Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Saints TE Adam Trautman hurt his ankle in the 1st half of Sunday's game vs. the Bengals. He tried to return in the 2nd half but was unable to stay on the field. He's officially questionable to return.
Broncos WR Courtland Sutton scored his first TD of the season in Week 4. He added 5 catches for 52 yards on a team-high 7 targets (28%). Denver ran only 48 plays in a road loss to Vegas, but it was nice to see Sutton convert on his 3rd end zone target of the season. Losing RB Javonte Williams to a knee injury — potentially for an extended absence — might push this offense to more passing in the weeks ahead. Regardless, Sutton is locked in as a weekly starter.
Broncos DT D.J. Jones (concussion) is active for today's game against the Raiders.
Titans LB Zach Cunningham (elbow) is out for Sunday's game against the Colts. CB Roger McCreary (back) is questionable. We'll update his status Sunday morning.
Jets QB Zach Wilson (knee) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll start Sunday’s game vs. the Steelers. Wilson shouldn’t be in fantasy lineups, of course. We’ll see what the move from Joe Flacco to Wilson means for New York’s skill-position guys.
Dolphins S Brandon Jones (chest) and CB Xavien Howard (groin, glute) are active for tonight's game against the Bengals. It's a positive matchup for both defenders.
Dolphins S Brandon Jones (chest) and CB Xavien Howard (groin, glute) are questionable for Thursday night's game at Cincinnati. He did put in limited practices the past 2 days. We'll check his availability Thursday evening.
Jets HC Robert Saleh announced Wednesday that QB Zach Wilson has been medically cleared from the meniscus tear and bone bruise he suffered in his knee in mid-August. Barring a setback this week, Wilson will start Sunday's game vs. the Steelers. He shouldn't be in fantasy lineups, but we'll see what he means for New York's skill-position guys. QB Joe Flacco currently leads the NFL with 155 pass attempts but completed just 59% of them and averaged an ugly 5.8 yards per attempt. Wilson is certainly capable of beating those numbers.
Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy played through his questionable tag for Sunday night's win over the 49ers. He spent 20 fewer snaps on the field than WR Courtland Sutton but ran only 9 fewer routes (39-30, according to Pro Football Focus). Sutton led the team, though, in targets (10), receptions (8) and receiving yards (97). No one else on the team reached 30 receiving yards. Jeudy added 2 catches for 17 yards on 6 targets. His 1 missed connection was a narrowly completed deep ball that got tipped by the covering corner just before reaching Jeudy's hands. We'd bet on that playing-time gap closing as Jeudy gets further beyond his Week 2 injury.
Titans LB Zach Cunningham (knee) is active for today's game against the Raiders.
Jets QB Zach Wilson is expected to be cleared by doctors next week to return from the meniscus tear and bone bruise in his knee, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "That puts him in line to play against the Steelers in Week 4," Rapoport adds. We'll track Wilson's practice participation this week and then see how he fares after what was reportedly an up-and-down offseason.
Jets QB Zach Wilson (knee) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Bengals. He reportedly has a shot to return in Week 4. QB Joe Flacco gets another start this weekend.
Broncos WR Courtland Sutton posted a 7-122 receiving line on 11 targets in Sunday's win over Houston. He accounted for 50% of Russell Wilson's total completions on a sluggish offensive day and claimed 35.5% of targets. Jerry Jeudy left early with a chest injury, but the team doesn't expect it to be serious. We'll see about Jeudy's Week 3 availability. No other Bronco exceeded 4 targets against the Texans.
The Jets continue to target a Week 4 return for QB Zach Wilson (knee), according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Wilson got in 3 limited practices this week and threw before Sunday's game in Cleveland. We'll continue to track his progress.
Jets QB Zach Wilson (knee) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Browns. He got in 3 limited practices this week, so perhaps he’s back for Week 3. QB Joe Flacco gets another start this weekend.
Broncos WR Courtland Sutton tallied 4 catches for 72 yards in Monday’s loss at Seattle. Sutton tallied 30 yards on a scramble-drill play, then drew an overthrown end zone target on the very next snap. Later, he drew a pass interference call on another deep pass. On the day, Sutton matched Jerry Jeudy in targets (7). It’s only a matter of time before the deep balls hit here, especially as the entire offense settles into a new system. Next up is a home date with Houston and top draft pick (CB) Derek Stingley.
Broncos LB Josey Jewell is doubtful for Monday night's game against the Seahawks with a calf injury that kept him out of practice both Friday and Saturday. That clears the way for Jonas Griffith to work as lead LB in the opener. Griffith missed most of the preseason with an elbow injury suffered early in the 1st exhibition, but he practiced in full all week and is off the injury report. Denver also lists EDGE Randy Gregory as questionable with shoulder and knee issues. We'd plan to not use Gregory in Week 1 IDP lineups, given the late kickoff.
Jets HC Robert Salah said Monday it’s “possible” QB Zach Wilson will start Week 1. Wilson went through a workout today, and the team will see how his knee responds by Wednesday. Odds remain against Wilson suiting up for the opener vs. Baltimore, but this will be a storyline to track. Joe Flacco will draw the start if Wilson's not ready.
ESPN reports that Jets QB Zach Wilson is still likely to miss at least the regular-season opener. But Dianna Russini says the team feels "really good" about his chances of getting back onto the field soon, perhaps even ahead of Week 1. It's certainly possible that Wilson is technically cleared to play in the opener but the Jets opt for Joe Flacco and led the 2nd-year QB ease back in. We'll keep an eye on the situation. Don't expect it to alter our projections for other in the Jets' offense, though.
Jets QB Zach Wilson had successful arthroscopic surgery on his right knee today, according to multiple reports. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Wilson had just a trim of the meniscus -- as hoped -- and has a shot to play Week 1. Wilson does also have the bone bruise in the knee, which will require rest to recover.
