Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky was benched in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game in Atlanta. He went 13 of 22 for 128 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT, leading Chicago to just 10 points. QB Nick Foles is in for the Bears.

The Bears will start QB Mitchell Trubisky in Week 1 against the Lions, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Trubisky and QB Nick Foles seemed to play to a draw in training camp, so Chicago will give its former #2 overall pick one more shot. We're still expecting Foles to start games this season. And this is still a situation to avoid in fantasy drafts.

Bears HC Matt Nagy said Monday that he'll announce the team's starting QB sometime between Monday and Wednesday next week, ahead of the regular-season opener. Nagy had previously intimated he wouldn't name a starter ahead of game day but called Monday's news a clarification. Camp reports haven't had either Nick Foles or Mitchell Trubisky taking a noticeable lead in the competition. Neither would make for all that interesting a fantasy option, though Trubisky at least sports rushing upside.

Bears GM Ryan Pace has said there's an "open competition" for the team's starting QB job, according to multiple reports. That's not surprising, given the quality of Mitchell Trubisky's play so far and the team's trade for Nick Foles. It's nice to hear the official word, though. We should either get a slight upgrade in Foles or a better-performing Trubisky in the Chicago offense in 2020. Either would mark a welcome change, with some intriguing talent in the skill-position group.

The Jaguars have traded QB Nick Foles to the Bears in exchange for a compensatory 4th-round pick, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Foles notably spent 2012 with Bears HC Matt Nagy in Philadelphia and 2016 with him in Kansas City, so there's some familiarity there. Still, we imagine that this will be an open competition for the starting job this summer between Foles and Mitchell Trubisky. Neither guy is an exciting target in early best-ball drafts. In Jacksonville, meanwhile, QB Gardner Minshew is left atop the depth chart for now.

Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky underwent surgery shortly after the end of the season to repair a partially torn labrum in his left (non-throwing) shoulder. This is likely related to the dislocated shoulder that cost him 1 game back in October. Trubisky is expected to be rehabbing for the next "couple of months," according to ESPN's Jeff Dickerson. So this shouldn't have a major impact on his offseason, but it's still less than ideal for a guy seemingly entering a make-or-break year in Chicago. GM Ryan Pace said earlier this offseason that the "plan" is for Trubisky to be the team's 2020 starter.

Bears GM Ryan Pace said Tuesday that the "plan" is for QB Mitchell Trubisky to be the team's 2020 starter. "Mitch is the starter and we believe in him and we believe in the progress he is going to continue to make," Pace said. Trubisky didn't make any progress this past season. In fact, his completion rate, yards per attempt and QB Rating all sunk from 2018 to 2019. He finished 32nd among QBs in fantasy points per game. Trubisky will be just a low-end QB2 in 2020 fantasy drafts.

Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky (hip) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. Even in Sunday’s plus matchup at home for the Giants, Trubisky is just a QB2.

Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky (hip) put in a full practice on Wednesday. So he should be available for this weekend's game against the Giants -- and HC Matt Nagy said a healthy Trubisky is still the starter. Even in this plus matchup, though, Trubisky remains a low-end QB2.

Bears HC Matt Nagy said Monday that QB Mitchell Trubisky has been diagnosed with a right hip pointer. The injury reportedly occurred late in the 2nd quarter of Sunday night's loss to the Rams. Trubisky played the 3rd quarter and most of the 4th before getting yanked for QB Chase Daniel. “Every decision that was made, it had zero to do with his play," Nagy said. "It was completely based off his injury and where he was at.” A healthy Trubisky will remain Chicago's starter, but you should continue to stay away from this situation in fantasy football.

The Bears pulled QB Mitchell Trubisky out of Sunday night's game late in the 4th quarter. The team reported that Trubisky has a hip injury, but we didn't see the injury while watching the game. Trubisky also watched the final drive while pacing the sideline, as opposed to getting treatment or examination. Trubisky was 24 of 43 for 190 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT when he left. We'll see where this goes.

Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder) is active for today’s game against the Saints. He ends up missing just 1 game with his dislocated left shoulder. The injury was to his non-throwing arm, so it shouldn’t impact his passing. But it could definitely limit his rushing.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder) will start against the Saints today. The left shoulder issue shouldn't impact Trubisky's throwing, but it might limit his rushing. He's just a low-end QB2.

The Bears list QB Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder) as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Saints. He put in 3 full practices, though, so we’re expecting him to get the start. Of course, Trubisky is just a low-end QB2 vs. a hot New Orleans defense.

Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder) is out for this weekend’s game against the Raiders. He reportedly has a shot to return after the Week 6 bye. QB Chase Daniel gets the start on Sunday and is in the QB2 mix in the plus matchup.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport calls Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky "doubtful" for Sunday's game against the Raiders in London with his left shoulder injury. The team hasn't provided any details on the injury, but former NFL head team Dr. David Chao believes Trubisky dislocated the shoulder and tore his labrum. Since it's the non-throwing shoulder, Chao believes Trubisky will end up missing just 1-2 weeks. Chicago has a Week 6 bye, so Trubisky might end up just missing 1 game. QB Chase Daniel figures to start vs. the Raiders this weekend.

Update: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Trubisky's shoulder is dislocated with a slight labrum tear. He's expected to travel to London with the team but likely won't play.

Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky suffered a left shoulder injury early in Sunday's game against the Vikings and has been ruled out. This looks like a serious injury. We'll pass along an update on Trubisky when we get one. QB Chase Daniel is in for Chicago.

Bears HC Matt Nagy said Monday that he'll be "smart" with his starters in Sunday's finale against the Vikings. Chicago still has a shot at the #2 seed -- but only if the Rams lose to the 49ers. If the Rams are up big in the 2nd half, guys like QB Mitchell Trubisky, RBs Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen, WR Allen Robinson and TE Trey Burton could get pulled.
