New York Jets Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Jets HC Robert Saleh said Wednesday that QB Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) won't play again this season. That's no surprise with the 5-9 Jets eliminated from the postseason picture. Rodgers was activated from IR, though, so that he can continue practicing the rest of the way. He should be able to participate in the offseason program and is on track to be ready for the start of the 2024 campaign.

Jets QB Aaron Rodgers admitted on the Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday that his Achilles still isn't at 100%. He expects to be there in another few weeks. That's not at all a surprise considering he's just a little more than three months removed from the injury. What would be a surprise is if the 5-9 Jets put Rodgers back on the field this season. With QB Zach Wilson in concussion protocol, QB Trevor Siemian is the favorite to start Sunday's game vs. the Commanders.

Jets QB Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) is likely to be medically cleared to play in Week 16, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. It's still unclear if Rodgers will return for a Jets team with a slim chance at the playoffs. But the fact that he's set to be cleared just a little more than three months after tearing his Achilles is borderline miraculous. We're still betting against Rodgers playing again this season, but he'll be ready to go for the 2024 campaign.

Raiders WR Davante Adams (illness) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Chargers. He didn’t practice yesterday, but we’ve seen nothing to suggest that he’ll be limited in this one.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Raiders WR Davante Adams (illness) is expected to play vs. the Chargers tonight. We'll look for any reports of Adams being limited in this one, but we're tentatively expecting him to play his usual role. See where he sits in the Week 15 WR Rankings.

Raiders WR Davante Adams (illness) did not practice on Wednesday and is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game vs. the Chargers. Guys almost always play through illnesses, but we'll look for more information on Adams' status and get Vegas' inactives around 7 pm ET tomorrow.

The Giants have activated QB Tyrod Taylor (ribs) from IR. That should return him to the backup role behind Tommy DeVito. Don't be surprised if Taylor's return makes HC Brian Daboll less patient with QB mistakes, but this isn't a situation affecting too many fantasy lineups regardless of who's behind center.

Jets RB Breece Hall delivered a top-5 fantasy score in Sunday's win over the Texans, thanks almost exclusively to his biggest receiving production of the year. Hall tallied 8 receptions for 86 yards and a TD on 9 targets. That tied his season high for targets and set new top marks in catches and yards. The 86 yards were 10 more than Hall's previous high this season and 32 more than his next-best outing. He has now seen 8+ targets in three straight games, though Sunday marked just the second time he has garnered more than five looks in a game QB Zach Wilson played the whole way. Hall remains a weak bet for rushing production. He gained 40 yards on 10 carries against Houston, his fifth straight contest with 40 yards or less and ninth game this year with less than 50. But the receiving should make Hall a starter for most PPR lineups going forward.

We wouldn't say that Jets QB Zach Wilson has been good for WR Garrett Wilson this season. But the QB's return to the lineup for Sunday's win over the Texans certainly looks like good news vs. the team's other options at the position. Garrett Wilson posted game highs in targets (14), receptions (9), and yards (108). The yardage also marked a season high, while the targets and catches matched his previous bests. In nine games now that Zach Wilson has started and finished, Garrett Wilson has averaged 11.3 targets, 6.3 receptions, 76 yards, 12.2 yards per catch and 6.76 yards per target. In the other four games, those numbers have been: 7.5 targets, 4.25 receptions, 34.3 yards, 8.1 per catch, and 4.57 per target. Zach Wilson hasn't become a trustworthy QB yet. But he's better for the team's lead wideout than Tim Boyle or Trevor Siemian. Garrett Wilson looks like a solid-to-good play for matchups with the Dolphins and Commanders the next two weeks. We'll see about a Week 17 visit to Cleveland.

Jets RB Breece Hall (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Texans. He only got in a limited practice on Friday, adding some risk to his fantasy profile. But we haven’t heard anything about the ankle limiting Hall’s playing time or volume today.

Jets RB Breece Hall (ankle) is expected to play vs. the Texans today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Hall only got in a limited practice on Friday but told reporters on Thursday that he'd play in this one. We're not expecting the ankle to be a major factor today.

Jets RB Breece Hall (ankle) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Texans. He only got in a limited practice on Friday. Hall said Thursday that he’ll play against Houston, but the ankle issue adds some risk to his Week 14 fantasy profile.

Jets RB Breece Hall (ankle) missed his second straight practice on Thursday. He told reporters afterward, though, that he expects to play vs. the Texans this weekend. Hall can stay penciled into Week 14 fantasy lineups for now. We'll see how he's listed on the final injury report tomorrow.

Jets RB Breece Hall (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. He was limited in practice last week by a hamstring, but this is a new issue. We'll see if Hall is able to get back on the practice field tomorrow.

The Giants have designated QB Tyrod Taylor to return from IR, opening his three-week practice window. Taylor missed the last four games with a rib injury, so we'd doubt he needs much buildup time before he's ready to play again. The bigger question might be whether the Giants want to bother going back to the 34-year-old backup or just ride with Tommy DeVito the rest of the way. Neither is likely to be much of a fantasy factor over the season's final few weeks. But DeVito has managed finishes of QB20, QB18, QB7, and QB20 over his four games as the primary QB. We'll watch for word on the Giants' QB plans this week, ahead of a Monday night home date with the Packers.

The Jets' offense was again putrid in Week 13's loss vs. the Falcons. The team benched QB Tim Boyle in the contest and has now moved on to its fourth signal-caller of the year, Trevor Siemian. Unfortunately, RB Breece Hall continues to be hamstrung by these poor circumstances. The second-year back posted 13 carries for 16 rushing yards on Sunday and only managed to bail out fantasy managers in PPR leagues by securing 6 catches for 29 yards. The Jets' remaining schedule isn't scary (18th RB strength of schedule per our adjusted fantasy points allowed), but the dismal offense relegates Hall to mid-to-low-end RB2 status from here on out.

Jets RB Breece Hall (hamstring) is active for today’s game vs. the Falcons. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday, so we’re not expecting the hammy to be an issue. RB Dalvin Cook (shoulder) is also active.

A source tells NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that Jets QB Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) is "unlikely" to play again this season. Rodgers got back on the practice field this week -- less than three months after tearing his Achilles. But the thought all along was that he'd only play again if the Jets were still in the playoff hunt. At 4-7, they'd likely need to win out to earn a postseason berth. So we'll be forced to watch more Tim Boyle or Zach Wilson or Trevor Siemian the rest of the way. Rodgers is at least on track to return to save WR Garrett Wilson and RB Breece Hall in 2024.

Jets RBs Breece Hall (hamstring) and Dalvin Cook (shoulder) are expected to play vs. the Falcons today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Hall practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday, so we're not too worried about the hamstring.

Jets RB Breece Hall (hamstring) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Falcons. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday, so we’re fully expecting Hall to play. We’ll get the Jets’ inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. RB Dalvin Cook (shoulder) is also questionable.
