The Jets took Ole Miss WR Elijah Moore with the 34th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft. They reportedly passed on multiple trade offers to sit and take Moore, who many had pegged as a 1st-rounder. Moore led the entire country in catches (10.8) and receiving yards (149.1) per game this past year, while setting an Ole Miss record with 86 catches. The market shares were huge for the junior: 44.8% of the receptions, 41.8% of the receiving yards and 32% of the TDs. Moore also led the Rebels with 67 catches, 850 yards and 6 scores as a sophomore -- after playing behind A.J. Brown and D.K. Metcalf as a freshman. Moore smoked a 4.35-second 40-yard dash at his Pro Day, while also posting elite marks in the agility drills. That all shows up on tape, where he wins both before and after the catch with acceleration, speed and wiggle. Moore also has some of the most reliable hands in this WR class, with a career 5% drop rate. While he’s only 5’9, Moore weighed in at 185 pounds at his Pro Day and plays with a big receiver’s mentality. We see a lot of Steve Smith in his game, while an anonymous scout told The Athletic’s Bob McGinn that Moore reminds him of Antonio Brown. Moore took 90% of his college snaps from the slot and figures to play primarily on the inside as a pro. His arrival might mean the end of WR Jamison Crowder’s time with the Jets.

The Jets selected BYU QB Zach Wilson with the 2nd overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft. Wilson enjoyed a breakout 2020 with 3,692 yards, 33 TDs and 3 INTs across 12 games. He added a 73.5% completion rate while performing as one of the nation’s most accurate QBs. The low level of competition he faced wasn’t ideal, but Wilson (6’3, 212) truly stood out as a special passer. He also rebounded nicely from an injury-riddled 2019 that began with right labrum surgery in January. Now, he heads to a strong fit with the Jets and new OC Mike LaFleur, whose offense will take advantage of Wilson’s movement skills. He’s a heavy favorite to be under center come Week 1 and could provide some spot-start value this season.

The Jets and WR Corey Davis agreed to a 3-year, $37.5 million deal with $27 million guaranteed, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Davis had an up-and-down 4 seasons in Tennessee but is coming off a career-best 65-984-5 line. He ranked 5th in yards per route run among 84 WRs with 50+ targets. We'll credit OC Arthur Smith for some of that, but Davis has never lacked ability. It's why he was the 5th overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft. And he remains in his prime at just 26 years old. New York isn't an ideal landing spot, with new OC Mike LaFleur and the QB spot standing as question marks. But Davis has the potential to carve out a big target share. He figures to be joining Jamison Crowder and Denzel Mims in the Jets' 3-WR set.

Jets QB Sam Darnold (shoulder) will start against the Dolphins on Sunday, HC Adam Gase announced. Darnold has been out since Week 8 and has averaged just 174 yards and .5 TDs passing in 6 games this season. He's a low-end QB2 for Week 12, but Darnold's return should be good news for WR Jamison Crowder.
