Eagles RB Saquon Barkley (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday. He's reportedly not dealing with a long-term injury, but he's unlikely to play vs. the Jaguars this weekend and could miss multiple games. Will Shipley projects as the backfield leader for however long Barkley is out.

The Eagles are elevating RB Dameon Pierce from the practice squad, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports. Pierce joins Will Shipley as the healthy RBs on the active roster. RB Tank Bigsby is on IR, and RB Saquon Barkley is likely to miss at least Week 5.

Eagles RB Saquon Barkley is considered "week to week" with the hamstring injury he suffered in Sunday's loss to the Rams, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "It’s not considered to be a long-term injury," Rapoport adds. Barkley is a near lock to miss this weekend's game vs. the Jaguars and should be considered iffy for Week 6. With RB Tank Bigsby (core) heading to IR, Will Shipley is the last RB standing on Philadelphia's 53-man roster. RBs Dameon Pierce and Jaydon Blue are on the practice squad. We'll see what moves the Eagles make this week, but Shipley is a good bet to lead the backfield against Jacksonville, making him at least a RB3 or flex option. Eagles RB Tank Bigsby needs core-muscle surgery for an injury suffered in the Week 4 loss to the Rams, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Bigsby will be placed on IR with the hope that he's back in "six weeks or shorter," per Rapoport. Philadelphia also lost RB Saquon Barkley to a hamstring injury on Sunday. We're still waiting to find out how long he'll be sidelined.

Tank Bigsby took over the Philadelphia backfield Sunday after Saquon Barkley left with a hamstring injury after his second carry. Bigsby carried 14 times for 55 yards (3.9 per rush) in the loss to the Rams. Will Shipley followed with 6 carries for 23 yards (3.8). Each guy finished with no catches on a single target. They played a matching 29 snaps, but Shipley got a slight boost from Bigsby leaving late in the fourth quarter with an apparent groin injury. Shipley took the remaining six plays.

Eagles RB Saquon Barkley pulled up with an apparent right leg injury on his second carry against the Rams. Barkley sustained a non-contact injury, pulling up as he reached the sideline. He hopped around keeping weight off the leg and then seemed to be trying to work out the hamstring before leaving with trainers. Barkley was, at least, walking down the sideline under his own power. We'll watch for updates on this situation.

Eagles RB Saquon Barkley hurt his left shoulder on the first play of Sunday's win over the Titans. He managed to return for 11 more snaps in the second half, but finished the game with just four carries and a catch for 20 total yards. In Barkley's near-absence, Tank Bigsby "led" the Philly rushing with 33 yards on 13 attempts, a sickly 2.5-yard average. Will Shipley followed with seven carries for 24 yards (3.4 per rush). Each guy caught both of his targets for a mere 5 yards apiece. Bigsby contributed the team's lone rushing score.

Barkley returned for a the start of the second half but had just 3 more carries and 1 catch the rest of the way. RBs Tank Bigsby (13 carries, 2 targets) and Will Shipley (7 carries, 2 targets) split work fairly evenly with Barkley limited. Bigsby came away with 38 yards and a TD to Shipley's 29 yards and would be the better fantasy play if Barkley misses time. We should learn more tomorrow.

Eagles RB Saquon Barkley matched his season high with 22 carries in Monday night's win over the Packers. But he averaged just 2.7 yards per rush in totaling 60 yards on the ground, with a quarter of that coming on a 15-yard first half dash. Barkley did add 41 yards on 3 receptions, though it's worth noting that he collected all of that on a single swing pass that produced 41 yards on after-catch space plus a nice spin move. He also lost a 21-yard run in the second quarter to a holding penalty on G Brett Toth. One thing that did change vs. Green Bay: Barkley played his smallest snap share for any healthy game this year.

We'll update Barkley's status when we know more. Barkley has having a huge day before exiting, totaling 174 yards and two TDs. His absence leaves Philadelphia with RBs Tank Bigsby, Will Shipley, and A.J. Dillon.

Eagles RB Saquon Barkley is listed as "did not practice" with a knee issue on Monday's injury report. The team didn't actually practice just a day after their loss to Denver. Barkley recorded a season-low 6 carries on a season-low 72% snap rate in that one, and the knee could have been a factor. Of course, we're also talking about a veteran RB on a short week, so this could turn out to be nothing at all. We'll update Barkley's status again on Tuesday. His absence vs. the Giants on Thursday night would likely leave RBs Will Shipley and A.J. Dillon working in a timeshare.

Update: Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Barkley had "general soreness" coming out of the Broncos game and "fully expects" to play on Thursday night.

Eagles RB Saquon Barkley heads into Monday night with the 10th-best PPR score at the position for Week 5. But his production against the Broncos carried positive and negative. Barkley caught three passes for 47 yards and a TD but added just six carries for 30 yards. That marked his fewest carries and yards for a healthy game since 2022 with the Giants.

Eagles RB Will Shipley (oblique) put in a full practice on Wednesday. That should have him on track to play vs. the Buccaneers this weekend. Shipley should return as Philadelphia's No. 2 RB, but we'll keep an eye on how snaps are divvied behind workhorse Saquon Barkley.
