Jaguars HC Doug Pederson said Friday that RB Darrell Henderson won't be ready to play this weekend vs. the Ravens. Henderson was just claimed by Jacksonville on Wednesday. He could eventually win the #2 RB job, but it'll be JaMycal Hasty in that spot behind Travis Etienne for at least 1 more game.

The Jaguars claimed former Rams RB Darrell Henderson off waivers. Henderson shouldn't impact RB Travis Etienne's volume much, if at all. But he is worth rostering in fantasy football as the Etienne handcuff.

The Rams waived RB Darrell Henderson. You could have gotten big odds a month ago on Henderson getting cut from this roster before RB Cam Akers. Henderson played just 4 snaps last week. HC Sean McVay said Monday that the limited playing time was due to a knee issue, but there must be more to this story. We'll see where Henderson lands, but he's unlikely to be a fantasy factor the rest of this season. His release leaves Los Angeles' moribund backfield to Akers and Kyren Williams. RBs Malcolm Brown and Ronnie Rivers are on the practice squad.

Rams HC Sean McVay said that RB Darrell Henderson's snaps were limited by a knee issue in Sunday's loss to the Saints. Henderson ended up playing just 4 snaps and carrying twice. Kyren Williams actually led the backfield with 35 snaps (55%), finishing with 7 carries and 2 targets. Cam Akers played 25 snaps (39%) and carried 14 times. We'll track Henderson's status this week, but this remains a backfield to avoid in fantasy lineups.

The Rams started RB Darrell Henderson in Sunday's loss to the Saints, as usual. But he logged just 4 snaps for the game. That gave way for RB Cam Akers to lead in carries (14) and rushing yards (61). Rookie RB Kyren Williams followed with 7-36 rushing and saw the only 2 RB targets. He caught 1 for 8 yards. We'll see if HC Sean McVay offers any insight into this prize-less Whac-a-mole game that is the Rams backfield.

Rams RB Malcolm Brown (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday. Brown played 28% of Los Angeles' offensive snaps last week, finishing with 2 carries and 1 target. His absence vs. the Cardinals this weekend would be a very slight boost for RBs Darrell Henderson and Cam Akers.

Rams RB Darrell Henderson took the rushing lead back in Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers, rushing 12 times for 56 yards (4.7 per carry). RB Cam Akers gained just 3 yards on 5 carries in his return. Malcolm Brown added 9 yards on 2 carries. Brown logged the backfield's only reception, taking his lone target for 10 yards. Henderson went without a catch on 1 target. RB Ronnie Rivers played but didn't get a touch.

Rams RB Cam Akers is officially active for today’s game vs. the Bucs. RBs Darrell Henderson, Ronnie Rivers and Malcolm Brown are also active. It’s a messy situation for fantasy football.

Rams RB Cam Akers will play vs. the Bucs today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. "How much he plays will be predicated on the flow of the game," Schefter adds. RB Kyren Williams was not activated for this one, so Akers, Darrell Henderson, Ronnie Rivers and Malcolm Brown are Los Angeles' available RBs. We'll see who's active around 3 pm ET, but you should try to avoid this backfield in fantasy lineups.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that the Rams "turned down multiple offers for RB Cam Akers before Tuesday's trade deadline and now are working with Akers' agent in hopes he'll play for them again this season." Akers doesn't seem to have much choice, unless he's trying to force the team to release him. We'll see where this goes -- and how the backfield will shake out if Akers does return. The Rams also expect to get rookie Kyren Williams healthy soon, and HC Sean McVay has talked up his potential role. This looks like a backfield to avoid if you can, especially given how disappointing the offense has been on whole.

Darrell Henderson led Rams RBs in snaps played in Sunday's loss to the 49ers. But Ronnie Rivers paced the backfield in carries and targets. He managed just 21 yards on his 8 carries (2.6 per rush) and 15 yards on 4 catches, among 4 targets. We'd bet on rookie RB Kyren Williams getting significantly involved once he's ready. We also wouldn't be surprised to see the Rams pick up a RB ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline. Henderson rushed only 4 times for 16 yards and drew 2 targets (2 catches, 14 yards) against San Francisco. It's pretty clear that Sean McVay doesn't believe in him as a primary RB. Malcolm Brown mixed in for 5 carries (10 yards) against the 49ers.

ESPN's Adam Schefter hears that Rams RB Cam Akers is expected to re-join the team if he's not traded before Tuesday's deadline. He won't play vs. the 49ers today, but it sounds like Akers could be back in uniform for Week 9's game against the Bucs. It's unclear, of course, what type of role Akers would be returning to. That said, Darrell Henderson is a strong sell candidate if you can get RB2 value for him in a trade.

Rams RB Cam Akers will not play vs. the 49ers this weekend, HC Sean McVay confirmed Friday. We'll see if Akers gets moved before Tuesday's trade deadline. Darrell Henderson figures to operate as Los Angeles' lead back again on Sunday.

Rams RB Kyren Williams (ankle) has been designated to return from IR. He went down with a high-ankle sprain in the opener that required surgery. He's now eligible to practice, but HC Sean McVay said that Williams won't play vs. the 49ers this weekend. That should keep RB Darrell Henderson in the lead role. We'll continue to monitor Williams' progress. He's worth stashing in deep fantasy leagues.

Rams RB Darrell Henderson ran for 1 of the team's 3 TDs in Sunday's win over the Panthers. That came as part of just a 12-43-1 rushing line though (3.6 yards pr carry) and 2-9 receiving on 3 targets. RB Malcolm Brown handled 7 carries (for 15 yards) and caught his lone target for 13 more. Cam Akers, of course, turned up inactive and might be headed for a new team. Henderson did control the playing time, getting 46 snaps vs. 16 for Brown and 3 for Ronnie Rivers. That included a 22-4-1 lead in pass routes run.

Rams RB Cam Akers won't be rejoining the team "if the situation continues as it has so far this season," NFL Network's Ian Rapoport writes. Akers has "philosophical and football-related differences" with HC Sean McVay, per Rapoport. Akers won't play against the Panthers today and is expected to draw significant trade interest. We'll see where this goes, but it sounds like we shouldn't expect Akers to be part of Los Angeles' backfield going forward. That leaves Darrell Henderson as the leader of what's been an abysmal running game so far. Malcolm Brown will be the #2 RB, with undrafted rookie Ronnie Rivers as the #3. Rapoport says Rivers "has impressed and should get carries." We'll see what the snap and touch split looks like vs. Carolina today.
