Aaron Rodgers gushes over Garrett Wilson (again)

Jets QB Aaron Rodgers gushed over WR Garrett Wilson in an interview during Thursday night's Hall of Fame Game. "Garrett has the potential to really be special in this league for a long time," Rodgers said. "Because he's got all the right things you need. He's got incredible talent. He's got a great work ethic. And he's a freakin' great kid. ... Carries himself like a seasoned vet." Rodgers also compared Wilson's "traits" to WR Davante Adams' for the second time in the past few weeks. It sure sounds like Rodgers and Wilson are already vibing, which can only help Wilson's chances of building off an impressive rookie season.

We wouldn't say that Jets QB Zach Wilson has been good for WR Garrett Wilson this season. But the QB's return to the lineup for Sunday's win over the Texans certainly looks like good news vs. the team's other options at the position. Garrett Wilson posted game highs in targets (14), receptions (9), and yards (108). The yardage also marked a season high, while the targets and catches matched his previous bests. In nine games now that Zach Wilson has started and finished, Garrett Wilson has averaged 11.3 targets, 6.3 receptions, 76 yards, 12.2 yards per catch and 6.76 yards per target. In the other four games, those numbers have been: 7.5 targets, 4.25 receptions, 34.3 yards, 8.1 per catch, and 4.57 per target. Zach Wilson hasn't become a trustworthy QB yet. But he's better for the team's lead wideout than Tim Boyle or Trevor Siemian. Garrett Wilson looks like a solid-to-good play for matchups with the Dolphins and Commanders the next two weeks. We'll see about a Week 17 visit to Cleveland.

Jets WR Garrett Wilson managed just two catches for nine yards in Sunday's 32-6 loss to the Bills. QB Zach Wilson was benched after throwing for just 81 yards through the game's first 42 minutes. QB Tim Boyle threw for only 33 yards the rest of the way. Wilson did lead the Jets with eight targets for a strong 27.6% share. But most of those targets had very little chance of actually being completed. Wilson, of course, has been producing solid fantasy numbers all season in spite of bad QB play. So we have to believe the elbow injury that had him questionable coming in played a part. We'll keep an eye on that this coming week, along with the Jets' plans at QB. It won't be pretty regardless of who's under center, but Wilson's talent plus volume should allow him to rebound. He gets a plus Week 12 matchup vs. the Dolphins, and the Jets have the eighth easiest WR schedule from Weeks 12 through 17.

Jets WR Garrett Wilson (elbow) is active for today’s game vs. the Bills. He was able to play through this issue last week but admitted on Friday that the elbow will be a factor today. It adds risk to Wilson’s Week 11 fantasy profile, but he still belongs in most fantasy lineups.

Jets WR Garrett Wilson told reporters on Friday that he'll play vs. the Bills this weekend, despite being listed as questionable with his elbow injury. "It's doing better," Wilson said. "I'm feeling good, so we're going to rock this weekend." But Wilson also admitted that the injury will limit him, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini. We'll look for further updates on just how limited Wilson will be. For now, we're still expecting him to play a full slate of snaps. The elbow obviously adds risk, but Wilson still belongs in most fantasy lineups. He’s racked up 52 targets over his last four games.

Jets WR Garrett Wilson (elbow) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Bills. He was able to play through this issue last week and got in three limited practices this week. HC Robert Saleh said Friday morning that Wilson still has "some hurdles to clear" but should be able to play this weekend. We'll keep you updated on Wilson's status.
