Brock Purdy Unlikely To Play Week 8

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said Monday that it'd be "a reach" for QB Brock Purdy (toe) to play against the Texans this weekend, according to insider Jerry McDonald. Purdy was limited in practice all last week, but the team continues to play it safe with his return from the second iteration of this toe injury. QB Mac Jones will likely make his sixth start of the season on Sunday. He was cooled off by a tough Falcons defense in Week 7 and gets another challenging matchup against Houston in Week 8.

Brock Purdy Ruled Out For Week 6

The injury-ravaged 49ers officially ruled QB Brock Purdy out for San Francisco's Week 6 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Purdy did some work on the side at practice on Friday, but was never close to returning. Mac Jones will be under center once again for the Niners.

Brock Purdy Could Miss More Games

49ers QB Brock Purdy suffered a setback with his toe injury last week, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Purdy wasn't close to playing vs. the Rams on Thursday night, per Rapoport, and "could miss additional games." We'll keep tabs on Purdy's status when the 49ers get back to work next week. QB Mac Jones has played well enough so far that the 49ers can be cautious with Purdy (although they evidently weren't cautious enough the first time around). San Francisco's bye is not until Week 14.

Brock Purdy & Top Two WRs Out For Week 5

49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe) and WRs Ricky Pearsall (knee) and Jauan Jennings (ankle, ribs) have all been ruled out for Thursday night's game against the Rams. It doesn't sound like any of their injuries are serious, but the short week did them no favors. We'll see if they can make it back for Week 6. QB Mac Jones makes another start vs. the Rams this week. He played well in Week 2 and 3 starts, completing 66% of his passes at 7.0 yards per attempt with 4 TDs vs. 1 INT. He'll be working with a rag tag group of pass catchers on Thursday night, though. The WR corps figures to be led by Kendrick Bourne, Demarcus Robinson, and Skyy Moore, while Jake Tonges again leads the TE room. We'd try not to mess with any of these guys in Week 5 fantasy lineups. RB Christian McCaffrey will be very busy yet again.

Brock Purdy And Top Two WRs Out Again Tuesday

49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe) did not practice on Tuesday. "I feel a lot better compared to the Week 1 game," Purdy said. "Toe is just a little sore from the game, but nowhere near as bad as after Seattle (in Week 1)." Purdy did not say whether he expects to play vs. the Rams on Thursday night, though. We'll see if he practices tomorrow and how he's listed on the final injury report. WRs Ricky Pearsall (knee) and WR Jauan Jennings (ankle, rib) also missed Wednesday's practice.

Brock Purdy Dealing With Toe Soreness

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said Monday that QB Brock Purdy is dealing with soreness in the toe he injured earlier this season. Purdy reportedly felt fine during the Week 4 loss to the Jaguars but called Shanahan complaining of soreness on Sunday night. The situation is complicated by the fact that the Niners play the Rams this Thursday night. "Hopefully we'll find out more later today, but any time guys are sore and hurting on a Monday, you usually don't stress too much about it," Shanahan said. "But anytime you have a Thursday game, it's a totally different element. So, I'm concerned with anybody who's not totally healthy at this moment, but we'll have to get more information on that later today to really have a clue of what to speculate." We'll keep you updated on Purdy's status. If he can't play on Thursday night, San Francisco would go back to QB Mac Jones, who's battling his own knee injury.

Brock Purdy "Progressing," Still Limited Wednesday

49ers QB Brock Purdy (left shoulder, toe) was limited in Wednesday's practice. HC Kyle Shanahan said Purdy is "progressing good with his toe, he’s better today than he was on Sunday." We're tentatively expecting him back for this weekend's game vs. the Jaguars but will keep you updated on his status over the next few days. Purdy's mobility could be limited coming off that toe injury, though, and his pass-catching corps is banged-up. That has Purdy outside the top 12 in our Week 4 QB rankings.

Brock Purdy Limited Again But Making Progress

49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe, left shoulder) remained limited in Thursday's practice, "although he appeared to be doing a bit more than he did previously," according to The Athletic's Vic Tafur. Purdy said afterward that he's happy with the progress he's making and is "day to day." He added, "(I’ve) definitely got to see come game time how I feel. Obviously I want to play every game, dude. … If you ask me, I’d love to (play), but I’m trying to be smart with my body.” We'll see how Purdy's listed on Friday's final injury report and monitor his status leading up to Sunday's game vs. the Cardinals.

Brock Purdy Iffy for Week 2 with Multiple Injuries

Niners QB Brock Purdy came away from Sunday's win over the Seahawks with an injury to his left shoulder and a toe injury, according to multiple reports. The toe issue is reportedly more significant than the shoulder. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Purdy's "uncertain" for Sunday's game at New Orleans.

Josh Dobbs Will Start Week 18

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said Wednesday that QB Josh Dobbs will start this weekend's game vs. the Cardinals. QB Brock Purdy will miss the game with his right elbow injury, and San Francisco evidently saw enough of QB Brandon Allen earlier this year. Dobbs has flashed some fantasy upside in the past, most recently last year with the Cardinals and Vikings, finishing as a top-12 fantasy QB in six of his 12 full games. With rushing ability, a nice group of weapons, and a strong offensive scheme, Dobbs is an interesting play this week in superflex leagues and DFS.
