Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday that he's not sure if WR Amari Cooper (ribs) will be able to play against the Eagles on Monday night. “I don’t know today," Jones admitted. "I’m hopeful those ribs can get comfortable enough to play." We'll keep a close eye on Cooper's status throughout the week, but the Monday night kickoff might leave fantasy owners in a tricky spot.

Cowboys WR Amari Cooper is dealing with bruised ribs, HC Mike McCarthy said Monday. Cooper reportedly suffered the injury back in Week 1 and aggravated the issue in Sunday's win over the Chargers. Cooper played his usual allotment of snaps in that one but finished with just 3 catches on 5 targets for 24 yards. We'll keep an eye on him this week, leading up to next Monday night's game vs. the Eagles.

Update: David Helman of the team website reports that Cooper says he's "optimistic he'll be feeling good enough to play by Monday." That makes it sound like the issue is bothering Cooper a fair amount right now. We'll have to watch reports on him throughout the week.

Cowboys WR Michael Gallup is expected to be sidelined 3-5 weeks with a calf strain, The Dallas Morning News' Michael Gehlken reports. Gallup figures to land on short-term IR. It's worth noting that Dallas has a Week 7 bye, so it's possible we don't see Gallup again until Week 8. He's not a must-hold in shallower fantasy leagues. WR Cedrick Wilson ran a route on 85% of Dallas' pass plays after Gallup exited Thursday night's opener and is worth a look on waiver wires. Gallup's absence, of course, will also free up targets for WRs Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb.

Cowboys WR Amari Cooper (ankle) played 13 snaps in Saturday's preseason game vs. the Texans. He finished catch-less with QB Garrett Gilbert getting the start -- but the takeaway here is that the ankle issues that sidelined Cooper for much of the offseason are no longer a concern. He's a high-upside target in the 3rd or 4th rounds of fantasy drafts.

The Cowboys have activated WR Amari Cooper from the PUP list after he passed his physical Tuesday. That should clear the veteran WR to return to practice. We'll see about his participation level in the coming days.

Jon Machota of The Athletic reports that Cowboys WR Amari Cooper has actually been working his way back from a pair of ankle injuries. Cooper had January surgery to remove loose bone spurs from his right ankle, and the wideout said that procedure made him aware of another issue. “Because my foot was jammed up and not as flexible, I didn’t really feel the other injury I had in my bone,” Cooper says. “But when they took the spurs out, my ankle got more flexible and I was able to really feel that injury.” It's not clear exactly what the "other" injury is, but that revelation makes his extended return timeline a bit easier to understand. According to Machota, Cooper being Vitamin D deficient has also made the healing take longer. We'll see if the veteran receiver stays on track for the expected mid-August return -- and then how he looks when he does get back onto the field. Cooper remains a risky prospect at ADP.

Cowboys WR Amari Cooper (ankle) told reporters on Tuesday that he's "close to 100%." It's still a bit concerning that Cooper isn't all the way back to 100% after January ankle surgery. But the news on his progress has been positive over the past few days. If he gets on the practice field in mid-August, as planned, and avoids a setback, he should be ready to rock come Week 1.

Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy said Sunday that WR Amari Cooper (ankle) "looks great ... Everything has been extremely positive from the strength staff." Cooper, of course, remains on the active PUP list after January ankle surgery. The tentative plan is to have him get on the practice field in mid-August. McCarthy's words are nice -- but we can't feel totally confident drafting Cooper until we see him in action.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones doesn't expect WR Amari Cooper (ankle) to practice until training camp breaks in mid-August. Cooper remains on the active PUP list after January ankle surgery. The team continues to express little concern about his status, but it sure seems like his recovery has taken longer than expected. Cooper comes with elevated risk until we see him back on the field.

Cowboys WR Amari Cooper (ankle) has been placed on the PUP list to open training camp. He's eligible to be activated at any time. Cooper had what was described as a "routine clean-up procedure" on that ankle back in January -- so it's at least slightly concerning that he's still not ready to go. We'll continue to monitor the situation.

Details on Cowboys WR Amari Cooper's offseason ankle surgery have been scarce. Until now. Sports Illustrated's Mike Fisher reports that it was a "routine clean-up procedure" and happened in January. Fisher adds that the team is "unconcerned about any long-term issues." ESPN's Todd Archer previously reported that Cooper is expected to be ready for the start of training camp, but Fisher hears that Cooper will be "cutting it close." We'll see when he's able to take to the practice field, but it doesn't sound like there's any concern about his status for the start of the season.

ESPN's Todd Archer hears that Cowboys WR Amari Cooper (ankle) is expected to be ready for the start of training camp. He missed spring practices after undergoing ankle surgery this offseason. "They'll just monitor him and see how it goes" in camp, Archer adds. We'll be keeping a close eye on Cooper, who is going in the 3rd round of early fantasy drafts.

Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy revealed that WR Amari Cooper underwent ankle surgery this offseason. We don't have any other details on the injury or procedure. Cooper is "still working through" the issue, per McCarthy, and hasn't participated in spring practices. McCarthy added that he's "hopeful" Cooper will be ready for the start of training camp. We'll keep a close eye on him throughout the summer.

Cowboys QB Andy Dalton (concussion) is listed as doubtful for Sunday night's game against the Eagles. Look for 7th-round rookie QB Ben DiNucci to get the start in that one. He projects as a significant downgrade for Dallas' offense, although it's not like Dalton played well the past 2 weeks.

Cowboys QB Andy Dalton (concussion) didn't practice on Wednesday. He seems unlikely to get cleared for Sunday night's game vs. the Eagles after taking a vicious head shot last weekend. Dalton's absence would leave Dallas with QB Ben DiNucci and make all the Cowboys' pass-catchers tough to trust in fantasy lineups.

Cowboys WR Amari Cooper (ankle) isn’t listed on the final Week 2 injury report. He was limited on Thursday but put in a full practice on Friday. We’ll keep an eye on the ankle, but Cooper is a must-start in Sunday’s likely shootout vs. Atlanta.

Cowboys WR Amari Cooper was added to Thursday's injury report as limited with a foot. ESPN's Todd Archer, meanwhile, hears that Cooper is dealing with a foot injury. Either way, his participation level in Friday's practice now needs to be closely monitored ahead of Sunday's game vs. Atlanta.

Cowboys WR Amari Cooper (hamstring) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final Week 1 injury report. His matchup on Sunday night vs. CB Jalen Ramsey and the Rams is a fair concern, but the hamstring isn’t.

Cowboys WR Amari Cooper is listed on the Week 1 injury report with a hamstring but was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. So, barring a setback, he'll be ready for Sunday night's opener against the Rams. Cooper figures to see plenty of CB Jalen Ramsey in that one.

The Cowboys added Oklahoma WR CeeDee Lamb with the 17th overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft. He joins Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup in a loaded WR corps. Lamb turned in a brilliant 3-year college career. He made an immediate impact as a true freshman, ranking 3rd on the Sooners behind Marquise Brown and Mark Andrews with 46 catches and 807 yards and tying for 2nd with 7 TDs. Lamb’s numbers grew to 65 catches, 1,158 yards and 11 scores in 2018. And he pumped out a massive 62-1,327-14 line this past year. Lamb’s 15.1 yards per target and 3.99 yards per route run in 2019 were easily tops among 30 of this year’s best WR prospects. The 6’2, 198-pounder is a beast after the catch, ranking top 5 among all draft-eligible players in both missed tackles forced and yards-after-catch average. He’s also a weapon downfield with his long-striding speed and plus ball skills. We see a lot of Demaryius Thomas in Lamb’s game — although DeAndre Hopkins seems to be his most popular comp. Lamb is joining what was 1 of the most efficient passing games in the NFL last year, although he’ll be battling for targets with Cooper and Gallup. QB Dak Prescott’s stock gets a significant boost here.
