The Patriots traded up to select Baylor WR Tyquan Thornton with the 50th pick of the 2022 NFL Draft. Thornton goes 6’2, 181 pounds and blazed a 4.28-second 40 time at the Combine. No, surprise then, that he averaged 15.7 yards per catch across 4 college seasons. Thornton also has strong hands (3.1% drop rate last year) and a nice catch radius. We’ll see if he can develop into a more complete receiver, but Thornton at least has a shot to emerge as a downfield weapon. It’s a major surprise that he landed in Round 2, but his fantasy stock is certainly on the rise.
Patriots WR Tyquan Thornton (foot) is active for today’s game vs. the Commanders. WR Kayshon Boutte is a healthy scratch, leaving Demario Douglas, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Jalen Reagor, and Thornton as New England’s top four WRs.
Patriots WR Tyquan Thornton (shoulder) is active for today’s game vs. the Raiders. He has a chance to step in as New England’s No. 3 WR with JuJu Smith-Schuster and Demario Douglas out. But Thornton should not be in fantasy lineups in his 2023 debut. WR Kayshon Boutte is a healthy scratch.
Patriots WR Tyquan Thornton has been actiavted from IR, setting him up to make his 2023 debut vs. the Raiders on Sunday. It's good timing for New England, with WRs JuJu Smith-Schuster and Demario Douglas out with their concussions. But Thornton should not be in Week 6 fantasy lineups. The Patriots also elevated WR Jalen Reagor from the practice squad.
Patriots WR Tyquan Thornton (shoulder) has been designated to return from IR. He'll practice this week and is eligible to play on Sunday vs. the Raiders. New England could use Thornton with WRs JuJu Smith-Schuster and Demario Douglas in concussion protocol. But Thornton showed nothing last year or this offseason to make him a legitimate fantasy option right now.
Patriots WR Tyquan Thornton (shoulder) has been placed on IR. He'll miss at least the first four weeks of the season. The second-year receiver was sidelined during the spring with a soft-tissue injury and then hurt his shoulder in mid-August. He's not worth rostering in redraft. JuJu Smith-Schuster, DeVante Parker, Kendrick Bourne, and Demario Douglas figure to open the season as New England's top four WRs.
