Second-year WR Emeka Egbuka appears positioned for a massive role increase in Tampa Bay’s new offense. ESPN’s Ben Solak highlighted Egbuka as a potential breakout candidate after Mike Evans departed in free agency, and new OC Zac Robinson compared Egbuka’s game to Cooper Kupp’s.Tampa Bay already saw what a featured Egbuka looks like: 25 catches, 445 yards, and 5 TDs in five games.
What They're Saying
OC Zac Robinson: “The amount of work and preparation that he puts into it, he's very similar to a Cooper Kupp just in terms of the way that his brain works with the game of football and natural instincts.”

Egbuka capitalized on Chris Godwin's absence early in his rookie season, as well as Evans going down in Week 3.
The first-round rookie led the team with at 90% route rate, 25 catches, 445 yards, and 5 TDs over the first five games. Egbuka ranked third among all WRs in fantasy points over that span and showed what he can do when Tampa gives him featured volume.
Egbuka then injured his hamstring in Week 6, and the injury affected his production. From there, Egbuka averaged just 8.1 PPR points per game and ranked WR43 over the final 11 weeks.
Evans is now in San Francisco, and Robinson’s background under Sean McVay suggests Tampa Bay will use more motion, free releases, and underneath timing concepts to maximize Egbuka’s strengths rather than forcing him into a vertical perimeter role.
Godwin turns 30 this season and missed 18 games over the past two years. McMillan and third-round rookie Ted Hurst figure to open the season behind those two on the depth chart.
If Robinson uses Egbuka the way the Rams featured Kupp, Egbuka could get enough volume to stay in the high-end WR2 conversation after another fast start.
Egbuka WR19 best ball ADP makes him a solid target, because he carries upside beyond that position.
