Patriots WR Julian Edelman (foot), WR Danny Amendola (knee) and RB Dion Lewis (knee) were all placed on active/PUP list to open training camp. None of this comes as a surprise, and all 3 are eligible to be activated at any point and play Week 1. None are guaranteed to be ready at that point, though. We'll continue to track the progress of all 3 guys. They combined for 162 catches last year -- 40% of the team total.

Patriots WR Julian Edelman (foot) is still uncertain when he'll be cleared to get back on the field. “I’m feeling a day better than yesterday, and I’m feeling a second better than the last second,” he said on Sunday. “Hopefully when that time’s up, that time’s up.” Edelman has undergone 2 foot surgeries over the past 8 months. We'll be keeping a close eye on his status over the next month. He's going in the late 3rd round as WR22 in recent MFL10 drafts.

Patriots insider Jeff Howe hears that there's "confidence" that WR Julian Edelman (foot) will be ready for the start of training camp.  Edelman recently underwent surgery when doctors discovered a "very small crack" in his foot, according to Howe.  That, of course, is the same foot Edelman had surgery on in November.  We'll keep a close eye on his rehab.  Foot injuries can be tricky to recover from.

Patriots WR Danny Amendola had offseason surgeries on his knee and ankle, according to insider Jeff Howe.  Amendola had a bone spur removed from his ankle.  The knee was a "clean up" procedure and was more serious than the ankle, per Howe.  Amendola is still rehabbing and has no firm timetable for return.  "There's hope Amendola will be ready for training camp but it's way too early to know if Week 1 is even a guarantee," says Howe.  Remember that Pats WR Julian Edelman recently underwent foot surgery, leaving New England's WR corps in flux.  Malcolm Mitchell and Chris Hogan look like interesting late-round fliers in fantasy drafts.

Patriots WR Julian Edelman recently underwent left foot surgery, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.  That's the same foot that Edelman fractured on November 15, costing him the final 7 games of the season.  He underwent surgery the day after suffering the injury, and this latest one was considered a "cleanup procedure," per Schefter.  Edelman was recently spotted in a walking boot and using a motorized device to get around.  Schefter adds that Edelman is "on track to return for training camp," but the foot will be worth watching closely.  He turns 30 in May, and New England has added WRs Malcolm Mitchell, Chris Hogan and Nate Washington this offseason.

A federal appeals court ruled on Monday that Patriots QB Tom Brady must serve the 4-game suspension for his role in "Deflategate."  Brady won his appeal of the suspension last fall and played all 16 games.  He does have the option of appealing this decision to the Supreme Court, although that's viewed as unlikely.  Brady and the league could also agree on a reduced ban.  But for now, he'll miss the first 4 contests of the 2016 season.  QB Jimmy Garoppolo will start those games against the Cardinals, Dolphins, Texans and Bills.  Those matchups make him tough to like as a fantasy option, especially with no teams on bye for the first 3 weeks.  Brady's suspension also hurts WR Julian Edelman and TE Rob Gronkowski's early-season outlooks.

As expected, Patriots WR Julian Edelman (foot) is active for today's game at Denver. There was a mild scare after last week's win over the Chiefs when Edelman went to the X-ray room after the game but wouldn't elaborate on his status. But he put in the same level of practice participation this week as last and should be fine to use. Broncos CB Chris Harris (shoulder) -- who's likely to follow Edelman in coverage for much of the game -- is active after fully practicing all week. Expect the Patriots to test him early and stick with that approach for as long as it works. Harris admittedly struggled through last week's win over Pittsburgh.

The Patriots listed WR Julian Edelman as questionable for Sunday's game in Denver, but it seems pretty clear that he'll play. “I’d expect him to get better this week than last week, the extra amount of time he had to work with our offense and the quarterback and so forth,” coach Bill Belichick told the Boston Herald. Edelman drew 16 targets in his 1st game back last week, most among any players in the Divisional Round. And he caught 10 for 100 yards. He's a strong fantasy bet for this weekend as well, especially with Broncos CB Chris Harris playing through a shoulder injury (and likely to primarily cover Edelman).

The Boston Herald reports that Patriots WR Julian Edelman was seen heading to the X-ray room after Saturday's win over the Chiefs. He later told reporters that he didn't need an X-ray but when pressed for further details said only that he wasn't allowed to talk about injuries, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss. We'll have to keep an eye on Edelman's status heading into next Sunday's AFC championship game.

As expected, Patriots WR Julian Edelman (foot) is active for today's game against the Chiefs.  He remained limited in practice all week and probably won't be at 100%.  But New England needs him today with TE Rob Gronkowski banged up.

Patriots WR Julian Edelman (knee) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Chiefs.  He's fully expected to play but was limited in practice all week and won't be at 100%.  That makes Edelman a risk/reward fantasy option for the Divisional Round.

Patriots WR Julian Edelman (foot) remained limited on Thursday.  All signs point to him returning for Saturday's game against the Chiefs, but he might not be at 100%.  Foot injuries can be particularly tricky for skill-position players to return from. Edelman is a risk/reward fantasy option for the Divisional Round.

Patriots WR Julian Edelman (foot) stopped short of guaranteeing he'll play against the Chiefs this weekend or saying that he's back to 100%.  “I can’t put a percentage on it until [Saturday]," he said. "I’m feeling a day better than yesterday. It continues to get better, so that’s what I can say about that. I’m feeling good. We’ve been working hard every day. Doing everything I can to get myself ready for the next day."  The Boston Globe's Jim McBride thought Edelman looked "full speed" in Monday's practice.  And Edelman said afterward that he'll go "full throttle" if he's active this weekend.  We're fully expecting him to play but will continue to keep an eye on the practice reports.

Former NFL team doc David Chao said via Twitter Monday that "full 100% healing" usually takes 3-6 months for the type of foot fracture that Patriots WR Julian Edelman suffered. Chao added that he expects Edelman to be "90%" for the playoffs. Of course, we have to note that Chao has not examined the Pats wideout and is thus making educated guesses. But it seems fair to assume Edelman will remain at least a little short of 100% should he return for this weekend. That might not matter, though. Ninety percent of Edelman should easily be New England's best wideout at this point, giving him plenty of fantasy appeal and helping the outlook for QB Tom Brady.

The Patriots have ruled WR Julian Edelman (foot) out for Sunday's game against Miami. He practiced Wednesday and Thursday but sat out Friday. Edelman's recent participation level suggests he's on pace to return for the playoffs.

Patriots WRs Danny Amendola (knee) and Julian Edelman (foot) have been ruled out for today's game against the Jets.  Both guys have a shot to return for the season finale and should definitely be back for the playoffs.  New England is left with Brandon LaFell, Keshawn Martin, Chris Harper and Matt Slater at WR today.  LaFell is the top fantasy play but figures to see a bunch of CB Darrelle Revis.

Patriots WR Danny Amendola (knee) is officially questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets. He did put in limited practices all week, but he wouldn't be the 1st Patriot -- even this season -- to do so and then miss the game. We'll be watching Sunday morning, but Amendola looks like a shaky fantasy option for Week 16. New England has also ruled WR Julian Edelman (foot) doubtful for the game

Patriots WR Julian Edelman (foot) is inactive for today’s game against the Titans. He’s reportedly targeting a Week 17 return as a playoff tuneup.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that there's a "good chance" Patriots WR Julian Edelman (foot) returns for Week 17.  His rehab is "going well," per Rapoport.  Edelman has participated in New England's last 4 practices but sounds like a long shot to be back for Fantasy Championship Week.
