The Texans released RB Marlon Mack from their practice squad. He remains well off the redraft radar and certainly isn't a must-hold in dynasty. Houston added WR Chris Conley to the practice squad in a corresponding move.
The Texans released WR Chris Conley. That leaves them with just 4 WRs on the roster: Brandin Cooks, Nico Collins, Chris Moore and Phillip Dorsett. Houston figures to add to the position over the next few days, but Cooks and Collins are the only fantasy-relevant players here.
Texans WR John Metchie has been diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia. "I am currently receiving great medical care, am in good spirits and I expect to make a recovery at a later point in time," Metchie said in a statement. "As a result of this diagnosis, I will likely not be playing football this season. My main focus will be on my health and recovery." We'll keep tabs on Metchie and wish him the best in his recovery. The 2nd-round rookie projected as Houston's slot receiver once recovered from his torn ACL. The Texans are now left with WRs Chris Conley, Phillip Dorsett and Chris Moore behind Brandin Cooks and Nico Collins. TE Brevin Jordan might also benefit from Metchie's absence.
Texans WRs Nico Collins (foot) and Chris Conley (neck) are active for today’s game vs. Arizona. Neither is a bankable fantasy play.
Texans WRs Nico Collins (foot) and Chris Conley (neck) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Brandin Cooks is the only Houston WR that should be anywhere near fantasy lineups.
The Texans signed WR Chris Conley to a 1-year deal. A plus athlete, Conley has yet to emerge as a consistent producer through 6 NFL seasons. His 47-775-5 line with the Jaguars in 2019 stands as his best. Conley will battle with Randall Cobb, Keke Coutee and Chad Hansen for targets behind Brandin Cooks in Houston.
Jaguars WR D.J. Chark (shin) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Colts. It ends a disappointing season that saw the 3rd-year wideout post a 53-706-5 line in 13 games. With Jacksonville expected to use the 1st overall pick of this spring's draft on QB Trevor Lawrence, Chark will be a prime 2021 bounce-back candidate. WR Collin Johnson (hamstring) is also out for Week 17, leaving Laviska Shenault, Keelan Cole and Chris Conley as Jacksonville's top 3 WRs.
Jaguars WR Chris Conley (hip) is active for today’s game against the Vikings. He figures to operate as the #4 WR behind D.J. Chark, Keelan Cole and Laviska Shenault.
Jaguars WR D.J. Chark (ribs) isn't listed on the final injury report and will play against the Vikings this weekend. That's a plus matchup, and QB Mike Glennon played well enough last week to make Chark an upside WR3. WR Chris Conley (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game but is off the fantasy radar with Chark back. Keelan Cole and Laviska Shenault will serve as Jacksonville's #2 and #3 WRs.
Jaguars WRs D.J. Chark (ribs) and Chris Conley (hip) put in limited practices on Wednesday. Both guys missed last week's game vs. the Browns but have a shot to return for Sunday's game against the Vikings. We'll continue to keep an eye on their progress.
Jaguars WRs D.J. Chark (ribs) and Chris Conley (hip) are out for Sunday’s game against the Browns. WR Laviska Shenault is set to return from his hamstring injury and will join WR Keelan Cole atop the depth chart. Rookie Collin Johnson figures to operate as the #3 WR. It’s probably a situation to avoid with QB Mike Glennon making his 1st start with Jacksonville — but you can make an argument for Shenault and Cole as WR4s.
Jaguars QB Mike Glennon will start against the Browns this weekend, HC Doug Marrone announced on Wednesday. QB Gardner Minshew evidently isn't ready to return from his thumb injury, and the Jags have seen enough of QB Jake Luton. Glennon at least has 801 NFL pass attempts under his belt, completing 61% and averaging 6.4 yards per attempt. He's not a Week 12 fantasy option but should be an upgrade over Luton.
Jaguars WR Laviska Shenault (hamstring) is out for Sunday's game against the Steelers. D.J. Chark, Keelan Cole and Chris Conley will again serve as Jacksonville's top 3 WRs in that one.
Jaguars WR Laviska Shenault (hamstring) is out for Sunday’s game against the Packers. He’ll be replaced in the starting lineup by WR Chris Conley, who would be a desperation fantasy play.
Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook is a healthy scratch for today's opener vs. the Colts. That leaves D.J. Chark, Laviska Shenault and Chris Conley as Jacksonville's top 3 WRs. Chark is a strong fantasy play, while Westbrook's absence makes Shenault a more intriguing DFS tournament play.
The Jaguars are set to hire Jay Gruden as their new OC, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Gruden is coming off a failed stint as Washington's HC but did help the Redskins to top-17 finishes in total yards in each of his first 4 seasons, including a 3rd-place finish in 2016. Prior to that, Gruden spent 3 years as Cincinnati's OC. Those teams ranked 20th, 22nd and 10th in total yards. The big question in Jacksonville this offseason is what will happen at QB between Nick Foles, Gardner Minshew and potentially a rookie or free-agent addition.
Jaguars WR D.J. Chark (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Raiders. Dede Westbrook, Chris Conley and Keelan Cole will operate as Jacksonville's top 3 WRs and should soak up the majority of the 8.2 targets per game Chark leaves behind.
Jaguars HC Doug Marrone labeled WR D.J. Chark "week-to-week" with his ankle injury. He won't play against the Raiders this Sunday -- and don't bank on Chark for the final 2 games of the season. His absence this weekend will leave Dede Westbrook, Chris Conley and Keelan Cole as Jacksonville's top 3 WRs in a plus matchup.
