The Seattle Seahawks selected Notre Dame RB Jadarian Price in Round 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft. Price was overshadowed being behind Jeremiyah Love, but he stood on his own merits. After rebounding from a ruptured Achilles in 2022, he showed consistent burst, power, and efficiency. That produced 6.0 career yards per carry and 10.8 per catch (albeit on only 15 career receptions). The Athletic’s Dane Brugler went so far as to say Price may have generated Heisman buzz had he transferred out of Notre Dame in 2025. Instead, Price hits the NFL with limited wear on his body. Among the 20 RBs invited to the NFL Combine, Price ranked 17th in 2025 rushing market share (27.5%), and third in yards after contact per attempt (3.92). He ranked second in 2025 missed tackles forced per attempt (0.28) and seventh in receiving yards per route run (1.23). He is currently 22 years old.
What They're Saying
Draft Sharks Rookie Guide: “Price never handled a feature workload while playing with Jeremiyah Love. But he squeezed maximum value out of limited touches over the past two seasons.”
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker Jr. left the Seahawks in free agency and signed with the Chiefs. RB Zach Charbonnet suffered a torn ACL in his left knee on January 26th. We currently project him to miss the first seven games of the season.
That puts Price as the likely starter for the Seahawks until Charbonnet comes back.
Price’s dynamic explosion and long speed makes him an ideal replacement for Walker and fit within the Seahawks offense.
He could have RB3 upside with most of Price’s booms happening early while Charbonnet is still recovering. But keep pumping the brakes on Price for your redraft leagues. The excitement could get out of control, making him more of an avoid. When the fantasy playoffs roll around, Price will likely be in the split that made Kenneth Walker frustrating last year.
Dynasty Impact
Price certainly fits the Seahawks system, but they seem intent on a two-RB system for the long term. Charbonnet will be a free agent after this season. The Seahawks could bring him back, and even if they don’t, Price is unlikely to go into 2027 as a bellcow runner.
The first round draft capital combined with landing spot could push Price up in rookie drafts. He likely will sit as the 1.05 in 1-QB and 1.06 in Superflex.
If you can’t trade out of those picks, that is fine, but don’t reach for him over the top three WRs.
