Saints TE Jimmy Graham told reporters Friday, "I'm not keen on the franchise tag," according to NFL.com.  Should the team exercise that option, of course, he'd have no choice but to skip signing and stay away from Saints activities as long as he chooses.  We're not worried about the situation at this point.  New Orleans shouldn't be keen on letting Graham walk away, and production plus age (27 until November) should equal the richest TE contract in history.  We'll hold off concern at least until a holdout becomes a real possibility.

The forecast for today's Saints-Panthers game calls for winds of 15-17 mph with rain starting at 2 pm local time.  That makes a tough matchup for QB Drew Brees even tougher.  According to Yahoo.com's split stats, Brees has averaged 279 passing yards with 48 total TDs and 24 INTs in 24 career "windy" games.  (It's unclear what qualifies as "windy.")  The weather conditions should benefit the Panthers, who figure to go with a run-heavy attack.

Saints TE Jimmy Graham (foot) is active for tonight's game against the Falcons.  He's scored 6 times in his last 6 games against the division rival.  Keep him locked into fantasy lineups.

2:05pm EST 11/17/13

As expected, Saints TE Jimmy Graham (foot) is active for today’s showdown with the 49ers.  He might not be 100% healthy for the remainder of this season.  Still, Graham should remain glued to fantasy lineups.

Saints TE Jimmy Graham (foot) put in 3 limited practices and is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the 49ers.  That's an upgrade over last week, when Graham only practiced on Thursday and Friday and ended up questionable on the final injury report.  He played just 39% of the snaps last week but should have a bigger role this Sunday.  Graham remains a must-start in fantasy.

Saints TE Jimmy Graham (foot, elbow) is active for tonight’s showdown with Dallas.  As expected, fantasy’s top TE will suit up and provide owners with enormous upside.

Saints TE Jimmy Graham (foot) is questionable for Sunday’s matchup with Dallas.  There’s no doubt he’ll play.  And even if his snaps are limited, Graham is still an elite fantasy TE.

Saints TE Jimmy Graham was limited to just 18 snaps last week.  He's ready for more this Sunday.  "Hopefully I'll be able to play more, but that's all on Sean [Payton] and all of our coaches and our doctors and what they think," Graham said.  "I personally never want to come out the game. I know if I'm out there Sunday, I'm going to be full go. I'm going to be out there running."   Graham still figures to be on some type of snap count against the Jets, but it sounds like he'll play more than the 27% he played last week.  Graham remains a must-start in fantasy.

Saints TE Jimmy Graham said after Sunday's game that he can't make his foot injury worse by playing through it.  It's simply a matter of pain tolerance.  "It's gonna hurt. But football hurts. That's just how it is," Graham said. "It's just, 'How much pain can you endure?' And you know, I'm pretty good at that."  Graham played fewer than 20 snaps against the Bills, according to insider Mike Triplett.  Most of those came in the red zone.  Graham caught just 3 balls, but 2 of them went for scores.  It's a reminder that he's impossible to bench in fantasy when he's active.

Saints insider Mike Triplett believes there's a "small percentage" chance that TE Jimmy Graham won't play or will be just a decoy today.  Triplett believes it's "more likely" that Graham is limited to mostly red-zone work.  "Probably won't be doing a lot of running deep," Triplett adds.  Graham is clearly a risky fantasy play with decreased upside today.  But he's still capable of posting a productive outing with just a few targets.

Saints TE Jimmy Graham (foot) is active for today’s game against the Bills.  It’s mildly surprising after we learned this morning that he has a partially torn plantar fascia.  That’s a painful injury, and also 1 that figures to hinder Graham’s explosion.  He must have looked and felt fine in pregame warmups, though.  Graham figures to be limited today, but still has plenty of fantasy upside.  Click here to see where he sits in our Week 8 TE Rankings.

Saints TE Jimmy Graham reportedly has a partially torn plantar fascia in his foot.  This news comes via Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer.  According to Glazer, Graham’s ability to play will come down to pain tolerance.  But the stud TE remains unlikely to suit up because of how painful the injury is.  Essentially, a partially torn plantar fascia doesn’t allow receivers to make sharp cuts.  Fantasy owners need to have a backup plan ready.  Our TE Rankings are always a great place to start.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen warns, "don't get your hopes up" for TE Jimmy Graham (foot) playing against the Bills on Sunday.  Graham returned to a limited practice on Friday but is a game-time decision.  Fantasy owners need to have a replacement on stand-by.  If Graham can't go, TE Ben Watson would step in as New Orleans' starter and be a fine spot start in fantasy.  We'll find out Graham's official status by noon ET tomorrow.

Update: FOX's Jay Glazer reports that Graham has a partially torn plantar fascia, which is very painful and affects his ability to run and cut.

Saints TE Jimmy Graham (foot) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game against the Bills.  He put in a limited practice on Friday after sitting out the previous 2 days.  Graham will be a game-time decision, but we'll know his status by noon ET on Sunday.  If Graham is active, it's likely that his snaps will be limited.  Still, he'd be virtually impossible to bench in fantasy.  If Graham sits out, Ben Watson would step in as New Orleans' lead TE and be a fine spot-start.

Saints HC Sean Payton called Friday "an important day" for TE Jimmy Graham (foot).  He's missed the first 2 practices of the week, but it sounds like he still has a shot to play against the Bills if he can get on the field tomorrow.  Graham will remain a must-start if he's active this weekend, but fantasy owners should be lining up an alternative.  We still consider Graham no better than 50-50 to play.

Saints TE Jimmy Graham (foot) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday.  HC Sean Payton considers him "day-to-day."  We consider Graham no better than 50-50 to play against the Bills this weekend.  And he might be limited if he does.  Check back tomorrow for another update.

Saints TE Jimmy Graham (foot) did not practice on Wednesday.  It's a concern considering he's had 10 days off, and it jibes with reports that Graham is "uncertain" for this weekend's game against the Bills.  We still don't have any details about his injury.  "Each day we'll just take a peek on how he's progressing and be smart about it," HC Sean Payton said.  Check back tomorrow for another update.  Ben Watson would take over as New Orleans' lead TE -- and be a viable fantasy spot start -- if Graham can't go.

ESPN's Adam Schefter calls Saints TE Jimmy Graham (foot) "uncertain" for Sunday's game against the Bills.  Schefter adds that "it would have been difficult" for Graham to play this past weekend.  The report is much less optimistic than last week's news that the injury was not serious.  We still don't have any details on exactly what's ailing Graham, but we know that foot injuries can be tricky.  We'll continue to keep a close eye on his status this week.  If Graham can't play against the Bills, Ben Watson would step in as New Orleans' lead TE.

ESPN's Ed Werder hears that Saints TE Jimmy Graham's injury is not serious.  Werder calls it an ankle/foot injury and says the team will monitor him over the bye week.  It coincides with insider Chris Mortensen's report last night that the Saints are optimistic that Graham will be ready for Week 8.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that there's a "sense of optimism" that Saints TE Jimmy Graham (foot) will be available when the team comes off its Week 7 bye.  Mort adds that Graham is still being evaluated.  We might not have a real good idea of his status until the Saints return to practice a week from Wednesday.  Graham owners in deeper leagues can roster backup TE Ben Watson as a handcuff.  He'd be a low-end TE1 if Graham misses time.
