Seahawks QB Geno Smith returned to the field Monday after missing four practices with knee and hip issues.
ESPN's Brady Henderson: "Smith, 32, had no visible brace on the injured knee, nor did he appear to run with any limp. He took every first-team rep."
HC Mike Macdonald, when asked if Smith is a full go: "As far as I know, I think he's rolling."
Seattle indicated that it didn't expect Smith to be out long after testing revealed nothing serious in the knee or hip. And it sounds like all should be good from here.
Smith has operated as the uncontested QB1 through the offseason and training camp, despite some early-offseason murmurs that he might get a challenge.
I'm very intrigued to see what this Seahawks offense looks like under first-time OC Ryan Grubb, who coached high-powered units at the University of Washington the past two years. He and Smith get one of the league's best WR groups, plus enviable talent at TE and RB.
Smith never moved in our QB rankings amid this brief absence and remains a value pick with upside deep in QB2 territory of 2024 fantasy football drafts.
Are you drafting the 49ers star and eating the injury risk? Are you passing on him ... and missing out on the monster upside he totes? Let's dig into CMC and the rest of the 49ers.
