The Rams believe RB Darrell Henderson suffered a knee sprain in today's win over the Vikings, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "The hope is it’s minor, but he’ll have an MRI on Monday that will tell the full story," Rapoport adds. So we should learn more tomorrow. Henderson, though, is off the fantasy radar now that Sony Michel has taken over as the Rams' feature back.
The Rams released RB Darrell Henderson, making room for RB Kyren Williams to re-join the roster. Henderson was abysmal as a runner over the past four games, averaging just 2.4 yards per carry. He was easily out-played by RB Royce Freeman, who will be the No. 2 going forward. The move to dump Henderson is a good sign that the Rams feel good about Williams' ankle. He should return as Los Angeles' clear lead runner and handle most passing downs.
The duo of veteran RBs Darrell Henderson Jr. and Royce Freeman led the way for the Rams’ rushing attack in Week 7 vs. the Steelers with a combined 30 carries between them. Henderson Jr. logged 18 carries for 61 rushing yards and a score in the loss, while Freeman accumulated 66 yards on 12 attempts. Turns out rookie RB Zach Evans was not the correct waiver wire pickup from the Rams’ backfield, as he did not see a single offensive snap in the contest. Fantasy managers who play in leagues where Henderson Jr. or Freeman are still available on waivers this coming week should seek their services ahead of next Sunday’s contest vs. the Cowboys.
The Rams are signing RB Darrell Henderson to their practice squad. That's an especially interesting move because L.A. waived him just last season from a backfield that wasn't exactly loaded. Of course, the addition comes in the wake of Kyren Williams spraining an ankle and Ronnie Rivers spraining a knee. Rookie Zach Evans and molasses-fast veteran Royce Freeman are the only healthy RBs on the current active roster. We'll see whether the team elevates Henderson to the active roster for Sunday's game against the Steelers. For now, Evans remains the best bet for touches in a backfield that doesn't look especially attractive.
The Jaguars announced Friday that they have waived RB Darrell Henderson. He didn't play a snap after being claimed off waivers from the Rams on Nov. 23. We'd guess the 25-year-old will land somewhere. New Orleans seems like a strong candidate -- and upside landing spot -- after losing RB Mark Ingram on Monday night for what's likely to be the rest of the season. Jacksonville retains Snoop Conner and JaMycal Hasty behind Travis Etienne, with Mekhi Sargent on the practice squad.
Jaguars HC Doug Pederson said Friday that RB Darrell Henderson won't be ready to play this weekend vs. the Ravens. Henderson was just claimed by Jacksonville on Wednesday. He could eventually win the #2 RB job, but it'll be JaMycal Hasty in that spot behind Travis Etienne for at least 1 more game.
