NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Cowboys EDGE Demarcus Lawrence and LB/EDGE Micah Parsons are expected to play today against the Giants. Further, he adds that Lawrence has been playing through a stress fracture in 1 of his feet. Lawrence said earlier in the week that he's dealing with issues in both feet and that his right knee "hurts worse than the feet," according to SI.com. Lawrence played a season-low 40% of the snaps last time out, but that followed a season-high 72%. He also has sacks in 3 straight contests. So the physical issues add risk, but there's still plenty of value to putting him into IDP fantasy football lineups.

Many expected Lawrence to move on, given Dallas' salary-cap issues. But the 8-year veteran heads into his age-30 campaign looking like he might finish his career a Cowboy. Lawrence lost 10 games to a foot fracture in 2021 and logged just 3 in the other 7. We'd bet on a 2022 rebound, but it's worth noting that Lawrence also tallied just 10 QB hits in 2020 -- his fewest in a season since becoming a starter. So he's probably not a great bet for double-digit sacks.

The Cowboys have designated DE Demarcus Lawrence to return from IR, and Jon Machota of The Athletic reports that he's expected to play Thursday night against the Saints. Lawrence has been out fracturing his left foot in practice leading up to Week 2. We'd hold him out of IDP lineups until seeing at least a game back from the veteran. The Cowboys will not get DE Randy Gregory back for Thursday night's game. He's on IR with a calf injury. We'll see about his Week 14 chances.

Lawrence had offseason surgery to repair a herniated disc in his back, which he said caused him some leg issues last season. “I feel like I’m in Phase 3 of the rehab out of four phases,” Lawrence told The Athletic. “I feel like I’m progressing real well. It’s all about getting the legs back and attacking and working myself in with the boys.” We'd rather have Lawrence be in Phase 4 by this point, but there's still time for him to round into shape. We'll see about reports on Lawrence's readiness as the season draws closer. There's a chance he plays healthier this season than last, which would obviously be good for his production.
