Packers TE Tucker Kraft participated in full-team drills in Sunday's practice for the first time since last November's ACL tear. But the bigger story was what he told the media afterward about the potential for him to be on a snap count for the first half of the season.
What They're Saying
Kraft: “They’re going to take into account my rep range probably until halfway through the season, and then they’re going to just pat me on the ass and send me out there and send me to the wolves. ... Our job right now is to build my rep range so I'm capable of that Week 1."
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
It's no surprise Kraft won't be a full-go to start the season. He'll be a little over 10 months removed from the ACL tear by Week 1, and players typically need closer to 12 months to get back to 100%. It sounds like the Packers want Kraft to reach that mark before fully unleashing him.
What we don't know -- and probably won't until the season starts -- is what kind of "rep range" the Packers have in mind for Kraft. It's possible that they limit his snaps on run plays while keeping him near last year's 73% route rate.
Kraft isn't a safe fantasy pick coming off the knee injury, but the upside is obvious after he led all TEs in fantasy points through Week 8 last year.
He looked excellent in those full-team drills on Sunday, according to The Athletic's Matt Schneidman, catching all 5 targets from QB Jordan Love and scoring a TD.
