Arizona Cardinals Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Cardinals WR Trey McBride (groin) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Steelers. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday, so we’re expecting him to play. But you’ll need to check Shark Bites around 11:30 am ET on Sunday to make sure McBride is active.

Cardinals TE Trey McBride (groin) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He should be available for this weekend's game vs. the Steelers, but we'll see how he's listed on the final injury report tomorrow.

Cardinals TE Trey McBride (groin) was sidelined for Wednesday's practice. We don't have any other details on the groin issue, but McBride played his usual allotment of snaps in last week's loss to the Rams. We'll see if he gets back on the field tomorrow.

Cardinals RB Emari Demercado (toe) is active for today’s game vs. the Rams. It’ll be his first action since Week 8. RB Michael Carter will also make his Arizona debut today, while RB Keaontay Ingram is a healthy scratch. James Conner should still operate as the Cardinals’ clear lead back.

11:31am EST 11/26/23

Jaguars WR Zay Jones (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Texans. He returned from the knee injury to play last week but remained limited in practice all this week. Jones likely still isn’t at 100% and is no better than a WR4 in fantasy lineups.

Jaguars WR Zay Jones (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Texans. He returned from the knee injury to play last week and should be available this weekend. But it’s clear that Jones still isn’t at 100%. He’d be a shaky Week 12 fantasy play.

Cardinals WR Michael Wilson (shoulder) is out for this weekend's game vs. the Rams. He's been sidelined since re-injuring his shoulder last Friday. Now we wait to see whether WR Marquise Brown (heel) is able to play on Sunday. If not, the Cardinals will be down to Greg Dortch and Rondale Moore as their top two WRs.

Cardinals WR Michael Wilson (shoulder) did not practice on Wednesday. The rookie re-injured his shoulder last Friday and missed the Texans game. We'll see if he can get back on the practice field tomorrow. WR Greg Dortch stepped into a near every-down role with Wilson out last week.

Falcons HC Arthur Smith said Monday that he plans to go with QB Desmond Ridder as the starter the rest of the season, according to ESPN's Michael Rothstein. That aligns with reports on Smith's plans from before he announced the switch back at QB. Neither Atlanta QB has played well for a meaningful stretch this season. So this situation likely doesn't mean a lot for fantasy impact. We'll see whether Falcons coaches succeeded in correcting Ridder's pitfalls while he was out of the lineup.

Cardinals LB Kyzir White left Sunday's loss to the Texans with an elbow injury and did not return. That left Josh Woods and Krys Barnes as Arizona's top non-edge LBs. We'll watch for more on White's outlook. But Woods will be worth a look on waivers in deeper leagues ahead of Week 12.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray tallied 214 yards and one score passing and 51 yards and another TD rushing in the Week 11 loss to the Texans. The passing performance left plenty to be desired. Murray averaged a decent 7.1 yards per attempt but had a handful of misfires, including underthrowing WR Marquise Brown on a potential long TD. But Murray was again active and productive as a runner. He's now totaled 13 carries, 84 yards, and two TDs over the last two weeks. That will keep him in the lower-end QB1 mix going forward, with upside beyond that if he settles in as a passer. Murray gets neutral matchups the next two weeks vs. the Rams and Steelers before a Week 14 bye.

Cardinals RB Michael Carter is a healthy scratch for today's game vs. the Texans. Not a big surprise after he was acquired earlier this week. With RB Emari Demercado out with his toe injury, it'll be RBs Tony Jones and Keaontay Ingram behind James Conner.

Cardinals WR Michael Wilson (shoulder) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Texans. WR Zach Pascal (hamstring) is also out, leaving WRs Rondale Moore, Greg Dortch, and Andre Baccellia behind No. 1 Marquise Brown. Moore is a more intriguing WR4 or flex play with Wilson out. See where all the Cardinals sit in the Week 11 WR Rankings.

11:33am EST 11/19/23

Jaguars WR Zay Jones (knee) is active for today’s game against the Titans. He remained limited in practice all week and would be a risky fantasy play in his first action since Week 5.

The Falcons will start QB Desmond Ridder vs. the Saints in Week 12, according to NFL Network. QB Taylor Heinicke didn't prove to be an upgrade over the last three games, completing just 55% of his passes at 6.7 yards per attempt. So Atlanta will go back to Ridder, who's registered a 65% completion rate and 7.1 yards per attempt this season. "The Falcons believed the bulk of Ridder's mistakes were correctable & felt he had a lot of learning to do," NFL Network's James Palmer tweeted. "A move back to him was always planned unless Taylor Heinicke went on a ridiculous run. It wasn't like they fell out of love with Ridder. Needed a reset." Ridder sat 18th among QBs in fantasy points through Week 7 and will return as a mid-range QB2. The Falcons have the ninth-toughest remaining QB schedule, although there are positive matchups vs. the Colts and Bears in Weeks 16 and 17.

Cardinals WR Michael Wilson (shoulder) is not expected to play vs. the Texans today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The rookie aggravated his shoulder injury in Friday's practice. Arizona will also be without WR Zach Pascal (hamstring) today, leaving Greg Dortch as the likely No. 3 WR. That arrangement figures to push WR Rondale Moore to the outside when the Cardinals go with three WRs. Moore, WR Marquise Brown, and TE Trey McBride have a chance to pick up an extra target or two with Wilson out.

Cardinals WR Michael Wilson (shoulder) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Texans. He was added to the injury report on Friday and limited in practice. Wilson missed Week 9 with a shoulder injury and then played through a questionable tag last week. It's unclear at this point whether he's in danger of missing this Sunday's game. We'll look for updates on his status and get Arizona's inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday.

Jaguars WR Zay Jones (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game agains the Titans after a limited week of practice. It looks like Jones has a shot to return for this one, but we’d try not to use him in fantasy lineups in his first action since early October.

Jaguars WR Zay Jones (knee) remained limited in Wednesday's practice. He got in three limited practices last week before missing the 49ers game. Jones, of course, is also facing misdemeanor domestic battery charges, although that situation is unlikely to prevent him from playing this weekend. We'll see about the knee.

The Cardinals have claimed former Jets RB Michael Carter off waivers. That gives Arizona a back who has averaged 2.4 receptions per game since he entered the league in 2021. Carter figures to work into some rushing role as well. But his greatest impact is likely to come in the passing game. The Cardinals had already favored pulling RB James Conner off the field for some passing situations, using Emari Demercado earlier this season. Week 10 found them giving the combo of Keaontay Ingram and Tony Jones Jr. nearly as many routes as Conner (13-10) in his return game. Carter brings more proven receiving ability than all of those RBs and could further cut into Conner's receiving. That doesn't doom the Arizona starter but hurts his weekly stability, especially when his team falls behind. Carter isn't likely to deliver much fantasy value the rest of the way and should be no more than a low-level PPR stash. You can drop Demercado if you haven't already. Conner remains a low-end RB2 option. Check our Week 11 RB rankings to see where he sits for the matchup with Houston.
