Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Chargers RB J.K. Dobbins (knee) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Falcons. We don’t have a timetable for his return, but it wouldn’t be at all surprising if he misses multiple games. Dobbins’ absence figures to leave Gus Edwards as Los Angeles’ lead runner this weekend, but he’ll cede passing-down work to RBs Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal.
Chargers RB J.K. Dobbins will miss time with a knee sprain he suffered in Monday night's loss to the Ravens, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "He’s out this week against the Falcons and up in the air after that," Rapoport adds. We'll look for more details on Dobbins' injury and timeline for return, but it sounds like there's a chance he misses multiple games. We'd try to keep Dobbins stashed on fantasy benches for now. His absence leaves RB Gus Edwards as the Chargers' lead runner vs. Atlanta this weekend. We're expecting RB Hassan Haskins to mix in on early downs and RB Kimani Vidal to handle most of the passing downs.
Chargers RB J.K. Dobbins injured his left knee in the first half of Monday night's game vs. the Ravens. He was initially deemed questionable to return before being ruled out during the second half. Dobbins had a large brace on the injured knee, according to the ESPN broadcast. This is the same left knee in which Dobbins tore multiple ligaments in August 2021. We'll update his status as soon as we know more. Dobbins' absence would leave Gus Edwards as the Chargers' lead ball carrier. RB Hassan Haskins could see a bit more work on early downs, while RB Kimani Vidal would be the favorite for primary pass-catching duties.
Chargers RB J.K. Dobbins delivered a pair of TD runs in Sunday night's win over the Bengals, scoring from 1 yard out in the second quarter and then delivering the game winner from 29 yards out with 18 seconds left in regulation. He did so on just 11 carries, however, and added one 3-yard catch on his lone target.
Broncos S Brandon Jones is inactive for today's game against the Falcons.
Broncos HC Sean Payton said Monday that RB Audric Estime will get more work going forward. We got a similar report from CBS' Tracy Wolfson on Sunday morning. Estime finished the loss to the Ravens with five carries -- and those all came in the fourth quarter.
Jaguars TE Evan Engram drew a team-high 10 targets in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. That marked a 33.3% share of Trevor Lawrence's targeted throws. He caught five for 45 yards, each of which also led the team on a sluggish passing day for the Jags.
Broncos WR Courtland Sutton had 10 targets against the Ravens, catching seven for 122 yards. He also threw a TD pass to QB Bo Nix. Despite the performance, the Broncos were crushed 41-10 by the Ravens.
Broncos QB Bo Nix had a disappointing day throwing for 223 yards and an interception with no passing TDs. He did catch a TD pass from WR Courtland Sutton in the game, but was unable to take advantage of a soft Ravens defense.
CBS' Tracy Wolfson reports that Broncos RB Audric Estime is expected to be more involved in today's game vs. the Ravens. The rookie has just 10 carries across four games this season, so "more involved" is a low bar to clear. Estime isn't a viable Week 9 fantasy play. But this report is another reason to shy away from RB Javonte Williams today against Baltimore's eighth-ranked RB defense.
Chargers RB J.K. Dobbins posted 98 yards, 1 TD, and a season-high 25 carries in Sunday's win over Denver. Previously, he hadn't topped 17 rush attempts this season. Note that Gus Edwards missed this one with an ankle injury.
Broncos CB Pat Surtain II left Sunday's game agains the Chargers with a concussion. He entered the week outside the top 70 DBs in fantasy points per game, so there's not much IDP impact here. But missing their lead corner obviously hurts a Denver team D that has ranked among the best in fantasy so far. His absence would help Saints WRs in their Week 7 matchup if Surtain remains out. Of course, Chris Olave sustained a concussion Sunday as well. We'll see about both situations as the week goes on.
Jaguars TE Evan Engram returned from a hamstring injury to post 10 catches for 102 yards in Week 6. His target share was a healthy 28.5%.
Jaguars TE Evan Engram (hamstring) is active for today’s game vs. the Bears. It’ll be his first action since hurting his hamstring in pre-game warmups ahead of Week 2. Engram was limited in practice all this week. He comes with elevated risk but is still probably worth using for many fantasy teams. See where Engrams sits in the Week 6 TE Rankings.
Jaguars TE Evan Engram (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday morning’s game vs. the Bears after a limited week of practice. HC Doug Pederson has sounded more optimistic about Engram’s availability this week than last, so we’re tentatively expecting him to play. We’ll get Jacksonville’s inactives around 8 am ET on Sunday.
Broncos RB Audric Estime (ankle) has been activated from IR and put in a full practice on Wednesday. It looks like he'll be available for this weekend's game vs. the Chargers. Estime lost a fumble and then hurt his ankle in the opener, so we wouldn't expect him to have a significant role in the short term. We'll see if the rookie can work his way into Denver's backfield rotation.
Jaguars TE Evan Engram (hamstring) remained limited in Wednesday's practice. He was limited all three days last week before missing the Colts game. HC Doug Pederson was optimistic about Engram's chances of playing vs. the Bears this weekend when asked on Wednesday, although he stopped short of guaranteeing that Engram will be out there. We'll keep tabs on his status over the next few days.
Jaguars TE Evan Engram (hamstring) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Colts. He got in three limited practices this week, so he should be back for Week 6. TE Brenton Strange gets another start today but would be a desperation fantasy play. He's averaged 4.7 targets, 2.7 catches, and 32 yards over the past three games.
Jaguars TE Evan Engram (hamstring) is "not tracking to play" vs. the Colts tomorrow, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Engram put in three limited practices this week but evidently isn't ready for game action yet. Barring a setback, he should play vs. the Bears next week. His absence keeps TE Brenton Strange in the lead role for another week. He's averaged 4.7 targets, 2.7 catches, and 32 yards over the past three games.
Broncos RB Tyler Badie (back) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Raiders. We’ll see if rookie RB Blake Watson makes his debut, but RBs Javonte Williams and Jaleel McLaughlin figure to handle the vast majority of the backfield work.
