Colts Brass Praise Tyler Warren’s Second-Year Development

The Colts expect Tyler Warren to take a step forward in Year 2, according to Mike Chappell of Fox 59. HC Shane Steichen said Warren is still growing and specifically pointed to improvement “coming in and out of breaks”. QB Daniel Jones said Warren is already “making a jump” this offseason. Warren finished TE11 with 11.1 PPR points per game, the 10th-most ever by a rookie TE, so another step could push him into the top three at the position, especially in PPR.

HC Shane Steichen: “But yeah, continuing to grow and continue to make plays like he’s doing.”

The productivity and effectiveness of the entire offense diminished after Jones started three games with a broken left leg, then suffered a season-ending torn right Achilles tendon during the Dec. 7 game at Jacksonville.”

Tyler Warren: “So, getting in the break is one thing, but being able to accelerate out of it… you create that space but being able to hold that space”

2026 Fantasy Football Impact

Warren was already one of the best pass-catching rookies in Colts history. He and Hall of Fame WR Marvin Harrison (118 in 1996) are the only Colts to lead the team in targets as a rookie, and Michael Pittman Jr.’s trade to the Steelers could send even more work his way.

Pittman’s 19.7% target share leaned heavily on short-to-intermediate work, including a 24% share of targets in the 1-9 yard range. Warren wasn’t far behind there at 22.3%, so he’s well positioned to absorb more of that work.

He also stands out as the Colts’ biggest threat over the middle, a natural fit for Jones’ short-to-intermediate tendencies.

A more explosive Warren makes for a pretty scary offensive weapon who could outperform even his high expectations.

That leaves Warren TE4 in our current PPR rankings, in the second TE tier alongside fellow second-year player Colston Loveland.
