Bears WR Rome Odunze sparked concern in June when he talked about a "new normal" after injuring his left foot last season. But he clarified those comments at the start of camp and has shown no lingering effects on the practice field, according to The Athletic's Dan Wiederer. "After 15 camp practices, Odunze has 15 made positive deposits into his 2026 development bank," Wiederer writes. "And if there were any concerns that the foot injuries that limited him last season and eventually caused him to miss the final five regular-season games would linger, they have disintegrated."
What They're Saying
HC Ben Johnson on Odunze: "I’m really pleased with what it looks like between Caleb and him — where the ball is being placed and him being able to torque and go up for the football when needed. He brings a different element to the offense than maybe what I’ve been around in the past. I look forward to sinking into that.”
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Healthy Odunze Boasts Big Upside
Odunze opened last season hot, with only two WRs scoring more fantasy points over the first four weeks. The foot injury, plus bigger roles for TE Colston Loveland and WR Luther Burden, torpedoed his production from there, leaving him 55th among WRs in PPR points per game from Week 5 on.
The Loveland and Burden roadblocks return this year. But a healthy Odunze is certainly capable of pushing for the target lead in a potentially high-scoring Bears offense.
That makes him an upside target at his sixth-round, WR27 ADP.
