Packers TE Luke Musgrave caught a team-high six passes for 49 yards in Sunday's win over the Saints. His 8 targets constituted a solid 18.2% share of QB Jordan Love's 44 pass attempts. Musgrave also accounted for 18.9% of the team's receiving yards. WR Romeo Doubs led the team with 12 targets and 73 yards. WR Jayden Reed ranked third with 7 targets and was the only other Packer to reach 50 yards. (He tallied 63.) Green Bay pass catchers get favorable matchups with Detroit and Las Vegas the next two games, ahead of a Week 6 bye.

Packers WR Romeo Doubs hauled in a pair of receiving TDs in Week 1 vs. the Bears. The second-year wideout only mustered 4 catches on 5 targets for 26 receiving yards in the victory, though fantasy managers aren’t too picky about that when a player finds the end zone twice. We’ll see how Doubs fares once teammate Christian Watson (hamstring) returns to the lineup, though preseason reports early in the summer suggested that Love and Doubs built a solid rapport in OTAs. Will it continue in Week 2 vs. the Falcons? We would be remiss to exclude the efforts of TE Luke Musgrave, a player who caught 3 of 4 targets for 50 yards in his NFL debut. Congrats to the rookie.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter report that Packers WR Romeo Doubs (hamstring) is expected to play vs. the Bears today. But he'll be limited. Rapoport tweets that Doubs "likely won't have a full complement of snaps." He's not a recommended Week 1 fantasy starter. Expect a run-heavy attack from the Packers, with RB Aaron Jones, WR Jayden Reed, and TE Luke Musgrave the best bets for targets.

Packers WR Romeo Doubs (hamstring) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Bears. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. Even if Doubs ends up active on Sunday, he’ll be at risk of reduced snaps and reinjury. We’d try not to use him in Week 1 fantasy lineups. With WR Christian Watson (hamstring) out, WR Jayden Reed and TE Luke Musgrave should see increased target shares. But we’re expecting a run-heavy attack from Green Bay, featuring RBs Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon.

Packers WRs Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs missed Wednesday's practice with hamstring injuries. Doubs has been sidelined for close to two weeks now, but it's unclear when Watson got hurt. Their absences vs. the Bears this weekend would leave rookies Jayden Reed and Luke Musgrave as Green Bay's top two pass-catchers -- and likely mean heavy doses of RBs Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon.

The Packers have "big plans" for TE Luke Musgrave, The Athletic's Matt Schneidman writes. That's not a surprise if you've been paying attention to Packers training camp and preseason action, where Musgrave has been a fixture with the first-team offense. "Musgrave is special, and the Packers seem hell-bent on making the most out of him," Schneidman adds. "The rookie second-round pick is running jet sweeps, go routes and everything in between as he flashes his potentially lethal combination of freakish athleticism and contested catch prowess." Musgrave has emerged as one of the best late-round TE targets in fantasy drafts.

Packers TE Luke Musgrave was on the field for all 12 of QB Jordan Love's snaps in Friday night's preseason opener. The rookie ran a route on eight of Love's 10 dropbacks and was targeted on three of Love's 10 passes. If that type of playing time continues into the regular season, Musgrave will be a 2023 fantasy factor. He's climbing the TE rankings.

Packers TE Luke Musgrave was on the field for all 19 of QB Jordan Love's snaps that were broadcast in Saturday night's scrimmage, according to Acme Packing Co.'s Justis Mosqueda. It's further confirmation that Musgrave is set to open the season as Green Bay's starter. The rookie has struggled some with drops and blocking in camp but has consistently flashed his speed and pass-catching skills. Musgrave is a worthy late-round flier in fantasy drafts.

Matt Schneidman of The Athletic says he thinks Packers rookie Luke Musgrave "will be the TE1 by Week 1." Schneidman adds: "The Packers think he can be the true No. 1 pass-catching tight end that Robert Tonyan was at times but not consistently enough, someone like Jermichael Finley in his prime perhaps." The Packers reportedly hope Musgrave can develop into a player they can move around the formation as "almost a wide receiver." We like the long-term upside on the athletic rookie. For 2023, though, Musgrave sits low in TE3 territory in our rankings.

Packers TE Luke Musgrave has been a standout in offseason work. He's already getting first-team reps and has drawn praise from both beat writers and teammates. “He’s going to be a great player," QB Jordan Love said. "He’s a lot faster than I think anybody thought. He picked up the offense really fast. He’s getting a lot of reps right now, which is great for him. He’s making the most of it.” Betting on rookie TEs usually isn't a good idea. But Musgrave has the talent and opportunity to make an immediate impact. He's an intriguing TE3 target in best-ball drafts.

The Packers selected South Dakota State TE Tucker Kraft in Round 3 of the 2023 NFL Draft. Kraft missed most of this past season following ankle surgery. In 2021, he tallied 65-773-6 in 15 games, showing the skill set of a future NFL starter. His fantasy outlook isn’t clear in Green Bay, though, as the Packers selected Luke Musgrave earlier in the night. Kraft is off the redraft radar.

The Packers selected Oregon State TE Luke Musgrave in Round 2 of the 2023 NFL Draft. Musgrave stands 6’6, 253 pounds with Mike Gesicki-like athleticism. The 22-year-old was likely on his way to a breakout 2022 before an early-season MCL tear. That wiped out his final college season, although he returned for the Senior Bowl. Musgrave is largely a bet on athletic traits, as he needs to improve both his hands and his YAC ability. He exits Oregon State with a 16.1% career drop rate and only two forced missed tackles on 47 catches. Prior to tonight, Green Bay featured a pair of uninspiring TEs in Josiah Deguara and Tyler Davis. So Musgrave should step into a day-one role alongside Jordan Love. Consider this a strong landing spot for Musgrave's dynasty value.

TE Luke Musgrave posted an elite Relative Athletic Score (RAS) of 9.94 at the NFL Combine. At nearly 6’6 and 253 pounds, the Oregon State product turned heads with a 36.0” vertical, a 10’5” broad jump and a 4.61 forty-time. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport passed along more good news. Musgrave, who suffered a torn MCL early last season, received “full medical clearance” at the Combine. See where he stacks up among dynasty TEs.
