Chiefs WR Rashee Rice tested positive for THC, violating the terms of his probation from his 2024 car crash, according to Matt Foster of KSHB41 in Kansas City. Per court records, Rice was placed in custody and ordered to serve 30 days in jail. He's set to be released on June 16.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
We're waiting to learn more about this situation, but it's obviously a bad look for a guy who can't stay clean off the field.
Rice is now set to miss the Chiefs' OTA sessions from May 26-28 and June 1-3 and mandatory minicamp from June 9-11.
If there's good news for Rice, it's that the NFL's personal conduct policy no longer calls for suspensions for marijuana. It's unclear if Rice's previous off-field issues will play a factor here.
We're still projecting Rice to play all 17 games this season, but we'll continue to monitor the situation. And there clearly remains off-field risk here that should be baked into Rice's short- and long-term fantasy outlooks.
