Ravens HC John Harbaugh revealed on Tuesday that QB Joe Flacco has resumed throwing. The team is still waiting for him to receive medical clearance to return to practice, though. It still looks like he's on track to be ready for the opener, but the Ravens passing game will be a risky Week 1 fantasy bet after what's been a lost August for Flacco.

Ravens QB Joe Flacco (back) remains sidelined. We're now 4 weeks into what the team originally called a 1-week injury. OC Marty Mornhinweg gave a rambling, useless response when asked on Wednesday about Flacco's timetable for return. We've still heard nothing to suggest that he won't be ready for the season opener, but such an extended absence with a back injury for a 32-year-old QB is a concern. Flacco isn't worth drafting outside of 2-QB leagues. And if he's not back on the field by the end of August, we'll have to start pushing WRs Jeremy Maclin and Mike Wallace down the WR rankings.

The Ravens will not play QB Joe Flacco at all in the preseason because of his back issue, but they expect him to be ready for the regular-season opener, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. We'll obviously keep an eye out for any further updates on his status, but this doesn't represent any change to his fantasy outlook. It's been clear since the start of camp that Baltimore would err on the side of caution with it's QB's back.

Ravens HC John Harbaugh said Tuesday that he expects QB Joe Flacco (back) to return "soon ... definitely during the preseason." He's missed about a week of camp now, but that's not a major concern for a 9-year veteran. It's looking more and more like this back issue won't be a factor this season. Flacco remains a low-upside QB2, but his presence is important for Mike Wallace, Jeremy Maclin and the rest of Baltimore's skill-position players.

Ravens QB Joe Flacco told reporters on Friday that he's only dealing with back "stiffness," not a disc issue. He added that he's been assured it won't be an issue throughout the season and hopes to be back on the practice field in a week. Players tend to be over-optimistic about their injuries, but all indications over the past couple of days are that this is a relatively minor issue. We'll continue to keep an eye on Flacco, but it seems like he'll be fine for Week 1.

Ravens QB Joe Flacco is dealing with a disc issue in his back, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. His timetable for return is murky. Per Rapoport, Flacco will miss "at least a week or 2" but is "is preparing to miss 3-6" weeks. The longest end of that range would have him sidelined until a few days before Baltimore's regular-season opener in Cincinnati. At minimum, Flacco will miss valuable practice (and probably preseason) reps with new weapons Jeremy Maclin and Danny Woodhead. Already a lower-end QB2, Flacco isn't worth drafting outside of 2-QB and best-ball leagues now.

The Ravens have signed WR Jeremy Maclin to a 2-year deal. A cap casualty in Kansas City, Maclin joins a Ravens squad that's missing a whopping 345 targets from a year ago. He figures to compete with Mike Wallace for the target lead this year -- although Breshad Perriman could also have a say in that battle if he takes a step forward. Maclin endured a disappointing, injury-stricken 2016 campaign but posted an 87-1,088-8 line the previous year. He's still only 29. And he has experience in Ravens OC Marty Mornhinweg's system, playing for Mornhinweg in Philadelphia for his first 4 NFL seasons. Maclin averaged 65 catches, 863 yards and 6.5 TDs across those years.

Ravens QB Joe Flacco reminded fantasy owners of his limitations Sunday with an unspectacular outing against an Eagles D that had struggled in coverage recently. Flacco completed just 16 of 30 passes for 206 yards, 2 TDs and 1 late INT. It wasn't a killer of a fantasy day for those who started him, but it was a letdown after 2 straight 300+ yard outings. Flacco's a fantasy QB2 for next Sunday's trip to Pittsburgh.

Ravens QB Joe Flacco (shoulder) is active for today’s game against the Jets. He put in a full practice on Friday but is still a risky fantasy play with a throwing-shoulder issue. The matchup vs. the league’s 27th-ranked QB defense at least adds upside.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Ravens QB Joe Flacco (shoulder) is expected to start against the Jets today. He put in a full practice on Friday, although we still don't know exactly how big a factor the issue with his throwing shoulder will play. Flacco is a risk/reward fantasy option vs. the league's 27th-ranked QB defense.

Ravens QB Joe Flacco (shoulder) returned to a full practice on Friday after sitting out the previous 2 days. He's listed as questionable but is expected to start against the Jets this weekend. That's a plus matchup, but Flacco hasn't been great this year even before the issue with his throwing shoulder. It leaves him as more of a high-upside QB2 than a reliable QB1.

Ravens QB Joe Flacco (throwing shoulder) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. He's in real danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Jets. That'd leave QB Ryan Mallett as Baltimore's starter. He completed just 55.7% of his passes, averaged 5.5 yards per attempt and tossed 5 TDs vs. 6 INTs for the Ravens last year.

Ravens QB Joe Flacco was held out of Wednesday's practice with a right (throwing) shoulder injury. HC John Harbaugh stopped short of guaranteeing that Flacco will be available for this weekend's game against the Jets. "He has a legitimate shot at playing Sunday," Harbaugh said. "I don't know what the percentage is." We'll have another update on Flacco tomorrow. QB Ryan Mallett is Baltimore's backup.

The Ravens have fired OC Marc Trestman. It feels like a panic move after the offense laid an egg in Sunday's home loss to the Redskins. Granted, Trestman abandoned an effective running game. But he's a proven offensive mind that's produced lots of fantasy goodness. Trestman will be replaced by Marty Mornhinweg, who has leaned toward the pass throughout his career. His offenses have ranked higher in pass attempts than rush attempts in 11 of his 15 seasons as a HC or OC.

Windy conditions are expected for today's Redskins-Ravens game. The forecast calls for winds of 20-25 mph with gusts up to 35-40 mph. That's certainly enough to impact the passing games, particularly deep threats like DeSean Jackson and Mike Wallace. We've nudged both those guys down the Week 5 rankings. Ks Dustin Hopkins and Justin Tucker might also be hindered.

Ravens WR Kamar Aiken has been catching passes from Joe Flacco the past couple of weeks and says his QB "looks the exact same." Flacco is return from last November's torn ACL. “He looks 100 percent to me,” Aiken added. “He definitely recovered mighty fast for anybody coming off an ACL, as far as not having any limp or lags. He did surprise me that he looked like his regular self. I didn’t expect it, but I wouldn’t put it past him at the same time.” Never one to rely on mobility, Flacco shouldn't be impacted by last year's knee injury. He was sitting 16th in fantasy points among QBs when he went down and should offer spot-start value in 2016.

Ravens HC John Harbaugh says WR Mike Wallace will be a “big part” of the offense. Harbaugh complimented Wallace’s hands, smarts and “all-around” game. The veteran could see sneaky volume, especially if Breshad Perriman (knee) misses early-season action. But Wallace, who turns 30 in August, admitted that he’s lost a step. He’s also yet to gel with QB Joe Flacco, who isn’t expected back until training camp due to ACL rehab. Still, Wallace’s boom-or-bust tendency makes him an intriguing “best ball” pick.

The Ravens and QB Joe Flacco have agreed to a 3-year extension, according to ESPN's Adam Caplan.  Tacked on to his current contract, Flacco is now locked up with Baltimore through the 2021 season.  He'll be 37 years old at that point.  Flacco was off to a sneaky-good start in OC Marc Trestman's offense before tearing his ACL last season.  He finished with career highs in completion rate (64.4%) and yards per game (279.1).  Flacco was sitting 16th among QBs in fantasy points when he went down.  If all goes well with his rehab, he could be a value QB2 target in 2016 fantasy drafts.
