Zach Charbonnet posted his best numbers of the season, carrying 18 times for 110 yards and a pair of TDs to lead the Seahawks to a 27-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers. The attempts and yardage marks were Charbonnet's highest of the season and marked the first time since Week 13 that he received more carries in a game than Kenneth Walker III.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Entering this game, Walker held a 47-40% lead in backfield carries. Walker drew the start and was featured in Seattle's opening drive, but both backs were involved for the remainder of the game.
Charbonnet proved to be more effective in this one. Walker carried 15 times for 51 yards and caught both of this targets for 6 yards. Charbonnet also received a pair of targets, catching both for 12 yards.
Both of Charbonnet's scores came in short-yardage. His first was a 2-yard plunge in the third quarter to give Seattle a 10-3 lead. His second score came from 1-yard out with 2:31 remaining to seal the deal for the Seahawks.
Charbonnet has outsnapped Walker this season and holds an 11-5 lead in TDs. He's been the better fantasy option for most of the season, despite commanding fewer touches.
Walker is a pending unrestricted free agent and is expected to test the open market.
That puts Charbonnet in a position to open the 2026 season as Seattle's lead back.
Considering how productive he's been as part of a committee, that makes Charbonnet an intriguing hold in dynasty leagues. If he enters next season as the clear No. 1 option in Mike Macdonald's backfield, Charbonnet would be a strong RB2.
As for Walker, he will draw plenty of interest from RB-needy teams. Walker, Breece Hall, Travis Etienne, Javonte Williams, Rico Dowdle, and J.K. Dobbins lead a solid group of veteran runners potentially looking for new homes next season.
For Week 18, the Seahawks and 49ers will play for the NFC West crown and the conference's No. 1 seed, so there is plenty at stake.
Expect Charbonnet and Walker to both see plenty of work in the regular-season finale, putting both backs in RB2 territory against a San Francisco defense that has allowed the 14th-most fantasy points to RBs.
