Vikings DE Everson Griffen missed practice Wednesday with a toe injury. We'll watch his status through the week heading into a Bills matchup with enormous upside.
Vikings DE Everson Griffen (foot) is active for today's game against the Rams. He missed last week's game but said this week he felt "great" and participated in practice every day. Return Griffen to your IDP lineups. DE Brian Robison (back) is inactive, which dings the team defense but shouldn't impact IDP lineups.
Vikings DE Everson Griffen (foot) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams. He entered last weekend questionable as well before going inactive against Washington. Griffen put in limited practices all week this time around, though, and said the foot "feels great" earlier this week. We're betting he'll play but will update his status Sunday.
Vikings DE Everson Griffen doesn't seem to have any question about whether he'll be ready to return to the lineup against the Rams this Sunday. “My foot feels great,” Griffen said Thursday, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “Yeah, I’ll be playing on Sunday for sure.” The matchup isn't great, but Griffen will be worth starting for most IDP owners if he's in there. We've bumped Griffen up the Week 11 IDP rankings.
Vikings DE Everson Griffen is inactive for today's game against Washington. He had expected to play in the game, but his injured foot reportedly didn't respond well to pre-game warmups. That takes a key IDP out of fantasy lineups and also hurts the outlook for the Minnesota team defense.
Vikings DE Everson Griffen is questionable for Sunday's game at Washington with a foot issue that cost him most of the practice week coming out of the bye. Griffen put in a limited workout Friday after sitting Wednesday and Thursday. He looks risky even if active, but Griffen has posted at least 1 sack in every game this season. IDP owners should wait in him and use Griffen in most cases.
Vikings DT Linval Joseph is doubtful for Sunday night's game at Green Bay after suffering a setback with the injured foot that cost him games earlier this season. Fortunately for Minnesota and IDP owners, all other defenders on the injury report this week are probable. That means you should use S Harrison Smith and DE Everson Griffen as you normally would.
Vikings DE Everson Griffen (shoulder) is active for today's game against the Bears, as he said he would be. Use him as you normally would in your IDP lineup. NT Linval Joseph (foot) is out once again, though, which hurts the Vikings' team D. They remain a streaming option if you're in need but will also be missing S Harrison Smith and OLB Anthony Barr. That makes Minnesota a risky option.
The Vikings have ruled S Harrison Smith (knee) and OLB Anthony Barr (groin, hand) out for Sunday's game against the Bears. DT Linval Joseph (foot) will be a game-time decision. That makes him iffy for IDP lineups, considering Joseph has yet to put in a full practice since suffering the injury. DE Everson Griffen (shoulder) is also questionable after returning to a limited practice Friday. According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, he said Thursday that he expects to play. "No setback," he said. "It's just not where I want it to be yet."
Vikings S Harrison Smith (knee) is inactive today against the Falcons. Antone Exum will start in his place. DE Everson Griffen (hip) is active, as he said he would be. Use him as you normally would in your IDP league. The Vikings D takes a hit without Smith but remains usable in fantasy football.
Two key Vikings defenders are questionable for Sunday's game in Atlanta. S Harrison Smith (knee) and DE Everson Griffen (hip, shoulder) each returned to limited practices Friday after missing the previous 2 days. HC Mike Zimmer told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that he thought both would play Sunday. Griffen declared himself ready, while Smith reportedly only talked about trying to get ready. We'll update their statuses Sunday morning.
Vikings DE Everson Griffen left Sunday's win over the Bears early because of a right shoulder stinger. "I'll be OK," Griffen told the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "I'm a warrior, but (shoulder stingers) hurt bad. I'm one tough (guy), but, whoo. I've been dealing with them for awhile. They're getting better, but we've got to figure out what I've got to do." HC Mike Zimmer added that his top pass-rusher should "be fine" going forward. The Vikings host St. Louis in Week 9.
Vikings DE Everson Griffen is inactive today against the Chiefs because of illness. Rookie Danielle Hunter will reportedly start in his place. That's a big loss for the Vikings' D, but Hunter does bring enticing athletic upside. The D-line -- and front 7 overall -- remain talented without him, too. So don't be afraid to use the Minnesota team D in fantasy.
As expected, Vikings DE Everson Griffen is active for the opener against the Rams. He had been questionable because of an illness but was expected to play. Griffen's safe to use as you normally would have in your IDP league.
The Vikings list DE Everson Griffen as questionable for Sunday's opener vs. St. Louis because of an illness that kept him out for almost all of practice the past 2 days. But Griffen told the St. Paul Pioneer Press that he expects to start against the Rams. He's a fringe IDP option in 12-team leagues this week against Rams LT Jake Long.
The Vikings picked UCLA LB Anthony Barr 9th overall in the NFL draft. Barr spent just 2 college seasons on defense after playing RB and TE his 1st 2 seasons. He delivered 23.5 sacks and 41.5 total tackles for loss in those 2 years, though. That shows immense upside in what might still be a raw player. We'll see whether Minnesota plays him at DE right away or uses him at LB on early downs and a rusher in passing situations. The Vikings just gave DE Everson Griffen a big contract to keep him from leaving in free agency. Incumbent left DE Brian Robison is 31 but is also signed through 2017. The crowd makes it tough to see immediate fantasy value for Barr. He holds plenty of potential in your IDP dynasty league, though.
The Minnesota Vikings have signed DE Everson Griffen to a 5-year, $42.5 million contract to keep him from reaching free agency. The deal clearly sets up the 26-year-old to start on the right side, with Jared Allen heading elsewhere as an unrestricted free agent. It also obviously takes the Vikes out of contention for former Bengals DE Michael Johnson on the open market. Griffen tallied sack totals of 5.5, 8.0 and 4.0 in a limited role the past 3 years. Pro Football Focus graded him a career-best 16th in pass-rushing among 4-3 DEs last season. Griffen will carry breakout potential into 2014. Look for him to hold down a sleeper spot in our 2014 IDP rankings.
