Eagles WR DeSean Jackson gave a pathetic effort on Thursday night against the Seahawks.  He reportedly spent most of pregame warmups with the defensive line, rather than working out with the rest of the receivers.  During the game, he ran most of his routes half-heartedly.  D-Jax was spotted staring off into space on the sidelines while QB Vince Young was talking to him.  "He's [messing] around," an unnamed teammate said of Jackson after the game.  The statistical results last night were 4 catches on 5 targets for 34 yards.  It was the 5th time this season that D-Jax has been held below 35 yards.  He'll be tough to trust as anything more than a WR3 the rest of the way.

Eagles WR DeSean Jackson got beat up during Sunday night's game against the Eagles.  He was examined for head and knee injuries early on, and then injured his foot later in the night.  D-Jax returned to the game, but he left the stadium in a walking boot.  It doesn't sound like a serious injury though.  “I was kind of out there running around and a player stepped on my foot,” Jackson said afterwards. “It’s a little sprain but it will be alright."  We should get another update later today, but we're tentatively expecting D-Jax to be available for Week 12.

Eagles HC Andy Reid confirmed that WR DeSean Jackson is still a starter.  The two reportedly met this morning and cleared the air.  "We put it all on the table and talked," Reid said.  It's become pretty clear that this situation has at least something to do with Jackson's desire for a new contract.  It'll certainly be a story to monitor the rest of the way.

Eagles beat writer Sheil Kapadia believes that WR DeSean Jackson could lose red zone snaps to WR Steve Smith when Smith gets healthy.  It makes some sense.  Despite being undersized, Smith was a major red zone weapon for the Giants, seeing 32 targets inside the opponent's 20-yard line over his last 25 games.  Jackson has always been a relative non-factor in the red zone.  But that's the same reason that his fantasy stock would almost be unaffected if he does lose snaps.  Just 4 of his 15 scores over the past 2 seasons have come from inside the 20.

Eagles WR DeSean Jackson is taking heat for his use of a gay slur during an interview on a hip hop radio station last month.  A caller questioned Jackson's toughness, and he responded by asking "what kind of question is that?" followed by the gay slur.  You can bet that the league will be taking a close look at this, although we'd bet against a suspension.

Eagles beat writer Jeff McLane believes WR DeSean Jackson stopped going across the middle and became a "one-trick pony" after taking a ferocious hit from Falcons CB Dunta Robinson in Week 6 last year.  "Jackson seemingly ran only deep routes," McLane says. "Defenses caught on and simply placed a centerfielding free safety as far back as the Monuments."  D-Jax is never going to earn his dough on short and intermediate routes, but he does need to be able to run them in order for his deeper patterns to be effective.  Despite his one-dimensional play, Jackson still posted 1,056 yards and 6 scores and finished 14th among WRs in fantasy points in 2010.

With their loss to the Vikings on Tuesday night, the Eagles are now locked into the #3 seed in the NFC and will likely rest some starters in the season finale.  QB Michael Vick, who was hobbling around on Tuesday, may not play at all.  RB LeSean McCoy, WR DeSean Jackson, and WR Jeremy Maclin will also likely have their snaps reduced.
