Seahawks RB Mike Davis (ribs) put in a limited practice on Wednesday. His injury is believed to be minor, and he's seemingly on track to play this weekend. Davis is in the RB2 mix against a Rams defense allowing 4.7 yards per carry to RBs.
Seahawks RB Mike Davis left in the 4th quarter of Sunday's loss to the Jaguars after taking a shot to the ribs. According to the Seattle Times, though, "indications were it was not overly serious." Before leaving, Davis enjoyed another successful outing. He carried 15 times for 66 yards against a run defense that has gotten a lot better since acquiring DT Marcell Dareus from the Bills mid-season. “I thought he looked great,’’ HC Pete Carroll said. “I thought he ran like crazy. This is the best rushing defense in the NFL. We had 100 yards at halftime. Mike was ripping, and he did a nice job with these guys and that means the guys up front did a nice job too." Seattle heads home to face the Rams in Week 15. As long as Davis' ribs are OK, he'll likely land in RB2 territory in our weekly rankings.
Seahawks RB Mike Davis (groin) isn’t listed on the final Week 13 injury report after putting in full practices on Thursday and Friday. We’ll see what Seattle’s backfield looks like on Sunday night, but it’s a situation to avoid in fantasy lineups vs. the Eagles’ 2nd-ranked RB defense.
Seahawks RB Mike Davis (groin) is inactive for today’s game against the 49ers. RBs Eddie Lacy, Thomas Rawls and J.D. McKissic are up for Seattle. It’s unclear how carries will be divvied, but McKissic will handle the pass-catching work. It makes him an intriguing flier in DFS and deeper PPR leagues.
Seahawks RB Mike Davis (groin) is listed as doubtful for Week 12. He didn’t practice all week and won’t play against the 49ers on Sunday. RBs Eddie Lacy, Thomas Rawls and J.D. McKissic figure to be active in Seattle’s backfield. McKissic is the most intriguing fantasy play at this point — especially against a ‘Niners defense ranked dead last in receiving yards allowed to RBs.
Seahawks HC Pete Carroll on Tuesday called RB Mike Davis (groin) "unlikely" to play against the 49ers this weekend. Considering the rose-colored glasses Carroll is always wearing, consider Davis out for Week 12. It's a tough break for a guy who gave Seattle's backfield a bit of a spark on Monday night. RB Thomas Rawls figures to be active again this weekend, but neither he nor Eddie Lacy can be trusted in fantasy lineups. J.D. McKissic is the closest thing to a fantasy option in the Seahawks' backfield right now.
The Seahawks started recently signed RB Mike Davis in Monday night's loss to the Falcons, even with Eddie Lacy back from his groin injury. Davis carried 6 times for 18 yards and produced a pair of big gains on screen passes but then left in the 3rd quarter with a groin strain. According to the Seattle Times, Davis "thinks he'll be OK" but will have an MRI this week. If Davis proves ready for Sunday's visit to San Francisco, there could be some deep appeal for fantasy owners. The Niners present the league's best scoring matchup for RBs.
The Seahawks claimed RB Mike Davis off waivers from the 49ers on Monday. A 4th-round pick 2 years ago, Davis averaged just 2.0 yards per carry on 52 attempts and caught 10 of 18 targets over the past 2 seasons. He doesn't look like a good bet to make Seattle's roster, assuming Eddie Lacy's ankle is ready to go.
49ers RB Carlos Hyde tore his MCL in Sunday's game against the Rams, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Hyde will obviously miss the season finale and could be sidelined for 10-12 weeks. It might cost him part of the offseason program, but he should be ready in plenty of time for training camp. Hyde was impressive on a crappy 49ers offense this year, averaging 4.6 yards per carry, catching a career-high 27 passes and scoring 9 TDs. Durability continues to be a problem, though. Hyde has missed 14 games across his first 3 NFL seasons. He'll be a risk/reward early-round pick in 2017 fantasy football drafts. Shaun Draughn, DuJuan Harris and Mike Davis will handle backfield duties in Week 17. None will be a recommended fantasy starter against the Seahawks.
49ers RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) is inactive for today’s game against the Saints. He’s tentatively expected back for Week 10. RB DuJuan Harris is the best bet for carries today, with RB Mike Davis also mixing in. RB Shaun Draughn figures to handle most of the passing-down work.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that it'd be a "major surprise" if 49ers RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) plays against the Saints today. "Needs another week to heal," Rapoport adds. It sounds like Hyde owners can expect him back for Week 10, but he's missing a prime matchup today. San Francisco will instead roll with a 3-man backfield of DuJuan Harris, Shaun Draughn and Mike Davis. Harris is the best bet for carries and is on the RB3 radar. Draughn figures to handle most of the passing-down work and is on the PPR radar.
49ers RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints after a limited week of practice. We've yet to hear that he's been cleared for contact. 49ers-Saints doesn't kick off until 4:05 pm ET, but we'll look for an update on Sunday morning. If Hyde can't go, San Francisco would turn to a 3-man committee of DuJuan Harris, Shaun Draugh and Mike Davis. Harris would be the preferred fantasy play.
49ers HC Chip Kelly on Thursday described RB Carlos Hyde's (shoulder) Week 9 status as "TBD." Hyde remained in a non-contact jersey for Thursday's workout, and it sounds like he still hasn't been cleared for contact. We'll get another update on Hyde tomorrow, but fantasy owners should be making backup plans. His absence would again leave San Francisco with a 3-man committee backfield consisting of DuJuan Harris, Shaun Draughn and Mike Davis.
49ers RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) is out for Sunday’s game against the Bucs. It sounds like he’ll be back after the team’s Week 8 bye. Mike Davis and Shaun Draughn will handle backfield duties this week, but the exact division of labor is unclear. Neither guy is a recommended fantasy play vs. a Tampa defense permitting just 3.7 yards per carry to RBs.
49ers RB Carlos Hyde told reporters on Wednesday that his shoulder injury is "definitely not long-term." He conceded that he's unlikely to be ready for this weekend's game against the Bucs but expects to be back after the Week 8 bye. RBs Shaun Draughn and Mike Davis figure to share backfield duties this Sunday. Neither is a reliable fantasy play.
49ers HC Chip Kelly on Wednesday called RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) "a stretch" to play against the Bucs this weekend. His absence would leave San Francisco with RBs Shaun Draughn and Mike Davis. The former is averaging 2.1 yards per carry this year after posting a 3.5 mark last season. The latter? 1.8 yards per carry this year, and 1.7 last. Tampa Bay comes into Week 7 allowing just 3.7 yards per carry to RBs. You don't want anything to do with a Hyde-less 49ers backfield.
The 49ers have activated RB Mike Davis (hand) from IR-designated-for-return. He's been out since Week 8. Davis averaged a tick below 1 yard per carry on 25 totes before breaking his hand. He figures to share the backfield with DuJuan Harris and Kendall Gaskins against the Rams this weekend. It's a situation to avoid in fantasy football.
The 49ers placed RB Mike Davis (hand) on IR designated to return. He's not eligible to play until Week 17. Drop the rookie if you had him stashed on your bench.
49ers RB Carlos Hyde (foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Falcons. We'll see if he can get back on the field after the Week 10 bye. RB Mike Davis (hand) is also out, leaving Kendall Gaskins, Pierre Thomas and Shaun Draughn in San Francisco's backfield. Avoid the situation in Week 9 fantasy lineups.
49ers RB Mike Davis fractured his hand in Sunday's loss to the Rams, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. No word on how long the rookie will be sidelined, but it'll likely be multiple weeks. With Reggie Bush done with a torn ACL and Carlos Hyde dealing with a stress fracture in his foot, Kendall Gaskins is the only healthy RB on the roster. San Francisco will make an addition this week. We'll see if Hyde is able to play against the Falcons on Sunday.
