for dynasty players.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill injured an ankle in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Jets and is officially questionable to return. We'll update his status when we know more.
Update: Hill returned for the start of the 2nd half.
Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle used an 84-yard TD to power a 5-143-1 receiving line in Sunday's loss to the Packers. He and WR Tyreek Hill tied for the team lead with 6 targets apiece. Hill caught 4 balls for 103, including a 52-yard reception. It's Waddle's 2nd straight game over 100 yards, but there's some luck involved in delivering plays of 67+ in each contest. Waddle posted a nice catch rate against Green Bay but had caught just 42.3% of targets over the previous 4 games. His QB has struggled over the past 4 weeks relative to previous performance. Both wideouts will be in fantasy football lineups in most cases for a Week 17 trip to New England, in spite of QB Tua Tagovailoa's recent performance.
