Saints RB Alvin Kamara left a scrimmage with the Dallas Cowboys with a knee injury, reported by Nick Underhill of Neworleans.Football. HC Kellen Moore confirmed after the joint practice, though he declined to comment on the extent of the knee injury. Underhill also reported that Kamara did not tear anything and will be out a few weeks with the injury.
What They're Saying: Moore Confirms Knee Issue
HC Kellen Moore: "Only two guys who weren't able to finish practice were Alvin with a knee, and then Quincy with a groin,"
Nick Underhill: "Alvin Kamara avoided a major knee injury. Didn’t tear anything. Will be out for a few weeks, per source"
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: No Reason to Draft Him With Injury
Kamara’s 2025 was one of the worst seasons of his career. Across 11 games, he set career lows in:
- carries (131)
- rushing yards (471)
- rushing TDs (1)
- catches (33)
- receiving yards (186)
- receiving TDs (0)
That led to the Saints signing Travis Etienne in the offseason to serve as the lead back.
Kamara has been a late-round redraft pick as it is, and missing a few weeks won't help him rise as a fantasy target over the rest of the preseason. There just is no reason to risk taking Kamara when he's already on the border of being draftable as RB50 in our PPR RB rankings.
He could fall a few spots with the uncertainty and potential that this lingers into the season.
