Cardinals QB Kyler Murray underwhelmed with 142 passing yards and 1 TD in Week 4. He added only 3 rushing yards in a blowout loss to Washington. Prior to Sunday, Murray hit 20 rushing yards in eight straight going back to last season.
Here's Kyler on where the team fell short on Sunday:
“We got to be able to stay on the field," he said. "That will take a lot of pressure off the defense. We all work together. When you can’t stay on the field on third down, the defense is always on the field, they get worn down.”
Arizona converted only 4 of 11 third-down opportunities. They managed a low 5.1 yards per play.
Murray entered the game without TE Trey McBride (concussion), but this was still a surprising result.
Murray took 4 sacks and was pressured on 37% of his dropbacks. The Cardinals fell behind in the first half, allowing the Washington pass rush to tee off.
Marvin Harrison Jr. scored the only TD from Murray. It came on a perfectly thrown ball in tight coverage on 4th and 1.
Arizona will look to rebound this week against a 49ers squad allowing only 215 passing yards per game.
