The Saints have placed DE Cameron Jordan on the COVID list. We'll see whether his situation gives him a chance to return for Sunday's game at the Jets. New Orleans has already been down DE Marcus Davenport (shoulder) the past 2 weeks and could be in particularly rough shape at the edge spots if Jordan remains out.
The NFL last week fined Saints EDGE Cameron Jordan -- as well as 2 coaches and the franchise -- for allegedly faking an injury late in the Week 13 loss to the Buccaneers. But the team and player both say MRI the next day revealed a mid-foot sprain in Jordan's left foot that he has been getting treated for through the bye week. We'll see about Jordan's status for Sunday's game against the Falcons, but he returned to that Bucs game. So we'd bet he'll be ready to play.
Saints EDGE Cameron Jordan (eye) is active for today's game against the 49ers, as is EDGE Marcus Davenport (calf). CB Marshon Lattimore (abdomen) is inactive. He still hasn't played since Week 5, recovering from what NewOrleans.Football calls a kidney injury.
Saints EDGE Cameron Jordan (eye) is questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers. He managed limited practices all week after missing the 1st game of his career with an orbital-bone injury. We'd bet on him returning. EDGE Marcus Davenport (calf) and CB Marshon Lattimore (abdomen) are also questionable. Lattimore is the one to watch. If he's ready to go, it would be his 1st appearance since Week 5.
Saints DE Cameron Jordan got booted from Sunday's loss to the Chiefs after the 3rd play of the 4th quarter. He got penalized for throwing a punch, a penalty that moved K.C. down inside the New Orleans 15-yard line to set up RB Le'Veon Bell's TD run. We don't expect the episode to affect Jordan's availability for Week 16.
Saints DE Cameron Jordan had February surgery to deal with herniated discs in his back, an issue he played through last season. ESPN's Mike Triplett reports that doctors have yet to clear Jordan to return to the field but that the player says he's "ahead of schedule." Jordan added, “I can’t give out a timetable for me being back 100 percent, but I do know that we’ll be well within camp, season." He posted a top-10 fantasy season in 2015 that included 10 sacks, with half of those coming over just 2 games. Sorting out the back issue can only help, as should the arrival of 1st-round DE Sheldon Rankins. We'll see when Jordan gets back to 100%.
