Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks will return for tonight's game against the Panthers after basically missing all of the past 4 games with a hamstring injury. Playing him in your IDP league remains risky, however. Philly has proved willing to ease him back into the lineup from injuries in the past. That might be tougher to do this time, because DeMeco Ryans is inactive with his own hamstring injury. He joins Kiko Alonso on the inactive list. That leaves rookie Jordan Hicks in the lineup again, and he's probably the safest IDP bet among Philly LBs -- if you've waited this long to start 1. Kendricks, of course, brings plenty of scoring upside any time he plays.

Eagles LB Mychal Kendricks put in a full practice Wednesday. He has missed 3 full games among the past 4 and most of the other with a hamstring injury suffered back in Week 2. The full Wednesday practice has us hopeful for a full return to action at Carolina on Sunday night. We'll certainly watch for further reports on Kendricks' status this week. LB Kiko Alonso also put in a limited practice Wednesday. If he remains out, Kendricks and emergent rookie Jordan Hicks could start together. Hicks has been playing in Kendricks' spot, but veteran DeMeco Ryans suffered a hamstring injury in Monday night's win over the Giants.

The Eagles have ruled out LB Mychal Kendricks for Sunday's game against the Saints. That'll give another start to rookie revelation Jordan Hicks. He probably makes for a more attractive IDP option than Kendricks would have, given the hammy question.

The Eagles lost LB Mychal Kendricks and CB Byron Maxwell to injuries on their 1st defensive drive of the game. Kendricks tweaked the hamstring injury that cost him Week 3 and is questionable to return, according to FOX's game crew. Maxwell hurt a quad and is also questionable -- but reportedly more likely to return today than Kendricks. LB Jordan Hicks helped keep Washington out of the end zone in his 1st action with a nice tackle on RB Chris Thompson. Hicks has played terrifically in recent weeks in Kendricks' place.

Eagles LB Mychal Kendricks is active for today's game at Washington. He missed Week 3 with a hamstring injury suffered in the Week 2 loss to the Cowboys. We'd still be a bit wary of using him in an IDP league today, especially given how well rookie Jordan Hicks played in Kendricks' absence the past 2 weeks. Philly should feel comfy easing Kendricks back in to take care of his hamstring. Of course, a full-power Kendricks comes with as much fantasy upside as just about any LB. So decide how much you're willing to take the risk (compared with your other options).

Eagles LB Mychal Kendricks (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against Washington. Kendricks practice in full all week, however, and seems on track to play. The weather/field conditions might factor into his availability and playing time. We'll check on his status Sunday morning.

Eagles LB Mychal Kendricks is inactive for today's game against the Jets. That should mean the 1st career start for rookie LB Jordan Hicks. He presents some interesting upside if you're in a deep league and willing to take a risk. Hicks outplayed veteran DeMeco Ryans when both filled in last week.

Eagles HC Chip Kelly said Thursday that LB Kiko Alonso will miss Sunday's game against the Jets with his knee sprain, according to PhillyVoice's Rich Hoffman. LB Mychal Kendricks, meanwhile, remains a question mark with his hamstring injury. Kelly said he'd work with a trainer Thursday and that the team will "monitor him" heading into Friday and Saturday. Don't plan on having Kendricks in your IDP lineup. DeMeco Ryans figures to start in Alonso's place, with Jordan Hicks joining him if Kendricks can't go.

Eagles DE Cedric Thornton broke a bone in his right hand and will miss "a few weeks," according to a Philly.com report. He's no huge loss for IDP owners or the Philly defense but does chip away a bit further at a unit that also lost LB Kiko Alonso for at least a few games and has LB Mychal Kendricks dealing with a hamstring strain. Vinny Curry and Taylor Hart could each see more playing time with Thornton out. Curry's the only 1 on the IDP radar.

Philly.com's Les Bowen reports that Eagles LB Mychal Kendricks suffered only a mild hamstring strain when he left Sunday's loss to the Cowboys. Bowen doesn't give any expected timeline, but it sounds like a week-to-week type of injury. We'll see if Kendricks participates in practice at all this week. If he doesn't put in a full workout, he'll be an iffy IDP option for Sunday. It might be better for the team to keep him out for at least a game, especially after rookie Jordan Hicks filled in well Sunday.

Eagles LB Kiko Alonso suffered a Grade 2 sprain -- which is a partial tear -- to his left ACL, the same ligament he tore before the 2014 season. Philly.com's Les Bowen reports that the injury is expected to keep him out at least a few weeks but shouldn't end Alonso's season. We'll see what kind of timeline the team puts on it once the injury gets officially announced. DeMeco Ryans took over Alonso's spot and looked like an old backup. He's certainly capable of putting up fantasy numbers with a starting job, though -- especially with ILB Mychal Kendricks also hurt. Losing both inside LBs certainly doesn't help the team D.

Eagles LB Mychal Kendricks limped off the field appearing to hold a hamstring after running with Cowboys RB Lance Dunbar on a deep route. We'll keep an eye out for updates on his status the rest of the way -- and beyond.

UPDATE: The Eagles have ruled Kendricks out for the rest of the game.

Eagles LB Kiko Alonso left Sunday's matchup with Dallas early after suffering a knee injury. The team has ruled him out for the game. We'll keep an eye out for a full diagnosis.

Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks on Monday signed a 4-year extension with the team. ESPN's Adam Caplan reports that it's worth $29 million, with $16.4 million guaranteed. The new deal solidifies Kendricks' standing with the team after an offseason that found him in the middle of rampant trade rumors. Rumor had it HC Chip Kelly didn't see Kendricks as a key piece moving forward. That's clearly not the case now. We ignored the rumors while projecting Kendricks in our 2015 IDP rankings, and his position looks even stronger now.

Eagles LB Kiko Alonso suffered a concussion in Tuesday's practice this week and must go through the league protocol before returning to the field. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that it's Alonso's 1st known concussion in the NFL, so this doesn't seem like a concern beyond his immediate recovery window.

Eagles LB Kiko Alonso is excited about how good his repaired knee feels. “I honestly didn’t think I’d be doing this much,” Alonso told Philly.com on Friday. “I’ve just been going on how I feel, and it’s feeling really good.” Alonso reportedly practiced without restriction this week. Getting into full workouts so early can only help the new Eagle's conditioning as he gets used to Chip Kelly practices again. We'll see as we more toward and into training camp how Philly plans to use its crowd at ILB.

The Eagles moved up to get DB Eric Rowe in the 2nd round of the NFL Draft. Rowe projects as either a CB or a S in the NFL, both of which could fill needs for Philadelphia. Rowe tallied just 3 INTs over 4 seasons at Utah but racked up 36 passes defensed. He'll carry some IDP upside but isn't too exciting for dynasty rookie drafts.

The Eagles -- somewhat surprisingly -- re-signed OLB Brandon Graham on Monday with a 4-year deal worth a reported $26 million. As long as Graham stays healthy and effective, we'd expect the 27-year-old to play out that contract. Philly clearly needed Graham's edge-rushing talent after releasing OLB Trent Cole. The re-signing also signals that they don't believe 2014 first-round OLB Marcus Smith is near ready for a prominent role. As a starter, Graham should turn into a solid option for fantasy football owners playing in sack-friendly IDP leagues.

CB Byron Maxwell told ESPN's Josina Anderson on Sunday, "I'm going to Philly." There had been reports of a 5-year agreement worth a little more than $50 million. Maxwell ranked 45th among 108 CBs in overall Pro Football Focus grade last year. He also finished 39th in coverage, 1 spot behind Cary Williams, whom the Eagles released earlier this offseason. Maxwell did, however, rank 16th overall and 13th in coverage in 2013. A weak CB crop on the free-agent market and a shaky rookie class at the position undoubtedly helped to make him money this offseason. We'll see if the deal works out for the Eagles.
