Week 15 Wide Receiver Preview: Can Michael Wilson Stay Hot in Houston?
Top Fantasy WRs for Week 15
Let's break down the key usage notes and matchups that are driving our Week 15 WR Rankings.
1. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, SEA
JSN brings his position-leading scoring profile against a Colts D trying to survive without its top two CBs.
2. Ja'Marr Chase, CIN
Chase went 5-44-0 last week against the Bills, but he had success two weeks ago against the Ravens going 7-110-0 on 14 targets. With Tee Higgins likely not playing, Chase should have heavy volume from Joe Burrow. The Ravens have struggled against opposing WR1s including giving up 148 yards to D.K. Metcalf last week. Chase could contend for WR1 overall this week.
3. Puka Nacua, LAR
Nacua dominated the Cardinals defense going 7-167-2 on 11 targets last week, only playing the first three quarters of the blowout. Nacua continues to be phenomenal and should continue that trend against a Lions’ secondary dealins with multiple injuries. The Lions gave up big plays downfield last week to Ceedee Lamb and Ryan Flournoy. Nacua should follow suit and have another big game as a must start.
4. Amon-Ra St. Brown, DET
St. Brown surprisingly played last week despite his ankle injury going 6-92-0 on 9 targets. He isn’t even on the injury report this week. His consistency makes him a must play in PPR leagues despite a tough match-up against the Rams who especially excel against slot WRs. They can be had with some volume though allowing 19+ PPR fantasy points to WR1s in three of the last five match-ups. Slot St. Brown into your lineups.
5. Rashee Rice, KC
Rice is coming off his worst outing of the season against the league's toughest pass defense. But he still garnered eight targets even in that game. He's averaging 9.6 targets per outing and has yet to catch fewer than 4 receptions in a game.
6. CeeDee Lamb, DAL
Lamb was a full-go in Thursday's practice, putting him on track to clear concussion protocol before Sunday night's game vs. the Vikings. Minnesota ranks first in adjusted fantasy points allowed to WRs. But they've allowed 18+ PPR points to big-name WRs such as D.K. Metcalf, A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Ladd McConkey, and Amon-Ra St. Brown. Lamb remains a must-start.
7. Nico Collins, HOU
Collins has shown some boom or bust tendencies this year, falling shy of 60 yards on five occasions. But you can generally bank on his volume. He’s hit 8 targets in all but one of his past seven outings. Collins remains a clear WR1 against an underperforming Arizona defense.
8. George Pickens, DAL
Pickens is coming off a Week 14 dud. But he led all WRs in PPR points over the previous three weeks. Despite Sunday night's matchup against the Vikings' top-ranked WR defense, Pickens has too much upside to consider benching.
9. A.J. Brown, PHI
Brown has become an easy weekly start over the past four weeks, drawing 10+ targets each time and hitting 100+ yards in three straight -- even amid Jalen Hurts' struggles at the Chargers last Monday night. Vegas arrives with no reason to downgrade Philly's top receiver. We'll see whether cold weather chills overall passing volume.
10. Davante Adams, LAR
Adams finally hit a game with no TDs, his first since Week 6. He only went 4-29-0 on 6 targets in the game with the two targets he didn’t catch as end zone targets. The team still looks to him first when they get down near the goal line and it is a great spot against a Lions’ secondary ravaged by injuries. He has a low floor, but this is the type of match-up to bet on Adams getting back in the end zone.
11. Jameson Williams, DET
Williams went 7-96-0 last week and has been a top-12 PPR WR in four of the last five games. He has shown more versatility than just being a deep threat which has added a new dynamic to the passing game without TE Sam LaPorta. The Rams are a tough secondary to crack, but the passing volume should be enough to keep Williams afloat in PPR leagues. He should be started in all formats and certainly could spring a long TD.
12. Michael Wilson, ARI
Wilson’s on an incredible run, one that includes three games of 100+ yards over his past four. All three came without Marvin Harrison Jr., and it appears as though Harrison will miss another game with a heel injury. We’re tempering expectations a bit this week vs. an elite Houston defense. Still, you’d need to be loaded at WR to bench Wilson, who’s seen at least a 30% target share in each big week.
13. Jaylen Waddle, MIA
Waddle's been limited by a low-volume passing offense and a shaky Tua Tagovailoa. Over his past three, the WR has recorded lines of 3-52, 3-40, and 5-50-1. But he retains a WR1 ceiling this week against a leaky Pittsburgh secondary, one that’s sixth-worst in adjusted fantasy points allowed.
14. Chris Olave, NO
Olave's 120 targets rank second among all WRs -- only 1 behind Jaxson Smith-Njigba's 121. Despite the Saints' overall struggles, Olave has thrived due to that volume. He's scored a minimum of 6 PPR points in every game with 10-plus points in 11-of-13. Back in Week 10, Olave caught 5 balls for a season-best 104 yards and a TD against this Carolina secondary. We can't expect a repeat of those gaudy numbers, but Olave's consistent volume in an improving offense keeps him as a high-end WR2 this week.
15. Wan'Dale Robinson, NYG
Robinson leads the entire NFL with a 32.7% target share since Week 9. He ranks 15th among WRs in expected PPR points per game and 16th in actual points per game over that stretch. Robinson has settled in as a reliable WR2 and gets a plus matchup this weekend vs. Washington's 23rd-ranked WR defense.
16. Tetairoa McMillan, CAR
McMillian has scored 11-plus PPR points in Carolina's last four outings. That included a 5/60/0 line against the Saints in Week 10. McMillian drew 8 targets in that game and ranks 13th among all WRs with a 27% target share. While the Panthers will look to establish the run, McMillian will see plenty of opportunities as Carolina's undisputed No. 1 pass-catcher. He's a mid-range WR2 with top-12 upside.
17. D.K. Metcalf, PIT
Metcalf erupted with a huge 7-148 line vs. Baltimore, boosted by a couple of nice deep balls from Aaron Rodgers. The veteran has still gone six straight weeks without a receiving score, but he sticks in WR2 range as the focal point of Pittsburgh’s passing game. Note: Metcalf's fully expected to play despite being listed on the injury report with an abdomen injury.
18. Zay Flowers, BAL
Flowers went 8-124-0 against the Steelers, but still hasn’t found the end zone since Week 1.Two weeks ago, Flowers only went 2-6-0, but had a TD called back due to a penalty in that one. The Bengals' defense has done well against top WRs with only one 100-yard receiving day so far this season. With Lamar Jackson looking stronger, Flowers could see enough volume, but he likely sits as more of a WR2 this week.
19. Justin Jefferson, MIN
Jefferson is coming off another dud. The good news? QB J.J. McCarthy had one of his best games as a pro last week, completing 70% of his passes with 3 TDs vs. 0 INTs. The better news? Sunday night brings a matchup against Dallas' 32nd-ranked WR defense. If you've survived Jefferson's cold streak, stick with him in fantasy lineups for this one.
20. DeVonta Smith, PHI
Smith has watched A.J. Brown pull away in opportunities and production over the past four games, while Jalen Hurts' lackluster play has dramatically decreased the rate of catchable targets available. But Smith has actually seen a slight increase in his expected PPR points per game over the same span, thanks to the team's passing-volume increase. This week brings a Raiders D that plays zone coverage at a higher rate than any other. Smith has performed particularly well against zone coverage over the past three years.
21. Jauan Jennings, SF
Jennings has caught 4+ balls in seven straight games. He's averaged 6.3 targets, 4.3 catches, 45 yards, and 0.7 TDs with QB Brock Purdy back over the last three (and Purdy didn't play well the last two). We expect a bounce back in Sunday's plus spot vs. the Titans. Tennessee ranks 18th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to WRs.
22. Jakobi Meyers, JAC
Meyers went 4-39-1, scoring a TD in his third straight game. His 10 targets ranked highest on the team. His possession ability to play from the slot has led to plenty of targets and catches since being traded to the Jaguars. This week the Jags will likely lean on the run, capping Meyers upside. But he should be a TD dependent WR2 this week.
23. Deebo Samuel, WAS
Outside of a WR5 spike in Week 11, Samuel has finished between WR25 and WR47 in PPR points in each of his last four games. He's seeing enough volume to stay in fantasy lineups, especially in Sunday's plus matchup against the Giants' 22nd-ranked WR defense. But this is not the Samuel of old who brought week-winning upside.
24. Terry McLaurin, WAS
McLaurin has returned from his latest injury with 3-54-1, 7-96-1, and 3-41-0 receiving lines. He's a volatile fantasy play in this inconsistent Washington offense. But the ceiling is elevated this weekend in a plus matchup against the Giants' 22nd-ranked WR defense.
25. Christian Watson, GB
Watson only drew 4 targets last week, but still posted his best fantasy numbers of the season, thanks to a pair of long TD grabs. Since debuting in Week 8, Watson has established himself as Green Bay's No. 1 WR. He's scored 18-plus PPR points in three of his last four, but expectations should be lowered in Week 15. Watson will square off against CB Patrick Surtain and the Broncos. Still, Watson has been excellent and remains in the WR2 conversation even in a tough matchup.
26. Ladd McConkey, LAC
The Chargers' recent rushing lean has produced five straight games of six targets or fewer for McConkey. That adds downside risk, but last week marked just the third time all season that he fell short of 4 receptions. McConkey's two career meetings with the Chiefs have produced receiving lines of 5-67-1 and 6-74 (in Week 1 of this year).
27. Stefon Diggs, NE
Diggs went off for 10 catches and 146 yards in an early-season, primetime game at Buffalo. But since then, he's hit 70 yards only once. And he's totaled 46 yards over the past two games. Now, Drake Maye continues to play at an MVP level, helping boost Diggs’ WR2/3 value. But the downside remains scary-low here against a Bills unit that generally does well limiting WR1s.
28. Courtland Sutton, DEN
Sutton has only posted one top-25 weekly finish in his last eight games, and that came against a putrid Washington pass defense. This week, Sutton will face a formidable Green Bay defense that has allowed the 12th-fewest PPR points to opposing WRs. Sutton hasn't topped 70 receiving yards in a game since Week 8, while the Packers have only allowed one WR to top 70 yards in the same span. The Broncos also carry an implied total of just 20 points. Sutton should be viewed as a middling WR3 or Flex with limited ceiling.
29. Emeka Egbuka, TB
Played on Thursday Night
30. Michael Pittman Jr., IND
Pittman managed 12 targets in the game last week that ended Daniel Jones' season. And 10 of those looks came after Jones left. He has a chance to deliver on volume again, but the Seattle matchup and terrible QB situation combine to dramatically boost the downside risk -- especially outside full-PPR formats.
31. Khalil Shakir, BUF
Shakir found the end zone in Week 14, but he recorded only 16 yards in a win over the Bengals. He's now been held under 20 yards in three of his past four outings. While the floor is low, Shakir enters a positive road matchup with New England. He’s in play as a WR3.
32. Jordan Addison, MIN
While the production has been underwhelming, Addison has seen 7+ targets in four of his last five games. That type of volume on Sunday night would give him plenty of fantasy upside vs. Dallas' 32nd-ranked WR defense.
33. Chris Godwin, TB
Played on Thursday Night
34. Brian Thomas Jr., JAC
Thomas went 3-87-0 on 6 targets last week, his second highest receiving total of the season. He’s been placed back into the role he had success with last year, running deep routes and taking the top off of the defense. He could spring a big play this week, but the Jaguars will most likely attack the Jets on the ground. Thomas can be a flex player if needed, but it is more of a boom-or-bust week for him.
35. Jayden Reed, GB
Reed's first game since Week 2 was encouraging. Last week, he played 47% of Green Bay's snaps, ran 17 routes, and posted overall WR36 numbers. His playing time should increase as he gets further removed from the collarbone and toe injuries that sidelined him for most of the season. Reed gets a tough matchup in Week 15 against the Broncos, but remains on the WR3/Flex radar.
36. Xavier Worthy, KC
Worthy continues to show a lack of upside, but his production has steadied over the past three weeks with three straight finishes in the WR28 to WR37 range.
37. Jayden Higgins, HOU
Higgins still isn’t playing close to a full-time role. Still, he’s seen target shares of 23%, 17%, 32%, and 18% over his past four. His current role – combined with the Arizona matchup – continues to supply some Flex appeal.
38. Luther Burden III, CHI
While D.J. Moore faltered with Rome Odunze sidelined, Luther Burden ran a season-high 27 routes and tied his best marks in targets (6) and catches (4). In the last three weeks, Burden has posted overall WR35 numbers, which puts him on the cusp of WR3 territory in Week 15. The Browns have been a problematic matchup for WRs this season, so view Burden as a low-end WR3 or Flex option. Odunze also returned to practice on Wednesday, so keep an eye on his status and our Week 15 WR rankings for updates.
39. Keenan Allen, LAC
Allen has exceeded five targets just once among his past six games. He presents little upside in an offense that has fallen short of 200 passing yards in four straight contests.
40. Mike Evans, TB
Played on Thursday Night
41. Ricky Pearsall, SF
The 49ers are in an excellent spot on Sunday against a Titans defense looking forward to the offseason. San Francisco is implied for 28.5 points -- second most league-wide. It could certainly be a get-right spot for Pearsall, but he'd be tough to trust in fantasy lineups. He's totaled just nine targets, five catches, and 20 yards in three games back from injury.
42. Troy Franklin, DEN
Pat Bryant is poised to miss Week 15 with a hamstring injury. That will allow Franklin to reclaim Denver's No. 2 WR role for this week's matchup with the Packers. Franklin had an 80% route rate and a team-leading 22% target share in Denver's first 11 games. That usage puts him on the Flex radar in deeper leagues. However, the Packers allow the 12th-fewest fantasy points to WRs, and Denver's implied total of 20 points makes Franklin a somewhat unappealing option.
43. Chimere Dike, TEN
Here are Dike's PPR finishes among WRs over his last seven games: 16th, 15th, 92nd, 73rd, 18th, 97th, and 19th. Feast or famine! Dike at least gets a nice matchup on Sunday against a 49ers defense that ranks 31st in adjusted fantasy points allowed to slot receivers. Dike has run 68% of his routes from the slot this season.
44. Darius Slayton, NYG
Slayton was back in a full-time role last game, running a route on 90% of Giants pass plays. He drew just three targets, though, and has topped five targets in game just twice all season. With the Giants going run-heavy under interim HC Mike Kafka, Slayton will probably need a big play or TD to pay off in fantasy lineups this week. The matchup is at least good against Washington's 23rd-ranked WR defense.
45. Rome Odunze, CHI
Odunze missed last week and has been struggling with a stress fracture in his foot. Odunze returned to practice on Wednesday, which is a good sign for his Week 15 availability. However, Odunze has clearly been hobbled by the injury. He has produced single-digit PPR scores in four of his last five games after averaging 13.3 PPR points (WR11) in Chicago's first 8 games. We'll keep an eye on his practice status, but for now, Odunze is a risky Flex play against Cleveland's excellent pass defense.
46. Devaughn Vele, NO
Since Week 10, Vele has quietly produced solid production. In those four games, Vele has matched Chris Olave with a 91% route rate and drawn a respectable 23 targets. Carolina held Vele in check in Week 10, but he's caught 14 balls in his last three games. Vele has only topped double-digit PPR points once all season, but his recent uptick in targets keeps him in-play as a deep-league Flex option.
47. Jerry Jeudy, CLE
Jeudy boasts a 91% route rate and leads Cleveland's WRs with a 21% target share -- no other Browns' wideout exceeds 13%. Those are numbers indicative of a legit No. 1 WR, but Cleveland ranks 29th, averaging just 174.3 passing yards per game. That lack of volume and subpar QB play handicaps Jeudy's week-to-week upside. His Week 15 matchup versus the Bears is neutral, so Jeudy should be considered a middling Flex option in playoff lineups.
48. Alec Pierce, IND
The QB situation and bad matchup hurt all Colts pass catchers this week. Pierce takes on more risk, though, by virtue of his 18.9-yard aDOT compared with 7.9 for Michael Pittman Jr. and 5.1 for Tyler Warren. That makes him more difficult to target because of the time needed for the route to develop. And even if those targets arrive, they do so as lower-percentage plays.
49. Jalen Coker, CAR
Coker seems to have moved past Xavier Legetter as Carolina's No. 2 WR. In the Panthers' last four games, Coker ranks second in Carolina's WR corps in route rate (81%) and target share (15). He's had 4-plus targets in each of the Panthers' last four games and just had his best game of the season in Week 13 against the formidable Rams. This week, Coker is a modest Flex play in deeper leagues, facing a solid Saints' secondary.
50. Darnell Mooney, ATL
Played on Thursday Night
51. John Metchie, NYJ
Metchie went 4-34-0 last week with QB Brady Cook playing for most of the game. Metchie did drop a TD for the second straight week. Metchie’s 8 targets led the team, but the Jets offense will likely struggle with Cook slated to start again. The entire offense should be on your bench, including Metchie.
52. Kayshon Boutte, NE
Boutte exits his bye week as a fringe fantasy option. While he’s hit 13 PPR points in four of his past six, that stretch has been inflated by a 31.5% TD rate. Boutte hasn’t cleared five targets over that stretch and posted just 3-43 against the Bills back in Week 5.
53. Tre Tucker, LVR
Tucker has topped 3 catches just once over the past six games and hasn't reached 50 yards in a game since October 12.
54. Parker Washington, JAC
Washington didn’t play last week due to a hip injury but should return this week. Even if he returns, Washington could be limited and has already fallen behind Jakobi Meyers in the pecking order. He only ran 12 routes in Week 13 and could even fall to the fourth receiving option on the team behind TE Brenton Strange. Washington should be benched until further notice.
55. Adonai Mitchell, NYJ
Mitchell only went 1-24-0, but is two weeks removed from an 8-102-1 receiving line. Unfortunately, Brady Cook is likely to draw the start at QB, nuking the likelihood of Mitchell having success this week. That makes him borderline unusable this week, even against a Jaguars defense that struggles against outside WRs. Mitchell should be benched this week.
56. Romeo Doubs, GB
Jayden Reed's return cut into Romeo Doubs' opportunities. In Week 14, Doubs failed to record a catch and had a season-low 2 targets. In Week 15, Doubs must contend with a Denver defense that allows the eighth-fewest fantasy points to WRs. View Reed as a TD-dependent Flex option in deeper leagues.
57. Cooper Kupp, SEA
Kupp remained ahead of Rashid Shaheed in fantasy points last week by snagging a TD. But he trailed Shaheed in targets and catches for the first time among their five shared games. Kupp maintained the edge in routes for that contest, but Shaheed's the higher-upside athlete. That plus last week's usage makes him the more attractive option if you're fishing deep in the WR5 waters for a starter.
58. Rashid Shaheed, SEA
Shaheed still trailed Cooper Kupp in fantasy points last week, thanks to Kupp getting the TD between them. But the former Saint finally beat his new teammate in targets and receptions for the first time in their five shared games. That's enough to make us lean toward the younger, speedier Shaheed if you're deciding between Seattle wideouts in low-WR5 territory.
59. D.J. Moore, CHI
Moore had a chance to shine last week with Rome Odunze sidelined. Instead, Moore posted an abysmal 1-catch, (-4)-yard outing against Green Bay. Moore has now scored fewer than 5 PPR points in four of his last five outings. Whether Odunze returns or not, Moore is not a reliable option to insert into playoff lineups, especially against a Cleveland defense that has allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points to opposing WRs.
60. Quentin Johnston, LAC
The next time Johnston reaches 50 yards in a game will mark his first such performance since Week 9 and just his second since Week 4. The Chargers' recent rushing lean hurts, and the protection issues specifically damage QJ's downfield game even further.
