The Falcons and LB Rahsaan Evans are in the early stages of working out a new contract, according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Evans signed for just $1.75 million on a one-year deal with Atlanta last offseason, after the Titans declined the fifth-year option on Evans' rookie contract. Evans proceeded to have easily his best pro season by production and playing time. It seems likely that he'll re-sign, which would point to Evans remaining a full-time player. Keep that in mind for dynasty IDP considerations. We're still not ready to bet on long-term success for the former first-round pick, who didn't work out across four seasons in Tennessee.

The Falcons on Thursday placed LB Deion Jones on IR. It's a surprising move, given that Jones had recently come off the PUP and played in the team's preseason finale. Jones had shoulder surgery early in the offseason. We'll see whether the team reveals how long it expects him to be out. Jones' deactivation leaves Rahsaan Evans and Mykal Walker looking like the best bets for playing time among Falcons LBs.

Falcons LB Deion Jones returned to the practice field this week for the 1st time following offseason shoulder surgery. He worked with 3rd- and 4th-stringers, though, according to the team website. The highly paid also saw time on the punt team. "I'll give Deion credit, because he's going to come out here and he's going to compete," HC Arthur Smith said afterward. "He's going to work his way back in. It's going to be hard to get on the field in that room. And that's what you want with that competition. Rashaan [Evans] and Mykal Walker are doing a great job. We gotta see what Troy [Andersen] can do. [Nathan] Landman, Dorian [Etheridge]? They've had good preseasons. It's going to play itself out." Jones was the subject of trade/cut rumors before the shoulder surgery sidelined him. Atlanta would probably love to trade him for pretty much anything, which would offer salary-cap relief. Cutting Jones, on the other hand, would cost nearly $25 million in dead cap. The final year on his contract (2023) has much more cuttable terms. All of that is complicated by Jones coming off -- by far -- the poorest-graded season of his career. It seems likely that Rahsaan Evans and Mykal Walker start ahead of him, at least to open the season. Don't be afraid to just avoid the whole Falcons LB situation in your IDP drafts.

The Falcons on Monday agreed to a 1-year deal with LB Rashaan Evans. A 2018 first-round pick of the Titans, Evans never lived up to that billing. Although he started 11 of the 12 games he was available for last year, Evans' playing time dipped to 60%. He might find himself competing with Mykal Walker for the #2 LB role in Atlanta, after Foye Oluokun left for Jacksonville in free agency. But there's also still room for the Falcons to add a better prospect in the NFL Draft.

The Titans have ruled LBs David Long and Rashaan Evans out for Sunday's game against the Patriots. That leaves Jayon Brown and Monty Rice as the starters, with Brown the top choice for IDP lineups.

The Titans have ruled LB David Long (hamstring), LB Rashaan Evans (ankle) and EDGE Bud Dupree (abdomen). CB Janoris Jenkins (chest) is questionable after missing Thursday's and Friday's practices. EDGE Harold Landry (hamstring) and DL Jeffery Simmons (ankle) carry no injury designations into the game despite managing injuries this week. Landry spent the week limited with a hamstring issue. Simmons sandwiched a missed Thursday's practice between 2 limited workouts. Both look fine to use in IDP lineups, though.

Titans LB Rashaan Evans (ankle) is inactive for today's game against the Saints. He joins LB David Long on the inactive list. Jayon Brown should lead the ILB group in playing time and offer a nice option for IDP lineups.

The Titans have ruled LB David Long (hamstring) out for Sunday's game against the Saints. LB Rashaan Evans (ankle) is questionable but doesn't look like a particularly good bet to play. He followed a limited Wednesday by missing practice Thursday and Friday. No Evans would leave Jayon Brown and rookie Monty Rice as the off-ball LBs. Brown played 70% of the snaps in Sunday night's win over the Rams, his return from a knee sprain that landed him on IR. We're betting that Brown increases that playing time and leads Evans or Rice in that category. He supplied 7 solos last week and should be a solid bet for at least LB3 production vs. New Orleans -- with upside beyond that.

The Titans have ruled LB Rashaan Evans (ankle) out for today's game against the Colts. Jayon Brown has yet to be activated from IR, so it'll be either Monty Rice or Nick Dzubnar filling in for Evans next to David Long. We'd only bet on Long seeing full playing time and thus making sense for your IDP lineup.

Titans LB Rashaan Evans is questionable for Sunday's game against the Colts after popping up on Friday's injury report with an ankle issue that kept him out of practice. That should keep Evans out of IDP lineups even if he's active. The team also designated LB Jayon Brown to return from IR this week. We don't yet know whether he has a chance to play Sunday.
