Rams CB Jalen Ramsey had surgery Tuesday on his left shoulder. NFL Network's Ian Rapport reports that Ramsey played through tears in both shoulders last season. The team expects Ramsey to be ready for the regular season, but we'll see how long he's out of action. This seems odd timing for the operation, just a little more than a month away from the start of training camp.
The Rams have activated CB Jalen Ramsey from the COVID list, making him eligible to play Tuesday against the Seahawks. Ramsey has been in our Week 15 DB rankings and might carry even more upside if Tyler Lockett misses the game. (He's no lock to make it off the COVID list before the game.) No Lockett would likely mean even more targets for D.K. Metcalf, whom Ramsey figures to shadow as much as possible.
The Rams have placed CB Jalen Ramsey on the COVID list, which means he'll miss the Monday night matchup with Arizona. That leaves L.A. without its lead cover man and can only enhance the matchup for Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins -- as well as the rest of the pass-catchers. It's not clear what the plan will be at corner, where the Rams already had to place slot CB Dont'e Deayon on the COVID list. David Long figures to join Darious Williams in the starting lineup. The #3 spot appears up in the air. Williams and Long are the only 2 CBs on the active roster on the team website. The next man up could be an extra safety or former Giants DB Grant Haley (listed as a "DB").
Rams CB Jalen Ramsey did not play in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins because of an illness. It came as a surprise, as Ramsey was active for the game. HC Sean McVay said afterward that Ramsey woke up feeling sick and they determined around game time that he couldn't play. He said testing found it wasn't COVID related but refused to elaborate on Ramsey's condition otherwise -- other than to say he would be traveling home with the team. The Rams now get a Week 9 bye, so we assume Ramsey should be ready for the next game.
Less than a week after arriving to the Rams via trade, CB Jalen Ramsey is off the week's final injury report and thus ready to make his Rams debut. Ramsey missed his final 3 games in Jacksonville with a back injury. He's not a strong IDP option, but we should expect full playing time here. And we might get Ramsey shadowing Falcons WR Julio Jones. That would add upside to his fantasy outlook and makes Ramsey interesting for CB-required formats.
Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey (back) is inactive for today's game against the Saints. It'll be his 3rd straight missed game since the Thursday night win over the Titans that followed Ramsey's trade request. Ramsey's absence can only help a matchup that was already positive for Teddy Bridgewater and Saints receivers.
