Vikings MLB Eric Kendricks (ribs) is officially probable for Sunday's game against the Packers. He appears ready for a full return after putting in full workouts all week. The matchup isn't great for LB scoring, but Kendricks' multi-category ability -- plus Green Bay's uncharacteristic offensive struggles -- make Kendricks worth starting in most IDP leagues.

Vikings MLB Eric Kendricks put in full practices Wednesday and Thursday as he works back from a rib injury that cost him 2 games. That seems to put him on track to start Sunday against Green Bay. If he's active, Kendricks will belong back in most IDP lineups.

Vikings OLB Anthony Barr (hand) is active for today's game at Oakland. Use him as you normally would in your IDP league, though the hand issue could certainly impact his ability to fight through blockers or catch passes. MLB Eric Kendricks (ribs) is inactive, as expected. Chad Greenway should play full time for the 2nd straight week and carries IDP sleeper potential.

The Vikings might be missing 2 of their 3 starting LBs Sunday in Oakland. MLB Eric Kendricks (ribs) is doubtful despite returning to a limited practice Friday. That would mark his 2nd missed game, though the Friday return has us hopeful for Week 11. OLB Anthony Barr (hand) also returned to a limited practice Friday after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday. He's questionable for Sunday. HC Mike Zimmer had said earlier in the week that he though both guys would be ready. Minnesota will likely get DT Sharrif Floyd back for the Oakland game. Floyd's probable after a full Friday workout and limited sessions the previous 2 days. He missed the past 3 games after a foot injury that required surgery. He's officially listed with knee and ankle issues in the current report but has said he'll play. IDP owners should wait to see Floyd back in action before considering him a starting option. Veteran Chad Greenway turned back into a full-time LB with Kendricks out last week and will be an IDP option again this weekend.

Vikings OLB Anthony Barr had a cast on his left arm after Sunday's game and had X-rays, according to ESPN's Ben Goessling. HC Mike Zimmer wouldn't give any details on the injury or test results Monday but said Barr "should be fine." We'll keep an eye on his practice status this week.

Vikings MLB Eric Kendricks wouldn't give any details on his rib injury Monday after missing the Week 9 win over the Rams. The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that Kendricks said he's "not allowed" to discuss his injuries when reporters asked whether he's dealing with broken ribs. “I’m feeling good, but I’m still going to take it day-by-day,” Kendricks said. “I’m doing my best to get better. I’m in treatment every day. I’m listening to my body at this point … That’s all I can say.” We'll see if he returns to practice this week.

Vikings MLB Audie Cole suffered an ankle fracture Sunday against the Rams as he filled in for injured MLB Eric Kendricks. Cole will miss the rest of the season. We'll see if Kendricks' rib issue allows him to return in Week 10.

Vikings OLB Anthony Barr (back) is active for today's game against the Rams. St. Louis has allowed the league's fewest LB points for the season, which hurts Barr's IDP upside. But his ability as a pass-rusher and cover guy helps the big-play potential. And the Rams' recent reliance on Todd Gurley has increased the tackle supply for opposing LBs a bit. Barr's a decent option next to fill-in MLB Audie Cole, who will start for the injured Eric Kendricks.

Vikings OLB Anthony Barr is questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams with a back issue. He put in a full practice Friday, though, after missing the week's 1st 2 workouts. That has us expecting him to play Sunday, but we'll watch his status Sunday morning.

The Vikings have ruled MLB Eric Kendricks out for Sunday's game against the Rams with a rib injury. That will press Audie Cole into the starting role but against a team that has provided the fewest LB points in the league.

Vikings DE Everson Griffen left Sunday's win over the Bears early because of a right shoulder stinger. "I'll be OK," Griffen told the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "I'm a warrior, but (shoulder stingers) hurt bad. I'm one tough (guy), but, whoo. I've been dealing with them for awhile. They're getting better, but we've got to figure out what I've got to do." HC Mike Zimmer added that his top pass-rusher should "be fine" going forward. The Vikings host St. Louis in Week 9.

The Vikings have ruled DT Sharrif Floyd out for the 2nd straight game because of knee and ankle injuries. Floyd said Friday he's been told he's ahead of schedule in his recovery but that he doesn't know when he'll be ready for game action again, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Tom Johnson will start in his place against the Bears.

Vikings HC Mike Zimmer said Monday that DT Sharrif Floyd had "a piece of cartilege taken out" of his left foot, according to Mark Craig of the Star Tribune. Zimmer said the team doesn't know yet how long Floyd might be out. IDP owners can move on to a more immediate option in all but the deepest of leagues.

The Vikings have ruled DT Sharrif Floyd out for Sunday's game against the Lions. He's dealing with knee and ankle injuries that cost him practice time all week.

11:15am EDT 10/18/15

Vikings DE Everson Griffen is inactive today against the Chiefs because of illness. Rookie Danielle Hunter will reportedly start in his place. That's a big loss for the Vikings' D, but Hunter does bring enticing athletic upside. The D-line -- and front 7 overall -- remain talented without him, too. So don't be afraid to use the Minnesota team D in fantasy.

Vikings HC Mike Zimmer said Wednesday that the starting safety spot next to Harrison Smith remains "fluid," according to ESPN's Ben Goessling. Zimmer conceded that no SS has played well enough to grab that job. Andrew Sendejo and Robert Blanton have led the way to date, but Zimmer said 2nd-year man Antone Exum could compete for more playing time. And the team picked up former Bear Brock Vereen off waivers Oct. 1. Undrafted free agent Anthony Harris is also in the mix. None of those guys should be on your IDP radar at this point.

The Vikings on Tuesday traded MLB Gerald Hodges to the 49ers. That likely turns him into a backup in San Francisco. More importantly, it finally clears the way for rookie MLB Eric Kendricks to start in the middle in Minnesota. The Vikings have seemed to be trending that way in recent weeks, and Kendricks began taking passing-down duty from Hodges back in the preseason. Kendricks tallied 9 solo tackles in the Week 3 win over San Diego and added 4 solos plus a sack at Denver last Sunday. He carries LB1 upside the rest of the way, and has already shot up or Rest of the Way IDP rankings.
