Giants HC John Harbaugh admitted Thursday that WR Malik Nabers (knee) is uncertain for the start of the season. "If he's out there, great. [If] he's not out there, great. You know, we'll be ready to go either way," Harbaugh said. "But I know he's fighting like crazy to do his best to be out there, and he's with the guys every day."
What They're Saying
More from Harbaugh on Nabers: "He's in the middle of it. It's such a hard thing. It's an ACL, and whatever else he had in that knee. Not a simple knee [injury], you know? So, um, he's in the slog of it, the grind of it, I would say. So, he's fighting through it, and he's here every day working hard at it. Just impossible to predict. I mean, the goal is to start the season and get out there sometime in training camp. That'd be the goal, and we'll see what happens."
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
As Harbaugh alluded to, Nabers' knee injury was more than just an ACL. He also needed a full meniscus repair during his first surgery on October 28. Then he had a second surgery recently to remove scar tissue that was causing stiffness.
The Giants originally thought Nabers could be ready for the start of training camp, according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, but have been less optimistic lately.
Week 1 now feels like the best-case scenario for Nabers' return. Opening the season on the PUP list, which would cost him the first four games, seems like a distinct possibility.
ADP Movement
Nabers' ADP has dropped about half a round over the last week, from the middle to end of Round 2. Don't be surprised to see him creep into the third round of drafts -- at least until we get some positive news on his progress.
Nabers sits 26th in our half-PPR rankings, so he's starting to move into a range where he makes sense as a draft consideration.
