Raiders RB Josh Jacobs' status for Thursday night's game vs. the Chargers is "firmly in doubt," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Jacobs did not practice at all this week with his quad injury. We have him projected to miss this game, leaving the backfield to Zamir White and Ameer Abdullah. We'll get Las Vegas' inactives a little before 7 pm ET tonight.

The Raiders list RB Josh Jacobs (quad) as questionable for Thursday night's game vs. the Chargers. He didn't practice all week and seems unlikely to play, but we'll look for further updates on his status. Jacobs' absence would leave Zamir White as Vegas' likely lead back, with Ameer Abdullah handling passing downs.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs did not practice on Tuesday. He's on the injury report with a quad, rather than the previously reported knee. Regardless, Jacobs doesn't look particularly likely to play vs. the Chargers on Thursday night. That'd leave RB Zamir White as Vegas' likely lead ball carrier, with RB Ameer Abdullah handling passing-game work.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs hurt his right knee in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Vikings. He's officially questionable to return. We'll update Jacobs' status when we know more. His absence leaves Vegas' backfield to Zamir White and Ameer Abdullah.

The Raiders and RB Josh Jacobs have agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $12 million, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. It's the same thing RB Saquon Barkley got from the Giants. Each RB was limited in what he could get once the July deadline passed for franchise-tagged players to sign long-term contracts. This new pact brings Jacobs back with still more than two weeks before the regular-season opener. We'll see how quickly Jacobs' ADP rebounds. He has commonly been going in Round 3 of recent drafts. He's certainly a nice value in that range and can make sense anywhere from the second half of Round 2 on -- depending on your format. Jacobs never moved much in our fantasy football rankings this summer.

Raiders RBs Zamir White and Ameer Abdullah have been splitting first-team work with RB Josh Jacobs still holding out, according to The Athletic's Tashan Reed. White has been handling "most of the carries," with Abdullah playing in passing situations. That's how we'd expect this backfield to operate if Jacobs misses regular-season games. White's ADP has remained in check, making him an intriguing bench stash as we continue to monitor the Jacobs holdout.

Raiders beat writer Vincent Bonsignore doesn’t expect the team to extend RB Josh Jacobs prior to Monday’s deadline. Jacobs hasn’t signed his franchise tag, so he’s not subject to fines if he skips training camp. Bonsignore expects Jacobs to show up for the regular season and calls a trade “unlikely.” The 25-year-old finished at RB3 last year, boosted by a massive 393 touches. He'll remain an RB1 when active, but second-year man Zamir White brings plenty of intrigue as a late-round handcuff. Get White starred on your cheat sheet.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero suggested in a recent interview on The Rich Eisen Show that Raiders RB Josh Jacobs could hold out into the regular season. "If there’s not a long-term deal I don’t anticipate Jacobs being there at the start of training camp and I don’t know that he shows up Week 1," Pelissero said. Jacobs was slapped with the franchise tag earlier this offseason, which would pay him $10.1 million this year. Skipping training camp wouldn't cost him any money, but he'd forfeit one-seventeenth of that salary for each game he misses. Jacobs and the Raiders have until July 17 to agree to a long-term deal. Until we have a resolution to this situation, Jacobs carries elevated risk in fantasy drafts. RB Zamir White would be the favorite to take over early-down work if Jacobs holds out into the regular season. RB Ameer Abdullah is still around to handle passing downs.

The Raiders plan to use the franchise tag on RB Josh Jacobs, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. The tag deadline is Tuesday, so there's still time for a longer-term deal before the tag is applied. Using the tag would give a mid-July deadline for a longer-term pact. The Raiders, of course, declined the fifth-year option on Jacobs' rookie contract before 2022 ... and then handed him the largest workload of his career and watched him lead the NFL in rushing. If he plays on the franchise tag, Jacobs will make roughly $2 million more than he would have on the original option year. either way, expect him to remain the Raiders' workhorse for 2023. And go back to paying little attention to RB Zamir White.

1:20pm EST 1/7/23

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (hip, oblique) is active for today’s game against Kansas City. Jacobs is the NFL’s leading rusher, and he’ll look to pad his lead in a friendly matchup. Just be aware that the Raiders — now out of the postseason picture — could take a long look at rookie Zamir White.

The Athletic's Vic Tafur believes there's a "good chance [Raiders RB Zamir] White will get his first serious action of the season" vs. the Chiefs on Saturday. RB Josh Jacobs is listed as questionable with hip and oblique injuries and missed Wednesday and Thursday's practices due to a personal issue. The Raiders have nothing to play for in the finale, so it'd make sense for them to get a look at White -- especially with Jacobs set to hit free agency in March. White is only worth considering in Saturday DFS contests, but Jacobs' floor and ceiling is lower in Week 18 than it's been all season.

7:35pm EST 12/24/22

Raiders RB Zamir White (ankle) is inactive for tonight’s game against Pittsburgh. The rookie hasn’t handled more than 3 carries in a game this season. Josh Jacobs will be busy once again.

X-rays on Raiders RB Josh Jacobs' pinkie came back clean during Thursday night's loss to the Rams, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That was the assumption considering Jacobs was allowed to re-enter the game. He's still scheduled for additional testing on the finger, though, so he's not quite out of the woods yet. We'll update Jacobs' status when we know more. Rookie RB Zamir White would likely take over as Vegas' lead ball carrier if Jacobs misses time, with RB Ameer Abdullah playing in passing situations.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs hurt his right hand in the 2nd half of Thursday night's game against the Rams. He's officially questionable to return.

Update: Jacobs did return in the 3rd quarter.

For the 2nd straight week, Raiders RB Josh Jacobs cast aside a "questionable" tag and delivered a big game. Despite reporter warnings that the team would need to manage Jacobs' calf injury, he racked up 144 yards and a TD on 26 carries in Sunday's win over the Chargers. Jacobs is working on a streak of 3 straight 100+ yard games and hasn't logged fewer than 21 carries since Week 9. He added 2 catches for 6 yards Sunday. RBs Zamir White and Amber Abdullah combined for just 3 touches against the Chargers. Week 14 brings a matchup with a Rams defense that expects to miss Aaron Donald for the 2nd straight game. The short turnaround could challenge Jacobs' calf ... though it looks like a calf-questionable Jacobs might be the best version of him.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs is not expected to practice much, if at all, this week with his calf strain, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. "He’ll get around-the-clock treatment in hopes of playing Sunday against the Chargers," Pelissero adds. It's a surprising report after Jacobs blew up for 303 total yards and 2 TDs vs. the Seahawks last week -- after hurting that calf on Friday. We'll keep you updated on his status throughout the week. If Jacobs can't go on Sunday, Vegas would likely deploy a committee with RBs Zamir White, Ameer Abdullah and Brandon Bolden.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs put forth a solid fantasy outing in Sunday's loss to the Colts, thanks primarily to his 1st TD in 3 weeks. Jacobs rushed 21 times for 78 yards, including the 1-yard score in the 3rd quarter. He added 6 receptions for 28 yards (among 8 targets) to make it a strong PPR performance. Zamir White drew the only other RB carries, losing a yard on 2 attempts. Amber Abdullah claimed 4 targets, catching all 4 for 33 yards. Next comes a tough Denver defense in Week 11. Jacobs had little trouble in the 1st meeting, though, rushing for 28-144-2 and adding 5 catches for 31 yards.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs drew 17 of the team's 19 carries in Sunday's loss at Jacksonville but gained a just-OK 67 yards (3.9 per rush). He added 3 catches for 20 yards (6.7 per reception) on 3 targets. RBs Brandon Bolden and Zamir White got 1 carry apiece. RB Ameer Abdullah drew 3 targets, catching 1 for 8 yards.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs shook off an illness that rendered him questionable for Sunday's game and again dominated backfield work. He handled 13 of Las Vegas' 16 RB carries and beat Brandon Bolden 6-2 in targets. Bolden was the only other RB to see the field. He trailed Jacobs by 20 total snaps and 9 routes. Jacobs ran for a decent 66 yards on his 13 attempts and caught 5 balls for 31 yards. He narrowly missed reaching the end zone on a 2nd-quarter run that set up Davante Adams' short TD catch.
