Marvin Harrison Jr. Headshot

The Cardinals are sending WR Marvin Harrison Jr. and a 2027 seventh-round pick to the Texans for second- and sixth-rounders in the same draft. Harrison's rookie contract runs through 2027, with a club option for 2028. The Arizona portion of his 2026 campaign ends with just 5 catches for 85 yards and a TD.

What They're Saying

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport: "GM Monti Ossenfort held firm on his price, wanting a second-rounder this year. Once Houston went from a 2028 second to a 2027 second, it was happening."

HC DeMeco Ryans, after reportedly getting asked three times in his post-game presser: "You guys wanna know? We traded for Marvin Harrison."

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Playing with Stroud Can't Hurt

I'm not sure we can call this the "best" landing spot for Harrison, given QB C.J. Stroud's uneven play and WR Jayden Higgins' impending 2027 return from an ACL tear.

But Harrison's first two Ohio State seasons came with Stroud at QB, including his 2022 sophomore breakthrough:

  • 77 catches
  • 1,263 yards
  • 14 TDs
  • 16.4 yards per catch

That's gotta be a positive for a high-level talent who has rarely played to his potential in the pros.

Harrison doesn't figure to challenge Nico Collins' target lead but could benefit from defensive attention tilting his way. And Harrison should easily work past Xavier Hutchinson for the No. 2 role.

We'll see how he and Higgins fit together next year, but Higgins' ACL recovery should help Harrison's chances.

We'll also see whether Stroud gets an extension.

Other Winners & Losers: Bourne, Stroud Get Boosts

Michael Wilson might seem like a winner here, but Harrison hadn't been damaging his target share before leaving. So if you're boosting Wilson after this move, then you either had him underrated before or might be at risk of pushing him too high.

That said, Wilson has been seeing top-12 usage. So hang on to him either way.

WR Kendrick Bourne looks like the biggest winner. He already led Harrison by 1 target, 7 catches, and 23 yards for the season.

Bourne looks like a WR4 the rest of the way with modest upside in what might stay a pass-heavy offense.

And Stroud could get a nudge into QB1 territory if Harrison rebounds. The Houston QB entered the week already 12th in fantasy points per game among multi-game starters.
