Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham (knee, back) did not practice on Thursday. He was limited on Wednesday, but it's unclear if he's actually hurt or just got a day off. Graham, of course, tore his patellar tendon last year.

After playing just 21% of Seattle's offensive snaps in the opener, TE Jimmy Graham ramped up to 82% in Week 2. He hauled in 3 of 4 targets for 42 yards in the loss to the Rams. "I feel fine," Graham said. "I feel the same. I feel like a beast. So I'll play more and more and get more and more opportunities. I just want to be there for my guys and be there for my team." It's been a promising return from last year's ruptured patellar tendon so far. We're not ready to trust Graham as a TE1 yet, but he's certainly worth a bench spot.

Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham (knee) is active for today’s game against the Dolphins. It’ll be his 1st game action since tearing his patellar tendon last November. Graham isn’t expected to play a full slate of snaps, though, and shouldn’t be in Week 1 fantasy lineups.

Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. He put in a full week of practice and should be active. But his snap count and effectiveness coming off last year’s torn patellar tendon remain questions. Graham shouldn’t be in Week 1 fantasy lineups.

Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham (knee) put in a full practice on Wednesday. He's on track to play against the Dolphins this weekend, but his workload and effectiveness remains in question. Graham is not a recommended Week 1 fantasy play.

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said Wednesday that chances "are good" TE Jimmy Graham (knee) plays against the Dolphins this weekend. Carroll tends to be over-optimistic about injured players, so we're not considering Graham a lock to suit up. Even if he does, he shouldn't be in fantasy lineups. He'll likely be on a snap count, and his effectiveness remains a question mark after last year's torn pateller tendon. Graham is not even 9.5 months removed from that brutal injury.

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll admitted on Wednesday that TE Jimmy Graham (patellar) isn't a lock to be ready for Week 1. "Really, we're shooting for, where is he at the start of the season? We'll evaluate then how much longer it may take. Or he may be ready then," Carroll said. "We don't know that yet." Graham has some "tests" scheduled within the next week to check on his rehab progress. Seattle activated him off the PUP list last week, so they clearly expect him to at least be ready early on this season. But Graham's effectiveness when he returns remains a major question mark.

Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham has been activated from the PUP list. He's about 8.5 months removed from rupturing his patellar tendon. It's a relatively speedy recovery from a significant injury. We imagine that Graham will be eased back into action, but he's on track to be ready for Week 1. We're still not very interested in drafting him, though. The history of guys trying to return from patellar injuries is grim and most recently includes Giants WR Victor Cruz.

Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls (ankle) and TE Jimmy Graham (Achilles) opened training camp on the active/PUP list. Rawls has been running and cutting for at least a couple of weeks and thought he'd be ready for the start of camp. This could be a case of Seattle just playing it safe. Rawls should be ready in plenty of time for Week 1. Graham is more questionable for the start of the regular season.

The "odds are against" Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham "returning to form" after last year's patellar tendon injury, according to ESPN medical expert Stephania Bell. "A study just published in June of this year in the American Journal of Sports Medicine looked at orthopedic procedures on over 550 NFL athletes," Bell said. "And of all the different surgeries that these guys have, those who fared the worst when it comes to rate of return to play and performance metrics like yards gained and touchdowns scored, [it was] patellar tendon repair." Giants WR Victor Cruz still isn't right after tearing his patellar tendon back in 2014. Graham will be about 8 months removed from his injury when training camp opens and less than 10 months removed when Week 1 rolls around. We'll track his progress between now and then, but we're not optimistic about his fantasy outlook, especially early this season.

Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham "jogged lightly" and caught passes during warm-ups at Thursday's OTA session, according to ESPN's Sheil Kapadia. HC Pete Carroll spoke positively of Graham's rehab process but showed caution when asked if the TE would be ready for Week 1. "We're thinking that that's real possible, yeah," Carroll said. "That's what we're thinking. We have to avoid setbacks obviously, but we're kind of counting on that." Graham suffered a torn patellar tendon in November, and Carroll said the team will likely ease him into workouts during training camp. We'll see how things progress there and adjust our fantasy football expectations if needed. Expect Graham to land in TE2 territory when our 2016 projections drop in June.

In a somewhat surprising move, free-agent WR Jermaine Kearse has agreed to a new 3-year deal to stay with the Seahawks, according to Adam Schefter. It was also Schefter who reported before free agency opened that Kearse wasn't expecting to remain in Seattle and was "looking forward" to joining a new team. A weak WR market seemed likely to elevate his status. We'll see what the money looks like, but the practical impact for fantasy owners is that Kearse will continue to siphon targets in a lower-volume pass offense. He'll be no more than a late-round flier behind at least WRs Doug Baldwin and Tyler Lockett. We'll see about TE Jimmy Graham's status come summer.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham (knee) is expected to be ready for Week 1.  That'd be about 9 months after tearing his patellar tendon, a notoriously difficult injury to return from.  It sounds like Graham's rehab is off to a good start, but it's far too early to make any firm predictions about his 2016 fantasy outlook.  For now, don't count on him as an every-week TE1.

Seahawks GM John Schneider told 710 ESPN radio in Seattle on Friday that TE Jimmy Graham will return to the team in 2016. Some had questioned whether Graham might turn into a salary-cap casualty after a disappointing Seahawks debut. Releasing him this offseason would save the team $9 million in cap space. “I think people were a little hard on Jimmy,” Schneider said, via the Seattle Times. “He started going when our offense started going, so I look at it as just part of our maturation offensively. … I don’t look at it like he wasn’t the Jimmy Graham of old. You are talking about a guy who gets double (teamed) and bracketed all the time.” In 2016, we'll also be talking about a guy coming off a patellar tendon tear. We'll keep an eye on Graham's progress through the offseason before assessing his value for 2016 fantasy football leagues.

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll announced after Sunday's win over the Steelers that TE Jimmy Graham tore his patellar tendon.  That not only ends his 2015 campaign but puts his status for the start of the 2016 season in serious doubt.  Giants WR Victor Cruz suffered the same injury last October and wasn't able to get on the field at all this year (although that was partly due to a calf issue which may or may not have been related to the knee injury).  Graham ends a mostly disappointing debut season in Seattle with 48 catches, 605 yards and 2 TDs in 11 games.  The 6.7 targets per game he was averaging figure to be spread between TE Luke Willson and WRs Doug Baldwin, Tyler Lockett and Jermaine Kearse.

Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham injured his right knee in the 4th quarter of Sunday's game against the Steelers.  His leg got twisted underneath him, and he immediately grabbed for the knee.  Graham was fitted with an air cast and carted off the field.  This has the look of a season-ending injury.  We'll update Graham's status when we learn more.

It hasn't taken TE Jimmy Graham long to notice the difference between his role in Seattle vs. the 1 he played in New Orleans.  “I’m blocking here,” Graham said. “Out there [in New Orleans] the last few I was pretty banged up so midway through the year I kind of stopped blocking ... Now here, I’m blocking quite a bit and I love it. It’s very important for me to be a part of that here because that’s about 75 percent of the offense here."  Graham won't end up blocking on anywhere close to 75% of his snaps with the Seahawks.  But he figures to do it more than he did in New Orleans, where he blocked on no more than 31% in any of his 5 seasons.  It's a reminder that Graham won't reach the 125+ targets he did regularly with the Saints.  He remains a top-end fantasy TE, but his ceiling has been lowered with the move to Seattle.

Seahawks insider Gregg Bell confirms that TE Jimmy Graham will be a big part of the team's red-zone offense.  "Less than a month of OTAs and minicamp practices this spring hinted at how much the Seahawks plan on featuring Graham near and in the end zone in 2015," Bell writes.  That should come as no surprise.  The 6'7 Graham has scored 35 TDs over the last 3 seasons.  28 of those have come in the red zone.  Graham's catch and yardage totals figure to take a hit with his move from pass-heavy New Orleans to run-heavy Seattle.  But he's plenty capable of reaching double-digit TDs for the 3rd straight year.

The Saints have traded TE Jimmy Graham to the Seahawks.  A 4th-rounder is also heading to Seattle, while the Saints pick up G Max Under and the 31st overall pick in April's draft.  It's rare to see a transcendent talent in his prime get traded, but the Saints are in salary cap hell and trading Graham gets him off the books after this season.  It's obviously still a huge loss for the passing game, which will now need bigger contributions from its WRs.  Brandin Cooks, Kenny Stills and Marques Colston are winners here.  The Seahawks, meanwhile, get the big-time offensive weapon they've been looking for.  It's a huge upgrade for QB Russell Wilson's fantasy stock.  Graham will be the focal point of Seattle's passing game but takes a hit as he moves from a pass-heavy offense to a run-first outfit.  We'll have more on this blockbuster trade in a feature article.

Saints TE Jimmy Graham has decided that he won't undergo shoulder surgery this offseason.  He used the Pro Bowl to test the progress of his rehab.  “I’m just going to do rehab, strengthen the area," Graham explained. "That’s what’s best — not having to take six months off and try to heal up with a surgery."  He also admitted that the shoulder injury he suffered in Week 5 was an issue the rest of the way: “It was something that really needed some rest and unfortunately it wasn’t able to get that during the season.  It happened early and then you have about 10 straight weeks of trying to make it to the game."  Graham averaged 8 catches, 85 yards and .8 TDs in his 4 full healthy games but just 5-50-.6 the rest of the way.  Still in his prime at 28 years old, Graham could turn into a value pick in 2015 fantasy football drafts.
